Great overview, love your work. I’m in the Canon world and mostly focus on stills, but I got massive respect for the GH5 and now the S1H . Amazing cameras!
I've been waiting for this type of comprehensive review. and also some extended, intentional, well composed video. The things that excited me about this camera still hold true, particularly DR and colors. It seems so far that the DR is near or at what was promised. Most likely, this will be the last camera purchase of the year for. And some bodies are on the way out. Thanks. :D
Hey Mario - if you switch on the "lock" button on the back (left side) you will prevent your camera from changing any settings when its engaged. That way if you accidentally move the shutter dial, it wont actually change the setting. I now leave the lock button active on a shoot, since I am usually at iso 640 and change my f-stop manually.
yeooo, good stuff. that taco bit got me, hah. photos look amazing. few questions. 1.) you're using sigma lenses, correct? is that the 50-100 1.8? 2.) with photo, are you using AF or MF? If you're using AF, any issues? 3.) colors look great, are you using a specific lut with those orrrrrr? amazing stuff. keep it going!
Tacos are life haha and yes only sigma lenses that was the sigma 105mm sigma 1.4 for photos. But I do own that lens also. For photos I was using af. No issues but at times it was hunting very little I think my lens had dust in front of it..but the other day it gave me no issues. For luts I usually have a standard rec 709 I made when I started with gh5 for base and then I tweak It from there depending on mood of video

Sorry for not being clear! How many minutes does your card (128gb for example) last at the 4k 10bit internal codec? And do you have any play with the sigma mc-21 adapter? Thanks for the help!
@@haiderromeroperez9015 no worries man I do the same thing at times haha and 4k 60fps at 10bit last- 1hour and 21min and no play with the sigma mc 21 adapter
Got one question. Im considering switching to the S1H from my 5D IV since i shoot a lot of stills and video, but dont want to carry two cameras. Do you think that the s1h can hold up as well as the Canon cameras in terms of stills? I know for video it will blow canon away.
It all depends on what kind of stills you are shooting..if its regular stills you should be fine but if your going sports or weddings I would probably keep that canon as its alot faster for movement shots more reliable..I use my s1h for photos when I'm controlling the subject not for movement...canon is alot more reliable..hopefully that helped

I had ask Bloom about this and sad “maybe because of Sony pay you” he get so angry... after trash sad some thing like “I can’t buy & review every camera on market. If you want review from me send this camera to me”
Honestly this S1H is a camera you wont see alot of youtubers make reviews on. The s1h is not a youtuber camera...I view the s1h as a true filmmakers cinema camera..alot of youtubers want great auto focus which this camera doesnt have and they dont display alot of videos they focus more on youtube...I'm a mix I film alot of production in los angeles but also started making youtube videos with actual results hands on of the product...s1h is a beast but also sadly panasonic doesnt invest on youtube as I seen. They focus more on films. Sony is all UA-cam I seen

You can switch the shutter dial to the other one. That's what I did for my S1H. Made my life so much easier.

I'm glad I could help..i love this camera thus far..I didnt expect to handle the colors and have dr like the eva1 cinema camera...worth the price.

You're of the few who can actually make V log look good i.e no magenta. Please share your colour workflow before I get rid of this S1h LOL

These are two opposite cameras..the canon will win in auto focus but in terms of grading and quality for video the s1h wins

Thanks my guy. I use all sigma prime lenses. But also these two zoom lenses. Sigma 18-35mm and sigma 50-100 1.8 lenses

what are your ibis settings
I have it in normal ibis setting and when I want to enhance it I put on the boost i.s mode but only use that for stable shots

It all depends on what your shooting. The most versatile lens for me is the 24mm

@@dev8996 most of my films are filmed with the sigma 18-35 art, 50-100 art, and the sigma 24mm art..I have alot of lenses but those 3 are my go too
