As a General Motors employee, one of my favorite perks we get comes from our close relationship with Disney. We sponsor Test Track and our CEO sits on the Disney board. We basically get VIP treatment at Test Track if we show our employee ID and we get really nice discounts on park tickets. LOVE IT!
I’m excited but worried about this. The current version of test track is very underwhelming compared to the original. Test track 1.0 was my favorite ride at Disney growing up and it was a large part of what made me a fan of Disney parks in the first place. I hope test track 3.0 is more like the original and less like what we have now
I think it will be amazing. History of automobiles again, probably with a futuristic EV segment about the future of the car. Very much in the spirit of Epcot.
The goal is to move forward not backwards. The update will be nothing like version 1.0 which in my opinion was the worst version so far. Hopefully more show scenes and some easter eggs from World of Motion.
I believe in one of the announcements they said they are paying homage to the World of Motion as well. Out of any of the recent EPCOT updates, this is the only one that actually is “EPCOT”
agree, love the new concept.. Just one thing, I 'd hope they would incorporate a liltte bit of that original ORANGE colour theme in it, as well .. ;-) Otherwise GREAT!!
Positive Brayden is infectious, you can't help but get excited with him. With the negative stuff, he's just being real and he has good range in his reporting, but yeah its great to see him excited about something.
I would like to see them ditch the design your car, and bring back some World of Motion vibes and make the queue and indoor portion of the ride more about history of transportation and how it advanced over time before the high speed loop.
I was saying this to my mom the other day. you can keep the exact layout but each "slower" portion of the ride is a different important era in automotive history ending with the speed test scene where on either side is concept art of what could be in the future. then you do the launch and exit the ride where the show floor has models of the vehicles you just saw concept art for.
This is one of the rare, and i mean RARE, Disney announcements that I'm actually happy about. Im cautiously excited about this one. If done properly, meaning like classic Disney and not current Disney, this can be incredible! Im not getting my hopes up until i ride it myself because I DO NOT trust modern Disney at all though.
I have already been on this ride for my graduation last decade. We all wished we all had to make original Test Track and the 2.0 as one ride along with a different World of Motion props, classical songs you included. We don't want some of those EV stuff of nonsense, we want to make the real future of hybrid. It's all about restoration, repopulate, renewal, a blast from the past and anything else from back then. We need to send the message to Walt Disney Imagineering on that.
I Love the look of the outside Test Track update. I would love it if the inside brought back some of the "story" the World of Motion and Test track 1.0 had. the current version is just a cool ride, the theming and story are so reliant on the tech working (which it rarely is), that it is not that enticing. I still love the ride, it is a really fun ride system.
I'm very excited for TT 3.0! The canopy being removed from the exterior, as well as the other exterior updates, make the entrance look fantastic! I like the ride vehicles and the theming. All of these improvements seem well-worth the wait. Thanks for bringing this update, Brayden!
so I hope this project will only take up to a year max because I love test track I always get excited when I go on my Disney trips to ride that ride, so I’m kind of sad that it will be closed when I come
I thought I heard, or read, somewhere that this refurb included inclosing most or all of the outside portion so that it can run when the weather gets bad??
it takes Disney a year to referb a ride it takes universal 1 year to build an entire theme park lmao i want to go to epcot again haven't been since just before test track 1.0 . probably wont go now
Exciting! BUT, if test track can get a sponsor, there isn’t ONE tech company that’s willing to sponsor their wares at the Imagination Pavilion? Why isn’t Disney shmoozing them! Walt knew how to talk a company into a good deal!
I was lucky enough to go to Epcot in the mid 80s when I was a kid after it opened and it was epic. It made a lasting impression on me. And I remember test track being so cool.
I like modernization and “progress” for Disney most of the time. Makes sense and was always part of Walt’s vision. I do wish however they gave more nods to the heritage of those rides (like WOM) for the long time loyalists.
