    Hi Jonathan, I just bought one about a week ago and am loving it! I have small hands so for me it is super comfortable. Tried a squire 60's vibe out first but once I tried out the player fender there was no doubt in my mind which one I wanted. Just wish I could play like you

    Beautiful tone! Really enjoy listening to your playing. This Mustang appears to sing well in your hands. That '84 picture was excellent! I think the smile you have when handling this one reminds of that. I recently grabbed a Squier Duo-Sonic in Ice Blue Metalic, for the shape, bright memories of the era. The neck is heavy gloss, which is the only off-putting detail, everything else is very much smile inducing.
    Keep playing with so much heart!

    i love the mustang body shape. i have two fender mustang bass guitars. a '65 reissue mustang bass and a modern mustang bass. my wife still doesn't understand why i need to have two instruments that are almost identical.
    i like this new series of mustang (and duo-sonic) guitars from fender, but the pickups have too much top end "bite" for me.

    Praise the sky that drilling 6 holes for this instrument has only increased its price by $ 500 compared to Squier! Squier's simplified bridge - without strings-through-body - enriches the sound with extremely disgusting extra tones and completely resets the value of a pretty decent woodwork!
    Saying something about women and the mensure of a 24 "string is inappropriate if, thanks to the normal-sized Strat, inflammation of the joints has been enjoyed for more than 30 years.

It had to be set up I did it myself not too bad of a player for what I got in it. I would recommend. For the price of the squire. I like my Harely Benton G3 better for the pice though. They are both just OK. I like my Firefly copy of the Gibson 335 its acaually called the firefly 338 its really really great player. I would definately reccomend to amatures and pros. Jonathan, it's about two years since you posted this video. Sorry I'm late, but I have a question -- I have seen from other websites that the Mustang neck itself -- not the scale length, just the neck itself -- is no shorter than a Stratocaster neck (in fact it's actually a bit longer). So the short scale length is due to the bridge being located so far forward. So the neck, the fingerboard, doesn't feel any shorter to you? Or does it? I am wondering about this.

    • @JonIsJustTooLoud
      @JonIsJustTooLoud  2 роки тому +1

    What are the differences between mustang and lead II?

    • @JonIsJustTooLoud
      @JonIsJustTooLoud  2 місяці тому

      The Fender Mustang and the Fender Lead II are both electric guitars from Fender, but they have distinct differences in terms of design, features, and intended use. Here are some key differences:
      ### Fender Mustang:
      1. **Origins and History**: Introduced in 1964 as a student model guitar.
      2. **Body Shape and Size**: Compact, offset body shape, typically smaller than the Lead II.
      3. **Scale Length**: Shorter 24-inch scale length.
      4. **Pickups**: Usually comes with single-coil pickups, often in a distinctive slanted configuration.
      5. **Controls**: Typically features dual on-off phase switches for each pickup and a master tone and volume control.
      6. **Bridge**: Features a floating bridge with a dynamic vibrato system.
      7. **Popular Use**: Favored in alternative, punk, and indie rock genres.
      ### Fender Lead II:
      1. **Origins and History**: Introduced in 1979 as part of the Fender Lead series, aimed at providing a more affordable, versatile option.
      2. **Body Shape and Size**: More traditional double-cutaway body shape, slightly larger than the Mustang.
      3. **Scale Length**: Standard 25.5-inch scale length.
      4. **Pickups**: Typically equipped with two single-coil pickups.
      5. **Controls**: Features a three-position toggle switch for pickup selection, and a two-position toggle for phase switching, along with master volume and tone controls.
      6. **Bridge**: Hardtail bridge (fixed bridge) without a tremolo system.
      7. **Popular Use**: Known for its versatility, suitable for various music genres, including rock, pop, and blues.
      Overall, the Mustang is often seen as a more niche, vintage-inspired instrument with unique tonal characteristics and a distinctive playing feel due to its shorter scale length and vibrato system. The Lead II, on the other hand, is designed to be a versatile, workhorse guitar with more traditional features and broader appeal.

Whether those are shoes, handbags, motorcycles or guitars, everybody needs some unnecessary things to dream of. What preference doesn't matter, it is the dream itself that creates drive/motivation to go forward in live and don't stay still. If you have nothing to dream of you're dead! @@guenterbortz5957 u r right. Anyway I prefer the unnecessarinness of a strat or a tele. And way back of this one. But such guitar nowadays from a company's aspect cannot be else just business and PR (not PRS).
      If u make this kind at home I say ok.
