Driving boats towards the tsunami waves is actually one of the best ways to avoid the tsunami damages. Many fishermen actually survived the 2011 tsunami in Japan. That's why they call the wave tsu nami, or harbor waves. Working fishermen on the sea get no damage, but when they get back to the harbor, everything is lost.
In the middle of the ocean, a tsunami isnt basiclly dangerous.. but when it gets to close to land, it will be more dangerous.. love the effects.. really good :)
+David Evans You'd be surprised. A lot of people actually do not know.Mostly those who stay near the beach or large water massses are trained but for those more inland who visit the beach don't really
David Evans Its similar. Geography deals with the structure or the earth and its atmosphere and our effects upon it. Geology its more focused on the structure of the earth, what its made of and its history like hold old it is
The wave is usually not more than a metre high out at sea, but as it nears the shore the front of it slows down in the shallow water and the back piles up on top of it, if that makes sense. A tsunami is at its highest moments before it hits the shore but unnoticeable on the surface of the water directly above the earthquake on the sea floor that causes it
Actually, if you're on the beach and the tide goes out that fast. It's already too late to try to escape/run. That's the initial wave trough hitting the beach. And, this does not always happen! The wave could strike without that initial drawback of the water.
If you are lucky enough to see the draw back you have roughly 5 mins minutes to get away from the beach unless it is a megatsunami which is traveling much faster 800 mph then you only have 3 minutes... But you are right if a wave is hitting during the negative part of its life cycle then there is no draw back
I knew about retracting water when i was like 6 from a book about natural disasters. I definitely would've seen it coming. My cousin and i once got knocked off our feet by an exceptionally large beach wave that came out of nowhere though. It washed well into the first row of beach guests and made all their stuff wet.
Same here! I read it in the school library, i was obsessed with natural disasters when i was a kid, i definitely would've high tailed it as soon as i saw the water recede.
Yes, there are, but there's always other people sayin' "They (the viewiers) won't care" or "They're too stupid to know what's real". Sad, but true. Even more sadly, they're too often right. Witness the popularity of that "Sharknado" crap.
Sadly when the drawback happens many people DO head out onto the exposed sand to investigate then get caught by the wave, until a few years ago very few people knew about this apart from scientists. Also for a boat or ship caught between the Tsunami and the shore atempting to ride over the wave is the ONLY chance of survival.
For real yes but here they made them go against eachother and by that they saved Boston because the main villian wanted them to go after eachother and destroy Boston . So it was made like this to save Boston and 5 million people
The theory is that you can ride the wave by approaching it if you are offshore (in a huge vessel), it has happened in real life. But they clearly exaggerated it in this movie
nowadays with even big hollywood blockbusters lacking in production value and creativity, i'm finding myself enjoying these low budget films more and more. there is something, shall i say, honest about them. no false pretense. you know exactly what you're going to get -- bad acting and the it's-so-bad-it's-good factor. Yet the actors and staff keep soldiering on to bring us these films. and when you really dig, there is a following here composed of people like me who appreciate it all.
lmao the scene with the small powerboat making it was so cheesy i couldn't stop laughing now I need to see that movie. Also, check how the black car is swaying left and right for added drama.
Good to see this so we know how spoiled we usually are with all the fantastic special effects in movies like Deep Impact, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, etc. Now we won't take good special effects and a 100 million dollar budget for granted. Go Hollywood!
i've been trying for so long to sing you the right song to show you something different everyday so you'll hear what i have to say like puzzle pieces now we're here at a stand still i wonder if you feel the kind of pain that rips your insides out thats something i know all about shocking ain't it is it because i cant be her made your mistakes and made me hurt i cant fix you is it because i cant be her made my mistakes and made me hurt i cant fix you 1 2 3 4 i can feel my heart breaking mistakes i've been making im running out of patience to pretend this is how i'll let it end my feelings fading you're been mourning your loss here and thats grinding my gears how can a human lose their self control there's nothing left to make you whole im done explaining
tsunamis of that size would be pretty big , but nearly as big as recorded ones on earth . there was one tsunami up around alaska that was so hugh you could place 2 empire state buildings on top of each other and it was still dwarfed
during the indonisian tsunami a couple who were on their honeymoon were scubadiving, they didn't notice anything while underwater, when they came back in, everything was ruined
Chuck Freeman i find it hard to believe that they didn't run as soon as the water disappeared, even if they didn't know what was happening they would be freaked out enough to run for it
Like with waves and the ocean. When the water washes up on the Beach its "advancing" or moving forward. When its washes back into the ocean its "receding" or pulling back.
Lesson to be learned from this...if you so much as see the ocean level drift back and recede from the bank at that speed, you DO NOT rush closer to it and be like 'OMG! this is crazy!' you get the FUCK out! XD