I’m a little sad because the next time I’m going to Disney’s in September so I’m kind of sad I won’t get to ride the old version for the last time I’m excited for what it’s going to bring the new version I think will be exciting but yeah I don’t think it’s a good idea to have it closed for too long because Epcot still lacks a lot of rides to begin with and test track was one of the big rides to ride at Epcot Guardians is definitely now the most popular at Epcot but it’s hard to get on a lot
I'm trying to remember here- and my brain is telling me something illogical. Did they actually tear out the whole communicore East and West and then basically put them back? And that was 4 years?
As usual Brayden - full and comprehensive Disney news that is second to none. Something to think about - Marry Barra, CEO of General Motors, sits of the Disney board. Wonder if her presence has any influence on how this ride is turning out as it seems to be a lot better than stuff Disney has done lately especially things like Journey of Water.
This is the only current Disney refurbishment that I am totally on board with so far. I'm glad that the Country Bears are getting new animatronics, but sad about the old songs being removed. I'm happy about the refresh of the Haunted Mansion queue at Disneyland, but worried about the size and style of the exit gift shop. I'm happy that New Orleans Square is expanding at Disneyland, but upset that they're not giving Tiana's the exterior that was shown in the concept art. So at least there's Test Track to keep my spirits up! 😊
It makes a lot of sense that GM wants to change it to something greener and in line with World of Motion to promote their EVs. GM is creating one of the largest EV lineups in the world so they want to promote that to get people to buy them
Looking forward to this update. I loved v 1, but not sure how much of that is nostalgia since it was during my first visit to WDW or if it was that much better, but it was fun. Im happy to see world of motion mentioned as an inspiration though as it's moving forward while paying homage to it's beginning. It overall looks much better so far in the concept art as you explained it.
Ugh I’m going in September i guess i gotta wait a few more years to ride again, im bringing a friend for their first visit looks like they’ll have to wait 😢
This is the first thing that Disney has done in years that im genuenely excited and hopeful for and feel like it will actually keep the thematic integrity of Disney
Would it be possible to do that at the same time? In June, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at the Magic Kingdom Park, while It’s Tough to Be a Bug closes for good at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to make way for a Zootropolis 4D show.
Boob Iger will take credit for this but the only reason it's getting done and this kind of money is being spent on it is because it's sponsorship money outside of Disney paying for it.
I loved the theming of the original test track and just how detailed it was, even in the queue, which was incredible. I hope this test track goes back to those roots and learns from the mistakes of 2.0. Just wish it wasn't going to take a year.
My only issue is the timing… loosing an air conditioned space in the middle of summer may create some crowing at other venues, When you’re looking to escape the Florida heat.
My late father was a GM engineer, and even worked on setting up the battery production line for the EV1. We went to the lounge once when it was version 1.0. We were escorted in a special entrance, had snacks in the lounge, then boarded the ride backstage before they came around to the main queue. It was pretty cool, as a kid.
Gotta admit I haven’t even done Test Track since being an AP Holder the last couple years. I did it as a tourist a few times and never again. It’s the Disney version of Fast and Furious. An update would be nice.
I really hope they take the outdoor portion of the ride and enclose it and make it indoor and that way if it rains, they can still run the ride. That way gets don’t complain when the ride shuts down because of the rain when they have a lightning lane pass or they buy a ticket for it , it would be the smart thing to do, to enclose the outdoor portion of the ride
I seriously doubt GM shareholders would be ok with GM spending $100M on a ride at Disney... Are they sharing in the costs? We need more details Brayden.
I’m hoping at D23, they reveal the Wonders of Xander Land built beside the guardians attraction, demolishing mission Space and Wonders of life. Possibly another attraction where you fly a “Milano” or maybe a Groot and rocket inspired Coaster. Where as the Space 220 restaurant can stay the same with the exterior being rethemed to Xander and the restaurant itself can be the same but with guardians added to the screens.
Most of the money for this update is obviously coming from General motors would be nice to see how much is coming from them and how much Disney is putting in the attraction
Sounds fantastic. While I didn’t hate 2.0 like others (it just seemed like a more modern, sleek version of what OG Epcot used to be), I also thought it aged faster than 1.0 did. And the computer sim design of the ride seems redundant and more cheap now with Tron currently open. And we’re finally getting rid of that canopy! Thank the maker!! I really do hope that design-a-car part goes, too. It’s a waste of time, and it makes the long lines and ride operations slow down more.
