- Hi all, welcome to a new studio vlog! I take you with me as a full time artist and share a usual day in my life. I run through my to-do list, tidy my desk, show you how I create my social media graphics as well as showing some painting as I finish a spread inspired by the ocean! I hope you enjoy watching! The painting of the ocean and sea creatures is so beautiful!!! You have a fantastic eye for colours and textures :)
Oh that's so kind of you, thank you so much 🥰
I have to admit, photoshop is the bane of my existence. Being 67 years old, I don't think I will ever become proficient. But I am total awe of your process! Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you so much 🧡 I totally get that! I've been working with Photoshop for 15 years now so I know it really well, but I tried a different program recently and it was a nightmare 😂
Oh I loved this type of video!! Thank you for sharing a bit of your BTS! 🥰
Aw thanks so much Jaclyn! 🥰
Loved watching your vlog Katie :)

So interesting to see a little bit of your day/process Katie ❤
Thank you so much for watching Teresa 🥰
that final mixed media piece looks so fun! I really need to create like that more often ☺
Aah thank you, it really was so fun to work on! It's nice to just use everything and enjoy the process for sure 😊
This gives such great insight into the dedication needed by artists. 😄
Oh thank you so much! 😊
Was thinking that as well. Thanks for sharing your process! 💙
very good idea making little icons for your patreon members, might have to do something similar if i ever open a patreon🙂
LOVELY ocean piece, great colours!
Thank you so much! It's such a lovely way to visualise the community, I recommend it if you do! 🥰
how fun Katie, thanks for posting
Thank you so much for watching! 🥰
So enjoyed watching this vlog! I don’t have photoshop although I’d love to get it in the future. Love that ocean painting at the end too 🐟
Thank you so much Emma 🥰 I use Photoshop everyday but it can have a bit of a learning curve to it! Thank you for watching 💜
What is that plant book with the illustrations? It's awesome! And girl, you have more energy than me! But I'm alot older than you lol!
Haha thank you so much! The book is called 'A Companion to British Wildlife' - I picked it up from a second-hand bookshop recently and it's been so helpful for referencing!
So pretty Katie!!!!! Those pops of neon bright colors, which one are those?
Thank you so much! Which ones do you mean? I can look up the shade names for you if you let me know 😊 (or maybe a timestamp?)
@@KatieMoody oh perfect! Time stamp 17:54 it’s the colors on the crab and around it! Also which ones are the pencils that you dipped in water? Thank you so much again!!!!
@@ungriacastillo So sorry for the late reply Ungria, I've been on holiday! The ones dipped in water are the Derwent Inktense pencils, and I used these colours mostly (including for the crab!) Thistle 0720 and Fuschia 0700 for the pinks and purple, Tangerine 0300 and Sherbert Lemon 0100, and a mix of blues for the sea including Lagoon 0720, Sea Blue 1200 and Deep Indigo 1100! 😊
@@KatieMoody thank you so much!!!!!!
What make/ type of watercolour pencils did you use on the underwater picture? they really nice colours 😊
Thank you so much! I used Derwent Inktense pencils, and some Stabilo Woodys! They are also linked in the description box 😊
