Whistler’s Mother is the picture name. He was the artist…American-born James McNeill Whistler. My daughter had Molly, the American Girl doll, and a whole set of books of various other doll adventures. I passed them down to her daughter! Cindi (from WV)😊
Just some quick observations, I like how Andrea use the word “Hades“. 🔥 I could totally tell by the footage that all three of you had such a great time. It would be so fun for all of you, and for your UA-cam viewers to see you three get together again sometime in the future. Hi Kristen, please don't feel like a failure with your garden. I have learned that gardening depends on so much more than just you. The soil conditions, the weather, the amount of wind that you get, and it can differ from year to year. One year may be good for something and the next it won't grow at all. Very competent seasoned gardeners will tell you that. Btw, one thing you are VERY good at is putting your antique home together, I love your style, it is gorgeous!
Kristen, just to let you know we all feel the same way about you as you felt meeting your friends. You have a wonderful niche that is different from Amy & Andrea. I love how you find the gem in everything. Your style is hot right now, vintage resale is a huge thing. It’s getting more and more difficult to find deals because of the demand. My daughter's American doll dream.was to own Molly the 1945 Era doll. We couldn't afford to buy her one and we used to get catalogs in the mail of the dolls and she would play with the catalog making the dolls talk to each other. It broke our hearts. We saved up and eventually got her molly doll.we all had tears in our eyes that day. My daughter is now 40 years old and we often wish we still had molly.
From a 50 year old woman that has 3 kids and 3 grands, don’t compare. My Mimi said you will always find someone doing better and worse than you. Everyone is on the journey and some of us are at diff places on the road. I own my own photography business and been doing it by myself for 14 years. I just trained a girl that is 20 years younger than me and it has been life changing. She has diff approaches to things, she has a young vision that is refreshing. She is quicker with technology, tik tok lol, she’s very smart and creative but in a diff way than me. She also has learned so much from me being in the business for so long and how to handle things that come up with clients. She tells me i took her from no business confidence to feeling very assertive and knowing her worth. Two brains are always better than one. Differences in who we are make this world a better place. I’m so blessed to have her and my clients love her. Just the mama coming out in me. You are great at what you do! Watching you girls fellowship and enjoy a passion you share is fun to see. Us women need to have wonderful relationships to reach our full potential.

As a mom of three girls myself I totally understand your busy life. My girls are grown now with kiddos of their own so when I say enjoy your season with them I mean it time passes so fast. I love that you include God in you post to me He is the reason for our beauty inside and out which actually shows in our gifts to surround themselves in our lives. I also love the your cause to repurpose old well antique these that have such character and history. I live in southeast Georgia where the history here in our small rural area is a piece of my heart and soul. Keep up the great work!!!! My Grands call me NahNah. God's peace.
First, let me say that your hair looks SO pretty and I love your shirt. It's fun to see all of your finds. I love hearing what you said about being better at one thing each year. I've had a vegetable garden for 39 years. The last few years, I've had trouble with some of my vegetables, I have a hard time growing beautiful flowers like my friends. I'm feeling discouraged because I can't grow beautiful flowers without my dog digging in them, etc. I have to stop comparing myself to them and remember that there are things I can do well and things they do well. Your Bible was a great find. Love the blue cover and I also like the NIV version. It's easier to understand.

This was my first year gardening in Zone 8 Louisiana. It went okay. The best thing is that I learned what I did well, but also what I need to do better next spring. I was going to plant a fall garden but I broke my ankle 😅. So now I’m just studying and preparing for next spring. It will be better! Don’t give up!

I love that you bring color into your home. True country homes would not have been all white because of the manual labor that went on outside the home, the dust from the unpaved roads, and the smoke from the wood and coal fires. There would be no way for the women to keep up with the washing and dusting. I say, bring on the color.😊🖍

Kristen, as a 61 year old stay at home mother of 4 (my baby is now 28) and now a Mimi to 5 wonderful grandbabies I can tell you honestly that you are doing a wonderful job. I would also like to tell you that being good or great at something is all just perspective. You doing your best and the end result not living up to your expectations is not failure. Failure is the lack of trying at all. God gives us many talents but our purpose is much more important than our gifts or talents. You are being the best you, mother, wife, friend, servant of the Lord you can be. That is what you should strive for. We do often compare ourselves to others but trust me, that grass is not always greener and most of the time has shallow roots. With the first flood it will wash away. So, keep being your wonderful self and try not to worry about anyone else. They are not the ones needing you day in and day out like your friends and family. God bless

Thank you for another inspiring video, Kristen! You asked about the American Doll Books. My daughter’s had several of the books when they were young & they enjoyed reading them… over & over. The youngest of my two daughters is now 29 yrs. old (a Nurse, married, no children yet) & she getting ready to part with her American dolls & all of the beautiful outfit sets, the books, etc. It’s difficult to think of seeing these things go as I still so clearly remember my parents buying & giving many of these things to our girls throughout the years for Christmas & Birthdays! ‘twas JOY! ~So thankful the joy still shines brightly in the way of memories! Your mentioning the AG dolls brought me to a very sweet place of reflection & gratitude tonight! My parents were awesome people. Always, Kristen, you amaze me! ~Gratitude~

That Bible is absolutely beautiful and so usable. Dang about the green mark. I've watched Amy for years and have followed you for a while and now I subscribed to Andreas channel. Your decorating is unique in that you aren't doing all "the cookie cutter homes" that no longer look like homes but places of business. I'm 68 and have been collecting for a very long time and am very eclectic. I loved all of y'alls videos and finds. Whistler’s Mother is a very famous painting…the original housed in a Paris museum..although it travels to be loaned to other museum exhibits. Nice find.

I have now subscribed to both Amy and Andrea’s channels. Now I can spend more time on You Tube. I know Amy is living in Ohio. Which is where I lived until four years ago. I now live in Georgia. And maybe the reason your garden didn’t make it was the weather. This has been the hottest summer since we moved here. I’m hoping it cools down soon. I saw some of the prices at the first antique store. And they were kind of pricy. I’m used to thrift store prices too. There are a few antique stores in the small town close to us. And I have to remind myself they are antiques not someone else’s donated items.

The print "Whistler's Mother" that you found has an interesting story. When Whistler was starting, the model he chose did not show up so his mother sat for the painting!!! I've been gardening for years and have killed plenty of plants. Yes, I've gotten discouraged and sometimes wanted to quit, BUT I didn't. Gardening is trial and error. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. So, I encourage you to keep at it with the understanding that sometimes your garden doesn't always turn out the way you had hoped. You'll discover, should you continue, the plants that work best for you. My nemesis plants are summer squashes...yellow and zucchini. In the past I have grown them and the bugs decimated my plants. I quit growing squash for a few years. This year, I tried again, same thing. Failure. I got a few squashes off the plants, but I've decided growing squash just doesn't work for me. I'm done, BUT I'm not going to quit growing other vegetables. I think you get "my drift".