I’m glad I got to ride it before it closed. It won’t be open next time I go. Then I might be done going to Disney for a while. My kids want to go to Universal
I’d love to see more from test track, for a ride that introduces a bit of thrill.. it’s all too quickly over for me.. personally I would like to see them weave in a dip that caused some air time and possibly a skid pan style 360.. before heading back in..
As a General Motors employee, one of my favorite perks we get comes from our close relationship with Disney. We sponsor Test Track and our CEO sits on the Disney board. We basically get VIP treatment at Test Track if we show our employee ID and we get really nice discounts on park tickets. LOVE IT!
I thought Chevrolet sponsors test track tho?
@@lifeisshørt_420 Chevrolet is owned by General Motors. Our brands are Chevrolet, Buick, GMC & Cadillac.
@@lifeisshørt_420 omg pls do not tell me your this dumb
@@lifeisshørt_420GM sponsors test track with there chevy brand

1.0 was my favorite as well!
It's using the World Of Motion
I believe in one of the announcements they said they are paying homage to the World of Motion as well. Out of any of the recent EPCOT updates, this is the only one that actually is “EPCOT”
I'm happy that the tent is going, definitely gives that bit of "World Of Motion" originality again.
agree, love the new concept.. Just one thing, I 'd hope they would incorporate a liltte bit of that original ORANGE colour theme in it, as well .. ;-) Otherwise GREAT!!
ITS FUN TO BE FREE!!!!!!!!!
Don't get the hope's high, the ride will be the same they probably do like splash mountain
Love seeing happy, optimistic Brayden. Love even more that Disney is giving us something to be happy and optimistic about!
Negative videos get more views though. I’m sure it will be coming soon
Until he finds out it reopens with a virtual queue only or you can of course LL your way onto it...
Disney isn't giving us this. A corporate sponsor is. Otherwise boob Iger would be putting more duct tape on it and calling it brand new.
One of the few remaining attraction updates that doesnt involve some generic disney movie theme. This is great
And ties into classic Epcot thank God for General Motors .Theyre the only reason why its still here
There's a hell of a lot of positivity and excitement coming from Brayden in this one lol. Cheers!
Positive Brayden is infectious, you can't help but get excited with him. With the negative stuff, he's just being real and he has good range in his reporting, but yeah its great to see him excited about something.
Glad the canopy is going. Still missing the fountain of Nations.
true, that would be the next thing needed to be fixed, asap..
I would like to see them ditch the design your car, and bring back some World of Motion vibes and make the queue and indoor portion of the ride more about history of transportation and how it advanced over time before the high speed loop.
I agree this wastes too much time, but my kids did love it.
i'd also be happy if the design your car actually did something intresting
design your car thing is boring and just slows the line down even more
I was saying this to my mom the other day. you can keep the exact layout but each "slower" portion of the ride is a different important era in automotive history ending with the speed test scene where on either side is concept art of what could be in the future. then you do the launch and exit the ride where the show floor has models of the vehicles you just saw concept art for.
And you would be wrong

I’m more excited for this than anything else Disney announced- or what is rumored!
And yes, bring back Bill and the Preshow from the original!
I would hope that this closure would prompt them to remove the virtual queue on Cosmic Rewind
I Love the look of the outside Test Track update. I would love it if the inside brought back some of the "story" the World of Motion and Test track 1.0 had. the current version is just a cool ride, the theming and story are so reliant on the tech working (which it rarely is), that it is not that enticing. I'm very excited for TT 3.0! The canopy being removed from the exterior, as well as the other exterior updates, make the entrance look fantastic! I like the ride vehicles and the theming.
All of these improvements seem well-worth the wait. Thanks for bringing this update, Brayden!
This ride needs to be faster than my Uber drive on I-4!!!
