- These are the best scenes from Haeundae. It's is a South Korean movie directed by Yoon Je-kyoon. I think that it was never released in USA. May I say that this movie has one of the greatest disaster scenes I have seen.
For a movie I have never heard of, those were pretty good special effects.
Great scene. Definitely one of the best I've ever seen. It reminded me of Deep Impact, but the bridge segment and the focus on specific characters bring it to another level.
Like this movie, the 'man on the bridge with the falling container' scene is my favorite!
this is so REALISTIC !!!! .. way better than 2012 and The Day After Tomorrow !!! ........ PRAY FOR JAPAN ! ..
Fine! That's you're opinion and i respect from what you said because the day after tomorrow is futher realistic than this being made in 2004 and Haeundae 2009.
i like this film...make me feel scary.....thanks
0:37 (Toilet flushes)
Man: Ahhhh... What a relief...
(Sees tsunami)
Man: Well, Boss, I'm getting off work early.
This was an awesome movie........... The Koreans know how to make a movie.. great character development.. You could actually feel the plight of the people.. American flicks are so focused on special effects.... characters don't matter ..... but this movie was remarkable!!
I would honestly be dumbfounded awestruck breathtaken and speechless if I saw this
this is great!
I luv how at 4:41 the dude just ditches the old lady. He's all like fuck this, hope you can swim!
Best Scene of the movies
dang i was planning a whole day at haeundae beach when i visit, and this clip just scared me.. LOL.
0:07 Morning, Everyone!
*Sees tsunami*
I'm going back to bed.
this movie made me cry like a little kid every time i watch it! TT_TT
everything's gonna be so clean right after this
does this movie actually involve the whole citizen of Haeundae?
Wow its so Realistic!
@jackthayer there would only be debri from ships or waste in the see,
and the debri would be at a higher point in the wave,
nothing would be moved that much underneath the seabed
this is haeundae busan south korea my hometown! just sad~~
The wave wuld break far out to sea and a rising surge would hit the coast. It is physically impossible for the wave crest to tower over the shore like that. There's not enough water underneath it to support it by then. Also there's water's fluidity and the force of gravity to consider. It's only possible for the crest to reach so high before the wave starts thickening and layering. If you want to see what a massive tsunami really looks like. watch footage from Kessenuma or Sendai, Japan.
Pray for Japan... Suddenly i miss this scene T^T
what is this movie?
To be perfectly honest, after seeing so many Disaster Movies, if this ever happened I would be all like "What''s the point in running and screaming?" Like I can really outrun a tsunami, or a tornado or a meteor. What I would do is this. I would get on my knees, and pray. As the old saying goes "If I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take".
2:24.. FASCINATING!!!!!
and you forgot that tidal waves appear like a colossal flood, not a water wall with some spume on the top.
at the end, he survives, along with his child :)
if i was swiming that moment i would try to go towards it as fast as i can :)
this movie is representing the tsunami in japan
Let yourself fall forewards while keeping your hands to your side. If you manage breaking your nose, jaw or skull then you may be quite sure that you won't run off facing a raging tidal wave. Your survival instincts probably will take over. If not... surgeons perform miracles these days. ;-)
These movies never stop confusing a tsunami from a tidal wave lol. I dont think tsunamies are caused by the moon, last time I checked.
@Gurizin This takes place in South Korea, not Japan...
I think the scariest part was when the baby fell and cried. :’(
SPOILER: yeah, she and her dad (?) survives, as well as the kid and grandma in the bridge (despite being washed away). It's hard to believe that these four people DO survive the tsunami.
LOL!!! THE MOVIE WENT THROUGH FAR.... THIS KIND OF TSUNAMI IS SO IMPOSSIBLE TO HAPPEN!!!
if there was nothing, like no cars or buildings I'd be like WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
+PsGlobal: Scary thing is, an underwater landslide that was massive enough might do it. Tsunami nearly this big have hit land before, but did so way before there were humans around to record it. There's a nice big undersea slope in Hawaii that, if it ever went in one piece, might generate just this scene on the West Coast.
Girl wakes up omg mom. Mom says what? There is a tsunami. Moms like that's nice deer.
sometimes.. i don't even get why people bother running. XD
I think I had a nightmare like this once
LOL THIS PART MADE ME LAUGH!!! 4:11
Why couldn't the tsunami seqeunce in Deep Impact have been more like this?
1;56 Is the wave frozen or something?
@Gurizin haha you are funny... with your lightness
i love how in asian movies they can always find so man extras to run around as scream
I live in Haeundae since like 6 years, so weird seeing everything I know getting fucked
Cool stuf
On the bridge, I think the tsunami was going a little too slow.
So now I know why there are no gooners in the future
OH boy mother Earth got pissed and she is taking revenge
this actually scared me
@SimsStoriesAndSeries god bless all the people in this scene lol
1:32 blesss him. :'(
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!
@jackthayer lol i didnt say ppl in the city stood a chance against the wave tho?
Surf's Up Dude!
Petrifying!
Let's face it - a wave of that size hits land, nothing would be left alive for several miles inland. Your "average" earthquake generated tsunami is about 3-10 meters high and quite efficiently destroys anything not solidly anchored to bedrock. This wave was *200 meters* high. Nobody not in an aircraft would live to tell the tale.
Para el 20 de Mayo no se molesten en juntar agua... PORQUE VA A SOBRAR !!!!!
at this moment you dont need to run....
i never move to the beach forever
mute the sound and this and play Ocean Man while watching
OMG!
surf's up!
if you are in the sea better start going towards it
Oh yeah run away thats gonna help. lol
thats no wave, its a space station...
the skyscrapers looked like tokyo
Nav Emergency Tsunami
Wait, so that girl, who I'm guessing is 10, wakes up to see the tsunami. But there are people on the beach.
What 10 year old takes a nap in the middle of the day?
Read description, South KOREA not JAPAN
Best disaster film in my opinion :D
dude thats sad
1:00 LOL!!!
😒
But what they didn't know about... WAS ALL THE ZOMBIES IN THE WATER!!
@ROYALGREENJACKIT yes it could
Well, yeah...
The ending is really ironic in a way...
@vietman90210 it is cg dude.
@mzjadetrixie
From an earthquake? Not possible. From a landslide? Yes.
Good Lord what cause a wave the huge? No way that is the result of an earthquake.
the guy in 3:52 is in Tower, another disaster movie.
@jdswiney Ya think?
HORY SHET!
...and thats why i dont live next to the beach.........
only the fastest will survive! shit I'm screwed!!!!
OMG! 2:10
Sorry, but i think this is not the best tsunami movie scene i have seen.Sorry:(
Funny how there are no foreigner
Oye, it makes Cloverfield look like a movie about a big frog. Which is was.
Doesn't look like anyone in the cast survives. Bummer.
thats a slow wave...
Go to Korea they said it will be fun they said
@uguzman97
Kind of difficult for that to be true since this movie came in '09.
they want to live a few more seconds
Quelque chose me dérange dans cette vidéo. comme deux histoire superposée⁉️ sur la plage❓ certains cries
i have a dream a couple nights and it was like this horrible
not so entertaining NOW is it , god bless the good people of japan .
why i live in chicago.
@uguzman97 No it's not.
