Best video I’ve seen on installing T posts using T-post connectors. You showed the process up close . I also loved how you explained the wave at top or bottom of fenced and how to correct. Nothing difficult. Keeping it a simple to understand installation. 👍🏼
@@kingyart The wooden posts would be a more proper way of doing a gate, but since this is kind of a Mickey Mouse DIY PROJECT! You can actually make a gate without wooden posts and just use the T posts. I cut the fencing on one side where I wanted the gate to open. Then took two 3/4” wooden fence planks and stapled each one to each side of where the fencing is cut at. Then you can add whatever type of latch attached to the wood planks to keep the fence together across the driveway or walkway. Undo your latches and just pull the fencing back out of the way to get into your driveway or yard. It’s the poor man’s way of getting the job done without having to spend much money and not having to waste much time. This is what I did when I wanted my chickens pinned in on my side yard . I put loops on the side where it was next to a T post so the fencing just not flopping in the wind. Then made hooks that mounted to the plank that was connecting to the fencing you want to open. Then just had to raise the fencing a little to drop the hooks into the loops to close up the fencing. Lift the fencing back up to take the hooks out of the loops to open the fencing back up! Very simple and quick and cost very little to do!

Great video with excellent tips! It's not exactly what I was searching for, but it certainly points me in the right direction. I live in a tiny northern AZ town, and we've got plenty of elk, javelina, and other wild critters. My goal is to keep my dog inside rather than having him on a long leash when we're outdoors. He's got a knack for chasing after anything that moves. My house sits on a hill, and the yard is quite sloped and uneven. Your advice on how to angle a fence like this will be a huge help. This is exactly what I needed. I need to put up a cheap fence around my garden and this is something I can do. Thanks for the info! I love getting to the meat 🍖 and potatoes 🥔 of the video up front.
I used zip ties for my fence 3yrs ago and each year some do break and I just put new ones on in those spots. I made gates from a pieces of hog panel, leaving the pieces of wire on one side to bend around the T post like hinges with the gate being wider than the opening so it braced on the other side by the fence and I used a bungee or chain to keep it closed. I did need to put welded wire on it so the small dogs could not go through the holes. It works pretty good once you tweek the bent wire to move on the post easy and you can make a wide gate just as easy as a narrow one. The only downside is it does not move as freely as a real hinged gate but it is functional.
This was exactly what I’m looking for and achievable. Also very much appreciate that you make it simple and get straight to it. Off to the hardware store now with a plan 👍🏻

This was also what I needed right now to keep my 15 lb., white dog from turning black on the mud and dirt on the 5’ slope to the privacy fence. This one is overkill, but I’ll shorten it, plus, I’m only 4’ 9” tall and can’t step over it. This feisty guy has a big ego, and thinks he’s going attack the two huge dogs behind us. I’m sick of giving him a bath twice a day! I foresee your channel growing to a large number soon!
Good video, thanx. A couple of things: when twisting and wrapping wire ends, ensure the wire end are pointing away from the livestock side. Those posts are U-posts, not T-posts. You will probably replace the U-posts by T-posts when it becomes permanent.
Great video! And thank you for going straight to the meat and potatoes. I tried watching a 6 minute video and the first 3 minutes were having to sit thru him being cute for the camera. I'm doing this fence on my own so I appreciate your detail.
Thank u SO much for this video!! I subed. Very helpful. I'm installing this type of fence today in my side yard for my dog and it's not the flattest land. Not horrible but still some bumps. So the tips for sure helped! Thanks again!
Thank you for the video. Used many of your recommendations. The welded wire fence was the way to go versus chicken wire. I agree with unrolling the fence, I didn't like that part. Thanks for all the tips made the project go smooth.
This type of fencing can be very strong. Ranchers and farmers use this to keep livestock in. 4x4' wooden corner posts and stretching it tight (using multiple methods) can make this fence a permanent solution. We have a little min-ranch with 10 1/2 acres and the perimeter is fenced with this as well as cross-fenced. Perhaps that's the next video?
I really appreciate the lack of unnecessary valueless talking, thank you for getting right to it and being easy to understand.

Thank you!! You have no idea how much you just helped me!!
Excellent, perfect. This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm building a simple fence around a garden out in the country.
I certainly hope it is as easy you make it look!! Thank you for such excellent instructions!!
Thank you!! I was dragging my feet because I also want the pretty wood post /frame look, but need to get the dog fenced in so I can work outside! This is the motivation I needed. Looking forward to more videos! :)
So easy to understand. Thank you. Need a quick fix to secure the swimming pool because the winter cover has some seams wanting to split and the Italian Greyhounds run across the cover. Now I can quickly with low budget fix this problem for now
Thank you very much for your video. I just bought a house and need a quick fence. Great video!
Post wire fasteners were the play great tutorial man!
I hadn’t done this before but I have a project that I’m actually about to start. Thank you for the information you shared, it will definitely help out
Thanks man. Used this for ours last night. Very helpful and I love all the "practical" comments. (yeah, the instructions say X, but you really can do Y).
So glad I stumbled on this video.... I was trying to figure out a solution to protecting my Halloween graveyard display, I was going to put out this yr from the dog.... I wanted something that wasn’t permanent and wasn’t going to take a lot of time to build and take back down as it will only be used from Sept-Oct
Thanks Blake. Keep it going. You are doing just fine. I am dealing with welded wire now as well. Cheers from Canada!💯🇨🇦🍁 P.S. Enjoy the short bloopers as well. Your sense of humour is appreciated.💪🙏
Needing to build a fence around my garden and this is exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you! I’m sure I can get everything I need at my local Tractor Supply store, but it may be helpful, in the future, to let us know where you get your materials. Thanks again!
I got everything at Lowe’s.
thanks this illuminated the whole u post fence thing for me. just bought some yesterday for a property line and had about as much idea how to do it as the home depot guy trying to help me. -___- this stuff is great for runner plants like passion vine and morning glory. (food and ornamental)
BWB.....GOOD JOB....not alot of talking....most appreciative for that just the essential details...lessons learned thanks for sharing
There's a company called LockJawz that makes a great wire clip for T-posts (not the garden posts you used). Easy enough to install that my 9 year old nephew was able to help us put in fencing for our chicken runs.
Thank you soooooo much for this info! As a soon to be old woman, I need all the ease I can get when working around my place! I will be using these clips for my next fencing project!
Thanks. This really helps out a lot! I thought it wasn't possible to do it without any digging.
I have been searching for a good installation video for welded wire for a few years. This is the BEST by far! Thank you so much for posting. I'm subscribed and I hope you do more instructional videos, but I'm sure I'll enjoy your other videos as well. Love your style.
This video was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you for your time!!!
Great video! And thank you for going straight to the meat and potatoes. I tried watching a 6 minute video and the first 3 minutes were having to sit thru him being cute for the camera. I'm doing this fence on my own so I appreciate your detail.
That’s stuff drives me nuts in a how-to.
@@BuildingWithBlake I finished the fence in about 2 hours (50 feet) and felt really confident. My first one! I might be addicted already!
@@SloMo828 Awesome!
finally, a fence i can build with my own tools and skill set! Thanks!
Thanks for the video! The variations in terrain and tools for beginner level is extremely helpful
So glad I decided to research and found this video. I totally had it wrong in my head 😅
Thank you for this video!! Best fence video I've watched yet.
Exactly what I needed. Huge area to fence for shih tzus. Will trellis it after so appearance isn't important. Thank you so much!
Dude you just saved me $3000. ❤ thank you!!!
This was really helpful! It's always nice to be able to see it done before proceeding :)
Great video Blake! This is best video I have found on utube for mesh fencing.