" the water doesn't retract that fast." Yes it does.
Especially if its a mega tsunami like that.
4:45 " I hope you can swim!" Man replies" I don't have my floaties here!"
Who the hell doesn't know that when the tide goes out, you get out.
+David Evans You'd be surprised. A lot of people actually do not know.Mostly those who stay near the beach or large water massses are trained but for those more inland who visit the beach don't really
TheDominator25 They should make it mandatory thing. I only know from watching disaster movies as a kid.
David Evans I know from geology class but people rarely ever take geology classes lol
TheDominator25 Is Geology class basically a Geography class? Because if it is then your not alone, I took Geography too :)
David Evans Its similar. Geography deals with the structure or the earth and its atmosphere and our effects upon it. Geology its more focused on the structure of the earth, what its made of and its history like hold old it is

i like how the guy in the car says "GET DOWN!!" ... urm.. yeah, like that is going to help lol
Thats what they say even when airplane is falling . It will avoid to get hurt more
Actually, if you're on the beach and the tide goes out that fast. It's already too late to try to escape/run. That's the initial wave trough hitting the beach. And, this does not always happen! The wave could strike without that initial drawback of the water.

Not true. 100% not true.
"RUN!!!!"
Yeah right. You see a wave like that on the horizon, you cant help but know you're fucked, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Thats why run when you see the water back thats a dark signal She s coming
I would have watched this so I am glad you gave us the review of the whole movie.
Wow! Natural disasters are crazy. Everyone I see floors me. It's been my favorite subject to make documentaries on for awhile now.
3:43 best acting I have ever experienced. The gripping drama and depth of these characters flows through the screen like diarreah.
Well you don't have to worry about wet dirty pants since you will be flooding.
I knew about retracting water when i was like 6 from a book about natural disasters. I definitely would've seen it coming.

That boat scene...haha are there not people who step up during the production of movies and say, "Guys...that is stupid as hell!" ?
Yes, there are, but there's always other people sayin' "They (the viewiers) won't care" or "They're too stupid to know what's real". Sad, but true. Even more sadly, they're too often right. Witness the popularity of that "Sharknado" crap.
Except that Sharknado basically knew it was stupid. Stupid was what they were going for.
"Sharknado. Because fuck you."
Sadly when the drawback happens many people DO head out onto the exposed sand to investigate then get caught by the wave, until a few years ago very few people knew about this apart from scientists. Wow...if these clips are the best part of the movie I thank you for sparing me the rest of it.
The CGI is amazing
That's impossible 2 tsunamis hitting each other... No way...!
For real yes but here they made them go against eachother and by that they saved Boston because the main villian wanted them to go after eachother and destroy Boston . So it was made like this to save Boston and 5 million people
I love how cheap scale hollywood shows the tsunami as a freaking huge wave, its supposed to be a surge of water - thanks for the post tho rofl
Good sincere effort. Thanks alot.
Thanks for putting it together, I definitely won't see it.
dude, this should be a major mortion picture! i love the story in the first scine and the waves actually look real! MAKE MORE!
A double tsunami? Impossible
The theory is that you can ride the wave by approaching it if you are offshore (in a huge vessel), it has happened in real life. But they clearly exaggerated it in this movie
with those 2 waves comin at me like that id be like... crap
this is really cool great job u are awsome make more please
As soon as you see the tide push back, you have no more then 2 minutes to get the fuck out of there!!
wk2k11 thanks Jesus once again your wise words shall guide stupid people, but for once it shall be supported by intelligent people that agree with you
Even the water in the pitcher receded! LOL!
nowadays with even big hollywood blockbusters lacking in production value and creativity, i'm finding myself enjoying these low budget films more and more.