I rode TEST TRACK in 2011 and I was seriously disappointed by the lack of acceleration - good low-end but then it fell off hard. Needs at least 400hp.
so I hope this project will only take up to a year max because I love test track I always get excited when I go on my Disney trips to ride that ride, so I’m kind of sad that it will be closed when I come
Can’t let Walcot lose its name!!
Please get rid of that design car crap. Bring back the test dummies!
I agree, it is just a que time waster.
Yes!!!
I’m really excited for this new version!! I’m hoping we get some new immersive sets. I can’t wait to see what they do with the new story line!
I thought I heard, or read, somewhere that this refurb included inclosing most or all of the outside portion so that it can run when the weather gets bad??
Hopefully they bring back “It’s fun to be free” as the theme song
Braden, are they covering the outdoor portion of the high-speed loop, so that this can run in inclement weather?
This is so cool. Cant wait to ride this version when it opens😊.
it takes Disney a year to referb a ride it takes universal 1 year to build an entire theme park lmao i want to go to epcot again haven't been since just before test track 1.0 . probably wont go now
cant wait to ride on the cybertruck!
Exciting! BUT, if test track can get a sponsor, there isn’t ONE tech company that’s willing to sponsor their wares at the Imagination Pavilion? Why isn’t Disney shmoozing them! Walt knew how to talk a company into a good deal!
They need to bring back the awesome music from World of Motion: It's fun to be free!
I hope Disney will add on elements of world of motion
"BuT bRaYdEN yOu SaId tHeRE wOuLD bE nO wAlLs!!!" 😂😂
I loved the original version of Test Track. Excited for the new updated.
As always, Brayden is the best!!
I was lucky enough to go to Epcot in the mid 80s when I was a kid after it opened and it was epic. It made a lasting impression on me. And I remember test track being so cool.
I still miss original world of motion...so much more creative than just a ride...thanks for great update
Mind boggling the only way we get something “new” are re-themes while Universal sits back and laughs. 🤦🏻♂️
Yes I’m ready. Needed an update big time and I’m excited for what it’ll look like!
I like modernization and “progress” for Disney most of the time. Makes sense and was always part of Walt’s vision. I do wish however they gave more nods to the heritage of those rides (like WOM) for the long time loyalists.
Impressive. Definitely will be looking forward to future updates. Not often do I get to say that about anything Disney related anymore
I'm doing my first solo trip in Sept, so I'll guess I'll miss it. Darn.
Same, for the longest I was looking forward to riding this in September for the first time, only for it to be closing down 😩
I read somewhere that the entire track will be covered to remove rain delays. That's a major improvement if accurate.
I'm trying to remember here- and my brain is telling me something illogical. Did they actually tear out the whole communicore East and West and then basically put them back? And that was 4 years?

if you think test track 2.0 is better than 1.0, you need to be placed on a government watch list
crash test dummies for life!
It makes a lot of sense that GM wants to change it to something greener and in line with World of Motion to promote their EVs. GM is creating one of the largest EV lineups in the world so they want to promote that to get people to buy them
I love the original test track!!! Bring that back!
I just hope it'll be ready by October 2025! That's when my dad's first trip ever will be. Really excited, such a fun ride. Love the new vehicle look.
Looking forward to this update. I loved v 1, but not sure how much of that is nostalgia since it was during my first visit to WDW or if it was that much better, but it was fun. Im happy to see world of motion mentioned as an inspiration though as it's moving forward while paying homage to it's beginning. I'm stoked! I was so worried they would try to retheme this to Cars or something. I'm glad GM sees Chevy as the IP for this and kept up the funding.
I’m very excited about this update for the ride. Omg imagine if the original pre show returned.
Brayden, great job as always. Thank You!!
