Pearl Ngcobo well, there’s stories about inter-demential travel and alternate realities induced by NDE’s (Near Death Experiences), but those are just consequences of the plot, but still one of the coolest shows to ever exist on Netflix.

Brit marling and zal batmanglij had FIVE SEASONS worth of the story laid out, and Netflix goes up and ahead to cancel it. Meanwhile they keep making trash shows like 13 reasons why who's story very well ended in the first season. Bull shit. This is so not cool.

She writes the script herself and she's the main character so it's gonna take a long time between every season and because she's the writer it's kinda like writing a book you have a deadline of when you are supposed to get the book out but if you're getting writers block or you're getting other things in life going on it may not be as easy and that's what she's dealing with. She went on to a talk show or some news segment or something after the first season and they asked her for some hints on the second season and how long they expected to take her to write it and she said she's the one that writes it she's the one that directs it she's the one that stars in it and she's only just begun to write this season and there's no telling what she's gonna write or how long it's gonna take and she wasn't gonna give anybody any ideas about what it might entail because she wants us to be totally in it with her and have no ideas one way or the other

I rewatched the whole season 1 because I've been waiting this for 2 (and more actually) years ??? I AM READY and so so excited!!
Just here to say that the second season of this show might be the best 8 hours of TV I’ve ever seen... absolutely masterful. It asks the questions worth asking in the most thrilling, creative way possible. This was a rare experience, I would pay for a years worth of Netflix just for this show. Stay gold ;-)
If you like confusing, complex storytelling and want to be gagged, gooped, and bamboozled, season 2 is a solid and rewarding continuation of the first, and will age perfectly as long as there's more seasons. If the show is cancelled, which I doubt it will be, this season will not be a satisfying end like the first one was. There needs to be more.
Netflix, please produce, at the very least, a three-episode 3rd season or a feature-length movie for the OA.
It's a great, intriguing story that deserves a much better conclusion. And I believe it's a move you won't regret all.
When I started watching this show, just when I was about to abandon it, the OA started getting intriguing. Part II was even better. I am really disappointed that there will not be a Part III.

This was excellent, unique and a sci-fi thats borderline fantasy, cool characters, shot great and intriguing plot. It has great impact as a two season thing and may have gotten stale heading to a third, but...
If there was indeed more to tell Id put this up with Altered Carbon as one series Id like to see be continued/wrapped up on a big movie budget scale, aka a Serenity/Firefly type deal because seems like you could do more there.

@@ishikawa1338 that's why they produce so many shows...so there is one that happens per month to keep you subscribed through the year. This show however is being released in the same month as a few bigger shows which means that this show was released because it was ready. Not because it was being held for viewership. The literally finished ADR like a week ago and are waiting for the end of next month for simultaneous release with it's premier at a french convention.

You don't understand this isn't some obsession with a show. This is so much more than that. For A LOT of us, we find an escape in captivating stories like The OA, like Sense8. I suffer from anxiety and depression and this show was something I found refuge in, The OA was story telling at its finest. Mark my words, come Altered Carbon season 2(another show which is as gold), Netflix will cancel it as well.

Same here I watched the sense8 a few weeks ago and just finished The OA today,and what they did to these 2 shows is just brutal I mean sense8 got an ending but it wasnt satisfying they rushed things so much and now the OA its just too much.I have never loved watching any show as much as I loved sense8 and after that I watched a few others but it wasnt feeling the same as it felt while watching sense8 with The OA I was having same kind of connection but unfortunately its canceled.
I just found out about the show when the Corona virus started. And it saved my life. I felt like I found this world of beauty, creativity, full of imagination, honesty, pure love and connection. It will come back, I’m doing my best to manifest my thoughts to reality. Don’t give up! Keep the faith!

It's not complicated at all, it's just non-sense. I have no aversion towards sci-fi or fictional stuff. But really, the "dance" and the whole story of season 1 was just so wannabe intellectual...
maio290 the series is not for everybody. It is as essy as that. No point in talking bs about something you did not like...it is a genius story which has to be taken as it is. The moment you start to ridicule any aspect of it, you ruin the whole show... but some people only know how to ridicule, that‘s why this show is not for everyone, because it is not meant solely for entartaniment.
Season 1 left me on tears because i thought it was Beautiful.

