That 2008 to 2012ish era of COD was unbelievable
Real talk
Real ish!
Unbelievable ass
BO1 was my life
Definitely!
Being casual and good is exhausting because I only get cracked lobbies but only play 10 hours a week. Makes me not want to play for sure
This is the issue I have with COD, I'm not like pro level or anything close to it. But I'm above the average player in multiplayer not battle royal. Welp now in the new cod every single lobby I'm in is ridiculous cracked. If I don't give it 💯 I get my shit pushed in. I literally have to play sweaty AF or it's not even fun.
Similar to you. Not amazing at the game I sit at about 1.8kd only play a few hours a week now. Some days I will literally play 3 or 4 games and just be completely out matched and just turn it off.
@@MelsonSamdela I really wish they would do something about it. Sadly they won't
It's sad when switching to pc is the better option if you want to combat fast response times
Yall suck if tall is 1.8 n 1.5 kd tryna play people who dont kno the buttons
It’s true I’ve been getting this feeling as well. Sometimes touching grass is good for the body
Deeeeeep 🧐

This dude said sometimes lmao
Hard Fax
🤣
You just had to be a gamer during the OG 2009-2013 days for CoD, Halo and Battlefield. That was the peak for me and I was genuinely excited to play everyday. There’s no social aspect anymore. The last game I felt genuinely social on was Overwatch 1 when it first came out.
I was in elementary 😢 I vividly remember playing bo1 and bo2 tho but I was hella young
Guy said OG days during cod but left out cod 4 and WaW 🥴. And it was 2007-2012, ghost doesn’t count lol,
@@EstaDePiPi The scene was not nearly as big during CoD 4 and WaW. I didn’t make a mistake. Who are you to tell me about my own experience? Lol.
@@eligreg99 bro cod 4 won game of the year, it exploded the series, you missed two masterpieces and included ghosts 🥴
@@eligreg99 not saying anything about your experiences couldn’t care less about that, but you mentioned OG days of cod, which is why I jumped in because you left out two of the greats
Really digging these videos with a bit of editing and ole nick just chatting about the gaming scene. Please make more!
Yeah i was really invested
I've been feeling this way for a couple years now. SBMM just absolutely sucks the life out of gaming for me since I'm a decent player but only play maybe 15 hours a week or so. not being able to just hop on and casually plays just makes me want to not play at all.
That's the issue for me. I love Apex I'm a masters players but I don't want to feel like I'm playing ranked in pubs. It's boring having to sweat each game. I haven't played Apex in two months due to it.
Only 15 hours a week?? That’s a lot of hours
I felt this way for a while. I then started to venture out and play new games types / games that I normally wouldn't play. I recently started playing Grounded and have been addicted to that game. Been having so much fun with Grounded, it's a game 3-4 years ago I wouldn't have given another thought.
been playing that w my boy recently too it’s sick
That games amazing
Y’all try out “Knockout City” it’s a different genre and addicting af. Perfect balance of chillin in (street play) and heavy grind in (league play)🔥😂😂
Games in 2009 were just that. Games. Now in 2022 every game is a business! Seasons, annual updates, expansions, weekly patches!
Back in the day we payed for Halo 3 and got Halo 3! No ingame item shop, no seasons, no annual updates or expansions. If you wanted a cool looking skin for multiplayer you had to unlock it via ingame challanges. Now you just pay 10€ every 3 months for a season pass...
As a good casual gamer skill based matchmaking being amped up to what it is now has killed my experience. I enjoyed when games had a true ranked and unranked mode
Some times I wanna sweat, and some times I wanna just chill with beer and pizza. SBMM takes the option away. The only way I've found to chill is play with friends that are super casual. It helps with SBMM a little.
Thats why i switch to story games when i burn out from br’s. Its good to step away and play something more chill and then come back to it
And it's a great time for it... Horizon Forbidden West on PS5, demon's souls remake on PS5, God of War Ragnarok on ps5, I'll be ok
@@ReDD0311 bro speaking nothing but facts
Story games are the best man! Even when I'm grinding a BP game like warzone or fort, I never didn't prefer story games. Hell, I hit a point where I don't give a shit about BPs anymore.
@@CHRISCAMPO-wq8bi it happens to all of us, we get burned out
Thats why im glad i enjoy sports because when br or multiplayer gets stale i can run competitive 2k
I was a 2-3 kd player from Mw2 to black ops 2.
And the combination of terrible games (ghosts, advanced warfare etc) and sbmm pretty much since Modern Warfare 2019 has booted me off call of duty entirely
Being at a above average skill level just from years of playing makes the experience insufferable. I’m in my 30s now, I don’t need to be stressing out over video games.
Which is why I’m back to single player games, achievement hunting, getting at my backlog etc. casual gaming.
nick is one of the few players i can tell that is truly skilled and is just good with a controller. No crazy unnatural snaps and zero recoil on every gun which clearly does not exist. Keep doing your thing man. Glad to see someone make it off hard work and good personality.