Can you smell that pixie dusters !!??? It's 7 years of walls for underpar performance of Test Track 3.0. 😂😂😂
8:32 then again they did close the entire center walking path of the park for multiple years…
Ugh I’m going in September i guess i gotta wait a few more years to ride again, im bringing a friend for their first visit looks like they’ll have to wait 😢
This is the first thing that Disney has done in years that im genuenely excited and hopeful for and feel like it will actually keep the thematic integrity of Disney
I'm concerned about the wait times for the reason of the park during summer season. I understand the contract but Epcot needs new attractions 😢
Would it be possible to do that at the same time? In June, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open at the Magic Kingdom Park, while It’s Tough to Be a Bug closes for good at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to make way for a Zootropolis 4D show.
You’re spoiling us! Thank you for the great videos Brayden.
I felt test track 2.0 was a huge downgrade over the original. Here’s hoping this is a move in the right direction!
Great vlog, full of fabulous information. Thank you.
They need Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to narrate the new version
Glad I am going before it closes
I’m so glad the reworking is really happening. Test Track 2.0 was absolutely atrocious. The new entrance looks particularly good.
Are they keeping the legendary soundtrack
Damm I'm going for a week to Disney starting on the 17jun. Oh well I've riden Test track over over 50 times and my son over 20 😆
😢im going miss this version and the old one
This used to be my favorite ride but its still top 5 for me
But im excited and sad at the same time
Does this mean we might get a hybrid of Test Track and World of Motion with the returns of animatronics?
Oh great, I’ve been trying to go back to ride test track as my favorite Epcot ride and now it’s gonna be shut down while I’m there
Boob Iger will take credit for this but the only reason it's getting done and this kind of money is being spent on it is because it's sponsorship money outside of Disney paying for it.
I was coming to say this same exact thing!
I came here to say the same exact thing!
I loved the theming of the original test track and just how detailed it was, even in the queue, which was incredible. I hope this test track goes back to those roots and learns from the mistakes of 2.0. Just wish it wasn't going to take a year.
I hope the DESIGN YOUR CAR is still available!!! Its my favorite.
Brayden, how long do you think this will take to complete?
Oh no! Were there in August. My kids will be distraught.
Is this gonna be like the old world of motion with the new test track vehicle
ACTUALLY SAD TO SEE TEST TRACK 2.0 GO!
The only way Disney gets things right is when they are working with another company. They can’t get it right if it is just them.
This is my son's favorite ride...sadly...we won't be back at WDW until July.
My only issue is the timing… loosing an air conditioned space in the middle of summer may create some crowing at other venues, When you’re looking to escape the Florida heat.
It blows my mind how much these theme park projects cost. $100 million for a ride reskin??? That is wild!!!
I’m actually excited for this one.
Wow there's a lounge? Wow never noticed
Closing a popular people eater in JUNE! Brilliant.
good thing im going to disney world very soon; i'll be able to ride this in the current version one more time
I really don't understand how a "retheme" will take a year?
Can't wait to see the new version! Hopefully, it won't take as long as they are projecting. Or worse, longer!
Go back to the OG test track
I’m hoping at D23, they reveal the Wonders of Xander Land built beside the guardians attraction, demolishing mission Space and Wonders of life. Possibly another attraction where you fly a “Milano” or maybe a Groot and rocket inspired Coaster. Where as the Space 220 restaurant can stay the same with the exterior being rethemed to Xander and the restaurant itself can be the same but with guardians added to the screens.
Most of the money for this update is obviously coming from General motors would be nice to see how much is coming from them and how much Disney is putting in the attraction
What do Coco and Encanto have to do with animals?
People are used to test track being broke down so they won’t notice much of it being closed down.
So our vacation starts on the 17th is that when the walls go up or is that the last day to ride?
Here we go again.
I’m assuming we’re also going to be getting a closing date for It’s Tough to Be a Bug sometime this week
Get rid of designing cars portion. Makes the line drag. Put it at the end of the ride for people that want to do something like that.
My family has not liked 2.0 from the beginning. Cheers to 3.0 and a better experience. Now if we can only get Gary Sinise back to Mission Space!
I’d love to see more from test track, for a ride that introduces a bit of thrill.. it’s all too quickly over for me.. personally I would like to see them weave in a dip that caused some air time and possibly a skid pan style 360.. before heading back in..