I loved it! It's not your typical sci-fi or whatever show. The second season ties up some lose ends, but still gives you more questions. And there will definitely be a third season after this. I believe they said they've got enough content for 5 seasons. Fingers crossed, they'll continue it!

The OA season 2 does not disappoint. Unlike stranger things, the second try was a great attempt on a subject that many filmmakers tried and failed. Season 2 shows how screenwriters took their time to improve an idea and produce a piece that illustrates feelings that all of us have experienced at some point in our life.
The OA walks on the dangerous line between reality and imagination which one misstep can tip the whole project over the cliff of cliche and banality.
I don't want a season three now, I would like Brit and Zal to patiently work out the 3rd season as brilliant as the second one even if takes 3 more years.

I don't know man, in my opinion the writer dropped the ball really bad. At least if you start watching part 2 immediately after the ending of part 1, it's absolutely jarring. Part 1 was unique. It is not like any other show. We got super invested in a story and got used to a certain feel, then it all changes abruptly to some people we had never seen before and about whom we have no reason to care, and all the wonder and magic fades into a sterile (and dumb) futuristic thing.
The first season also has a very cool meta aspect to it because it was a story about *storytelling* - this timeless thing that probably predates human speech. Not only it is _about_ storytelling, the very story _is a story_ in-canon: OA is the narrator, and the story we get is the one she tells it (the show itself makes that very clear near the end). It was super classy and it deserves all the praise in the world. Part 2 lost all that and wow, I don't think it should be so directly related to the first part, because it kind of tarnishes a masterpiece.
I can't believe several executives and advisors watched this and said "yeah, mr. writer, this is perfect, no issues here at all, it's a wrap". The worst thing is that after the initial shock, I began to dislike the missing girl story so much I can't even watch an entire episode... After some time with Karim my attention drifts and I have to stop watching and resume some other day.
That being said, I'll persist, I am sure it will get good eventually, but I am convinced that no matter how good the story gets, part 2 has no mystique and is so mundane that it would be better if Netflix didn't put it under the same title.

@@ismelll3449 i am not sure what was your expectation, but i think if they kept things like season 1 you would be the one who were disappointed, maybe even more than now :). I think second season was meta too, maybe not as meta as first season, but personally liked the direction they take.
Is MellL it doesn’t seem you finished the whole part ii? Cause it provides a lot of answers for the mysteries of part I while leaving us wanting more. And the path they went with the multiverse theory especially meta fiction was amazing in my opinion. It is totally different in tone but it’s closely interwoven with part i. It’s not how you said that the writer “dropped the ball” (btw the writer is Brit Marling who also stars as OA/Prairie) because they’ve planed the whole story as 5 part tale since the beginning. Part I was unique yes but Part ii is also equally amazing (albeit in a different way). It is after all a metaphysical film noir like the creators said but it still is a story about hope and human connection.
I feel like crying. I'm so happy ! I've literally watch the series 4 times. It's been so long

I read today that Netflix paid 100 million dollars for the streaming rights for those old episodes of Friends... All that money for jokes we heard 20 years ago. But for the bravest show in tv, the money runs out. Cancel Netflix.

I just watched season 1 today (March 10, 2019) and it mesmerized me. this is not just a show produced by fantasy but it is a masterpiece. So many tried to convey this imagination but nothing had so related like this. honestly, this show makes me wonder where did they get the inspiration. because I felt like sometime in my thoughts I've seen those dark place with stars like all around me. it was dark but I'm not afraid and I don't know why.

I think, or more like, feel, that this story comes from the invisible self itself. It doesn't matter whose invisible self, I think it comes from a sphere that is familiar to all of us. It just contains so much truth about our existence.

It seems different from the first season and was kind of surprised (if it is true) that they hop into the bodies of themselves in another dimension. That would make sense to me why maybe Homer when he died would show up in a hospital of sorts if thats where his counterpart in another world is. It will be interesting to see what the others and OA will do once they realize their in another world. Definitely excited to see where they go with it. I really hope Hap gets punished in some way.
