My wife is super supportive of my skateboarding addiction. Wouldn’t be able to do any of this without her, and luckily I had plenty of time before the party. I put family before anything but skateboarding is in second place lol
i've ordered a few blanks through socalskates lately because i've been experimenting with shapes and a good portion of theirs are from bbs as well, which is my preferred manufacturer. i've got a 9.0 with 14.5wb that's slightly egg shaped, but i don't know what brand's decks that shape correlates to. i've also got a 9.0 pop with 15wb and that's basically the shape any brand uses if it's 9 wide and around 15wb (for example: Anti-Hero, Krooked). dunno if they carry any symmetrical shapes though, haven't looked too closely at anything other than the dimensions i ride. they're not as inexpensive as skatesamples, but it's still a good way to find a board for relatively cheap if you're trying things out and don't want to put the money towards a graphic that's going to scrape off on a deck that you paid twice as much for and might not even like anyway.

Only problem is that I’m in the uk and the shipping was so expensive it’s not viable. It’s actually still cheaper for me to buy a heroin egg here in uk. For some reason the blank deck market in the uk is really poor. Anyway, I love there symmetrical egg shape, super versatile.

I do, but I only buy shit that's on sale. Usually 50%/60% off. The only decks I pay more than $50 for are VX or Flight. But I also don't really give a shit what I ride. Have everything from 8" popsicles to 10.5" shaped decks with 16.5"+ wheelbase.
Ended up ordering 1 popsicle, 1 egg and 1 other shaped board. Board madness is a legit issue right now lol Went from the Andy Anderson heron 2 egg to a heroin 9.5 double shovel to their 9.25 swampy to a Welcome 9.5 Boline 2 and now these. I need help hahahaha

I was literally about to order the same deck from BBS, I talked to them because I wanted to see if they would make a 8.38 egg shape w/ twin tails and they said they could do custom shapes too..
That 5-0 front shove looked too easy to be ur first, too smooth! One of my favorite tricks to do since i was a kid til now. Next up, front 5-0 regular shove or front 5-0 to tailslide. And Its hard for me to support my favorite skate companies if no one wants to make 7.75's or my beloved 7.625's anymore. Oh look, Generator carries them both! ADD TO CART
Dude I think maybe a year and a half or so ago I was trying 5-0 back shove out but my wheel kept hitting the ledge and doing a flip. Maybe time to revisit that trick soon 🤔

Best advice I can give is start doing cardio 3-4x a week, work on your core and getting that explosive energy for skateboarding. I did @jumpropedudes beginner exercises for a solid year when I was getting back into it. Also try to get good sleep and nutrition, once you get your skate legs back it’s way easier but that initial year or so can be a steep climb. Just don’t give up! 👊
Does this shape come in 8.75? Im a small dude but LOVE the egg shape n i wanna ride them religiously frm now on but paying $100+ in my country for em every 2-3 months is not financially wise. Edit: nvm i checked their website they only have the 9.1 for the egg shape
I just replaced my cruiser setup w an egg and i like it way more than i thought i would... that said i always end up w a front and back one truck is always tighter than the other. I'd say its a real problem, but i think im going to be okay😂😂😂

So sick. Just got a couple of these blanks the other day, and saw this video put up. How do the AF1 55’s feel with it? I was contemplating between running my Indy 159’s (8.75, currently on my Vilani egg), but if AF1 55’s aren’t too tucked in, I may use those since I have the hollows. Could lighten things up a little to offset the 9”.
I have a bit of the magic carpet going on rn but I really like the way the board feels. I could go up to an 8.75 axle but I don’t want to buy new trucks lol I already have a shoebox full of random truck parts from past experiments

Yeah, I bought the ten pack a couple months ago & went through at least 6 in ~3 months if I remember correctly. I do a lot of disasters and flip tricks so I do put my boards through it, but I have definitely noticed these boards aren’t up to par with non blank, normal BBS boards (which I skate exclusively) The wear usually manifests itself as the bottom ply cracking first and it’s been consistently happening on all the boards I skated from them
When I say cracking, I don’t mean pressure cracks by the way. The only way I can describe it like it looks like I chipped the board, but not on the side, in the middle. It’s weird asf
the board madness is real. as an older skater, keep up what you are doing. it gives me motivation to skate, just for fun.

When you buy blanks are you able to choose the colors on the plys? (I personally believe purple plys are stronger)
