I loved the “original” EPCOT. It was just cool and different from all other parks. But I guess it got old and needed changes. I will never forget Horizons, the dream finder, and world of motion.
We were invited up to the lounge above Test Track right before it was rethemed. It was very nice but was staffed by Chevy (or GM) employees, not CMs. It had great views of many areas of EPCOT. They had free cold fountain drinks too. Afterwards we were invited to reride. Their elevator brought you right down to the loading station.
Beautiful monorail footage as always. Test Track's last day is blocked out for cast members. My friend works at the VIP lounge upstairs so many of my Epcot visits include a trip to the GM lounge, but there's no cool World of Motion stuff up there. Just free soda.
Monorail.... Monorails are the best.... wish they had more.... miss old wonders of life pavilion.... cranium command and body wars were the best.....pavilion was supposed to be virtual reality Playland, but it got canceled... they put a new roof on the building.... miss the first version of test track.... miss world of motion, too.... change can be good, too.... Great views of park and Monorails... thanks for sharing...take care... have a great day.....thanks..... 👍👍👍👍
After World of Motion closed, the classic cars and trucks that were part of the displays on the ride were auctioned off by a company that specialized in antique cars, I think it was Kruse auctions
Micah I’m with you Test Track looks dated and definitely deserves an update. The current version has run its course. Hopefully the new version will be amazing
Thanks for sharing Micah! I loved the original version of Test Track was fascinated by the stories and rumours surrounding the delay of opening the ride back in the 90’s. Being honest, I really disliked version 2.0 everything just seemed to be done on a budget by making all rooms dark and having neon type lights. It also lost the humour that was prevalent in the first version. Hopefully the reimagined version will be more like version 1 and Disney, please bring back the test dummies in the queue!
Hate how they’ve blocked off some of the paths near the front :/ hopefully they AT LEAST change it so it looks more permanent instead of these cheap walls
My nephew works for GM, so when he joined us a couple years ago we went up there. Surprisingly there's hardly any place to charge a phone up there. Wasn't set up for that. I was looking at some old photos of the original test track queue. Remember that old light blue Ford from the early 1900s that was in a workshop vignette? I spotted it in an old video from World of Motion. Inside the car, in WoM I spotted what looks like the girl with the blond pigtails in the wash day scene with Sarah in Carousel of Progress!
EPCOT or what is left of it, has become my least favorite park. I truly enjoyed the original concept with the pavillions, the educating aspect, ... Now it's just another amusement park.
I have only been on the old version where they had that heat and cold testing rooms. We got stuck just past the hot room one time and my husband freaked out because he is claustrophobic. He started yelling, "get me out of here!" He could not loosen his seat belt. Thankfully a cast member came and showed him how to release his seatbelt and he asked to get out. A few minutes later the ride resumed, and we met him at the end. My son and I loved the ride but his Dad never went on it again.
That was so cool, Micah. There are always changes going on, it seems. I guess that is inevitable. 🌞👏🏻
Thanks Micha❤
Everything back in the days of Epcot were about teaching and learning Now it’s all about IP So I definitely could see the pavilion going down
GM is still paying for it, and there is no signs any IP will be added. If GM dropped sponsorship then it would likely be turned into a cars ride.

Well New test track fits in for “Future world”.
👍👍👍
Ive never been in the mission space building and seen all that remains of the past. Pretty cool.
I remember going to Test Track and making my own car. It actually won the power test!

I haven't been to Disney World since 2010. Test Track is one of my favorite rides there, but unfortunately I'll never get to ride this version.
Honestly, IMO, you're not missing anything great.

I hope they still have the pressed penny machines at Test Track in September when we are there. I need to get some.
The old version of Test Track was far superior. The current version is a cheap wrap. Everything is dark and they just threw in some neon lights.
Do you not remember the original? It was just an open warehouse with some traffic cones and barrels. It wasn't that great either.

Beyond frustrating and sad at how Disney has destroyed Epcot over the years jamming in unrelated IPs, de-theming, etc. 🥲😡
