I heard this on the radio live from Salzburg, purely by accident, and before I was really into early music. Stayed transfixed with my ear glued to the radio for over three hours and melted into tears of happiness listening to this joyous acceptance of love. Thanks for uploading it!
My pleasure. That video was my introduction to Monteverdi (I decided to have a go at it only because of Allen) and I fell in love with this music (yes, even in this arrangement!).
You shouln't have started this discussion - I've now been listening to various recordings of this fragment (starting from "Del tuo casto pensiero") again and again... But it is such a beatiful moment! [sob, sob]
Well, I think there's enough of "is-he-or-is-he-not-the-one" here; no need to add even more uncertainly for poor Penelope. So some cuts yes, but Martin Guerre not necessary ;) By the way, I love when Kuhlmann's face here gradually lights up as Ulisse describes their bed and she realises that he's indeed her husband...
Oh, I get it now. Well, this does offer some interesting possibilities... Though I'd change "I don't care whether or not he's my husband" into "Please, please gods, let it be my husband!!!" ;-) As for cutting stuff out - I'd cut out all the gods except Minerva, who is needed in one or two scenes (and can tell us briefly what the other gods decided, if necessary)

Eine Perfektion ❤
Does someone can share a complete recording of this performance? 😍

Yes, it is. I've some used ones on Amazon.
Depends what you mean by "misbehave"...:) I don't even want to think what misbehaving mood that scene might get you into...
R.I.P. Sir Jeffery Tate!!!
Oh dear! ;-)

Is this out on DVD (yet)?
I was just wondering about illegality in this case...;-)
It's not boringly virtuous - it's just being slightly less explicit ;-)
What's illegal in his facial expression there?