I like how the wave is there at 3:35 and then by 3:37 it's suddenly gone.
I've had a nightmare exactly like Scene #3! It's so scary. I always have these kinds of nightmares, not always but yea.
lmao the scene with the small powerboat making it was so cheesy i couldn't stop laughing now I need to see that movie. Also, check how the black car is swaying left and right for added drama.
That bowl of pebbles at 2:19 looks awesome...just needs milk
point well taken, good vid
that looks so cool even though its just a movie
"Is that a wa...just gotta check the bringer if it is shaking...yep that's a wave. INCOMING!!! XO" lmao. That guy is in SAW 3-6 too
Good to see this so we know how spoiled we usually are with all the fantastic special effects in movies like Deep Impact, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, etc. Now we won't take good special effects and a 100 million dollar budget for granted. Go Hollywood!
The way they have to look at "shaking" water/beer to know whether the wave is coming reminds me of Jurassic Park when T. rex is coming. LOL
Thats comforting
thats so cool how john survived the killer wave!
It sure took the teen-aged couple on the beach a long time to react to the guy yelling for everyone to run.
two tsunamis coming in opposite directions???
give me strength
awesome
i cant believe they showed 2 tsunamis crushing into eachother in the middle of the ocean
those are some pretty sick scenes. looks like a spotty movie though.
Damn that lil boat getting it!!!!
Awesome
never knew that. thank for the tip.
10/10 special effects
I can hold my breath for 30 seconds!
that's one of the funniest parts of the movie lol
lol that was pretty exciting!!
you couldnt outrun that, lol at the speedboat going over it, yah right. that cruiser at the end got owned hardcore.
Well, it's no Megashark vs Giant Octopus, but it's fairly standard B-movie fare.
Thanks for posting it.
that crappy boat sure goes pretty fast
Oh men.. It looks so real.
i've been trying for so long to sing you the right song to show you something different everyday so you'll hear what i have to say like puzzle pieces now we're here at a stand still i wonder if you feel the kind of pain that rips your insides out thats something i know all about shocking ain't it is it because i cant be her made your mistakes and made me hurt i cant fix you is it because i cant be her made my mistakes and made me hurt i cant fix you 1 2 3 4 i can feel my heart breaking mistakes i've been making im running out of patience to pretend this is how i'll let it end my feelings fading you're been mourning your loss here and thats grinding my gears how can a human lose their self control there's nothing left to make you whole im done explaining
Buddy with the beard at 2:12 played in Saw 3, his wife had her head blown off at the end
tsunamis of that size would be pretty big , but nearly as big as recorded ones on earth . there was one tsunami up around alaska that was so hugh you could place 2 empire state buildings on top of each other and it was still dwarfed
Jesus Christ i live like 45 minutes from the jersey shore i pray to god nothing like this ever happens while i'm alive
You won't see a huge wave out at sea. It is only when it nears the shore that it increases height.
They are called Wall Waves. They had a documentary about them on Discovery Channel two years ago.
during the indonisian tsunami a couple who were on their honeymoon were scubadiving, they didn't notice anything while underwater, when they came back in, everything was ruined
whats hilarious is, as they drive the boat up the wave, it is breaking, so i dont know how that could of possibly gone over the top of it! hahahaha!
LOL. What a bad reaction to the water disappearing. What are the odds he finds the ring!?!?
What an epic show!
yep, lets keep the windows open when a tsunami is about to hit the car.
LMFAO!!! i literally cracked up laughing at your comment..i swear i was thinking the samething
tide so super speed! 0:59
I find it hard to believe that the couple standing there didn't run as soon as the guy yelled "RUN" and their friends took off.
Chuck Freeman
i find it hard to believe that they didn't run as soon as the water disappeared, even if they didn't know what was happening they would be freaked out enough to run for it
Boglenight
Good point!
That's not the tsunami, it's worst! It's the T Rex!
@Issus38 These high waves in the middle of the ocean are called "rogue waves".
yeah it's a tiny wave out in the ocean and they just go right over it. problem it on land it doesn't stop.
oh look! a tsunami! let's take out our motor boat for a spin! hooray!
Like with waves and the ocean. When the water washes up on the Beach its "advancing" or moving forward.
When its washes back into the ocean its "receding" or pulling back.
Rich, preppy annoying kids getting wiped out by a giant killer wave? High-five God! ;-)
what a boat.. :D
That scene with the boat was....what's the word, uh...realistic? Just surf and jump it! Yeah! GO! Seems easy enough.
a tsunami table top with a 19 foot bayliner.....nice
INTENSE. I don't care if it sucks, I want to see this movie.
someone ALWAYS falls...
i will not go to the beach to see a tsunami attack!
they say if you see the sea going out (like it does be4 a tsunami) then it's already to late...
i accually liked the movie. This is one of the only tsunami movies there is.
i are canadian and proud!!!
wow they just stand there even that they had 3 secs left to run
They make the waters look like a monster in this movie.
You know what...just don't mess up with Poseidon
Lesson to be learned from this...if you so much as see the ocean level drift back and recede from the bank at that speed, you DO NOT rush closer to it and be like 'OMG! this is crazy!' you get the FUCK out! XD
hahahahaaa I couldn't stop laughing the whole way through
two words : Holy Sh*t
anyways that was good sim
In the last scene those dude got owned ROFL!
wow, i've been in the situation like 5:30, justa regular wave tho... and it's fun
cool...
Ohh I tripped, Oh no here comes a fake ass wave . What are we gonna do!!!!!!
Hold on a second, just let me drive my boat up this tsunami.
yeah, that's the guy from saw 3 :))
Low budget tech. The tsunamis in DEEP IMPACT and 2012 a thousand times better done.
DivineSimply
Deep Impact: $80 million
2012: $200+ million
Killer Wave: $9 million
Surprise, surprise.
The Great Agitator Yup. Like I said, low budget.
DivineSimply
Mini TV-series ≠ big budget film
This comparison is flawed.
That was scary 😳
pelicula típica de los sabados por la tarde
Gotta love low budget made for TV movies / mini series
