This is the sound I’ve been looking for all these years. Hope these come to the UK with a price that doesn’t require the sale of a kidney. Awesome demo too, thanks Michael
Hey Michael! :) I bought a Bogner Fish in early 1992 from Make'n Music and saw Eddie's check on the wall for this amp! The Hafler, which they also had, was very thin sounding in comparison but I really, really liked the Groove Tubes preamp, especially Channel 3. Great sounding track as always!
This sounds really good. Reminds me of Ty Tabor “Johnny Guitar”. Learned for a new band and I picked it lol. Then I had to learn it. Was easy, but it’s the tone, and dynamics……..whoa!!!! You 13:08 just hit THE button! Damn! 🤯🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Michael long time follower and the amazing thing is that your videos and playing just get better and better. Always fired up when you release a new video.
Badass! Besides being a big AIC fan, the legend of the snorkeler has fascinated me since I first read Ronnie's post about it on Gearslutz. Btw I'm always impressed how good P-90s sound with high gain. That Shabat sound killer!
Your opening demo some sounded as good as any production for that music that I have ever heard, and this is off my cell phone😮 the mix, the guitar tone, the effects on it, good lead tone great rhythm tone.
Holy hell! I don't know what's better, that Bogner has finally done a proper Snorkler amp release, or this intro song. Killer job Michael @BigHairyGuitars! Those tones got some killer Cantrell vibe!
I have never heard of a Bogner Snorkler before this video. What a hilarious and great name for any amp. Your playing and composition, as always, are beyond elite. Thanks!
the triple giant 😮 I had one, it was a hot jcm 800,, and the brown sound,, it was to much mine Eddy van Helen for me to play metal with it. lol great pre-amp for its day🤠
This is why I love your videos... Lots of chording, rhythms, arppegiations. Not endless soloing. Of course I love shredding but we play rhythm 90% of the time and when trying to gauge a new Amp or product you want to hear the chords ring.
Around 95 I played a Bogner modded Marshall in a small Music store Aacher Strasse in Cologne Germany that reminds of the Snorkler. The Shop Owner was really exited and convinced me to play it. All I could think was : WOW…didnt had the money at the time.
This would be a smash 🎉hit as a Snorkeler mini but with tube preamp 🕶🤘🎵 sick as always Mr. Nielsen may have to check out the Rick instrumental course....😊

Cool, I’ll never be able to afford one but, it’s definitely awesome to be able to go out and buy this almost mythical beast. I’ve always thought Jerry’s tone on Facelift and Dirt were right up there with the best heavy guitar tones ever, right up there with VH 1 brown sound.
@@madsenamplification I don’t believe I’ve ever listened to him, I know he was with Ozzy for a while and I’m sure I’ve heard songs he’s played on. I’m rambling now but I definitely need to check out some of Holmes stuff.

I’m going to vote Motörhead was the loudest. I saw them in New Jersey with Maiden and Dio. They made my ear pop and it leaked. I was center stage. Weird but true. 😂
I agree with you on Motorhead being the loudest. I saw them at a theater in Stuttgart, Germany, and it was absolutely insane. I wore ear plugs and my ears were still ringing after the show lol. Second loudest would probably be Wolves in the Throne Room.
Here’s one I was playing music in Seattle in the late 80s (I was 19, or 20). We used to play with Love Bone, Alice, Nirvana, etc. Nothing’s Shocking was out, but I think Alice was recording Facelift. I went into my local amp tech (Soft Sience) and sitting in the shop is this Marshall chassis. I ask him what it was and he told me it was the amp Nothing’s Shocking was recorded with and that Alice had been using it. I thought wow, that’s pretty cool. It was “the amp.” Here we are 35 years later. Jeez. Not sure, knowing those guys back then, I can’t help thinking the Snorkler is a reference to some illicit activity
6:12 - that modded Marshall was a 4010 JCM-800 50w combo, converted into a head. 7:52 - between the Fish and Ecstasy there was the Caveman amp series. I believe the Shiva amp (and the Schizo switch) is the last remnant of that era.
When I first heard the Fish pre, I couldn't afford it but I've got the fish tattoo instead :D This was a good 30 years ago, and still this is my only tattoo!
The amp was originally an epic sounding Marshall combo that Champagne rented and had Bogner mod it after some convincing as Bogner was gettimg resdy to relesse a line of amps. The combo was changed into a hesd. I've plugged into that amp a few times and it is, in a word: Infuckingsane!!! The new Bogner, that seems to sound pretty damn good isn't nearly as hot as the original which also has insane headroom!
this is the best amp demo i've seen in years, that thing sounds insane.
The Bogner sound will always be what Cantrell needs
Based on his current rig rundown, seems like he thinks so, too!!!
This has haunted my dreams since I got to play it at yours!

Snorkler was an homage to the massive quantities of cocaine being consumed in LA.

Outstanding tones.
Absolutely great opening tune!
His tone is always absolutely stunning. He has crazy feel and touch on the guitar as well.
Bogner voicings across the whole amp range is always amazing

That intro song! That low-end! Those chords! Magic!!!

Magnificent intro! Great amp, great vid..