Nick is such good vibes, keep it up bro 💯
The sbmm in apex is what made me quit. I hit predator and my casual matches just are insanely Hard. I couldn't play with friends, I couldn't play with my little brother, I couldn't even have fun in pubs with my girlfriend because the matches were harder than my ranked matches. And then whenever I get back on after 3 to 4 months of not playing the game expects me to still rock in those lobbies so I just get off after 2 games of being rolled
i feel you im quite new to apex and i q with my friend who played for a lil while and every pub game we play we have masters/preds in the lobbys and then comp we have low ranked players so i dont really play any more
This happens to me a lot these days. Its insane they dont have SBMM resets after like a month of not playing.
High key also because of TikTok culture and the general culture of instant gratification has shredded our brains to not enjoy things as much over time
I felt this way and I decided to play single player games co op games and switched up to fighting game gerne on the side and it spiced things up a lot. Can't rely on online to be casual anymore. I found sum games to be casual in and it's made my gaming experience a lot better than jus playing online all day and being frustrated most the time
For me online games are change, d2 need from u a lot of grinding u must play wveryday, mw2 camo and weopon unlocking is too very long time, why we dont get everything on start and play what u want? How u want? The camos chaleenges only do more campers cause they must killing with specific weapon in specific mount etc, this is horrible i see only players who do camos challenge.
@@razor15593 I do agree they making us do way to much it's overbearing picking which game to play online sometimes
that's exactly why I don't play competitive with friends. someone always gets their feelings hurt cuz we lose and then everybody becomes an expert in the game and want to explain why it's the other people's fault
I live in Tennessee and I still think fall is the best season just because in spring the humidity, pollen, flies, and bees and shit really ruin it all. Plus fall is always super nostalgic because it always reminds me of back when I played football. Great times
It’s nice here in Chattanooga!

@@P1DZz when I used to work in the kitchen during the summer it felt like I was going into hell everyday lol
@@BickelNades yeh that doesn't sound fun at all
it really is annoying having to sweat every game and what sucks more is having to really really sweat when you play with your homies who are better so their SBMM takes a hold of you by the nuts and throws you in with Optic Scump and 2012 Doug Censor Martin
They removed the social aspect and individuality with Emblems, seeing people's stats in lobby's, not having disbanding lobbies, no casual match making. No ways to have fun with strangers anymore and make new friends. Honestly you have the most fun when you're just destroying the lobby or when you and a rival are both destroying everyone and competing against each other. This creates friendships, respect and most importantly fun. With SBMM it's almost like a job. It's like playing basketball at the park vs playing basketball tryouts for college. Most people want to ball up at the park have fun and enjoy some friendly competition. They don't want to only be able to compete against others trying out for a college scholarship lol.
Great point how the intention of the gamer isn’t considered in a sbmm casual playlist. Someone wants to goof around and then all players are just measured and shuffled together off of one winning metrics. Some people don’t just want to shoot a gun casually, but so have the opportunity to play the game differently and have fun with it
I hear this all the time but honestly I love gaming as much as I always have, I only really play competitive games like cod and that if I have friends online but its still a great time every time, I also get just as excited and love a great story game, like right now I cannot wait for God of war
I understand both sides, but in the end, it should be an option you can either enable or disable in the menu options. Some days I like to go all out and other times I just wanna chill and casual game 🎮 😌
Love the editing on this
He’s right. I used to love pubstomping in pubs in MW2 and MW3 back in the day. We used to love getting moabs and grinding for camos back when people love showing off their KDs for the heck of it
Nick makes some great points🙌🏾
I miss ranked gaming in the 2000’s, climbing the ladder just felt different.
Halo 2 ranked was something else.
@@AbusedElf Halo 2 and 3 had the best ranking systems of all time. No game has ever matched its addictiveness. 1-50 or 1-symbols provided a lot of room for gradual improvement. Now if games even do have a ranked playlist there are only like 5ish tiers and you reach your limit and plateau extremely fast
I imagine they removed visible ranking systems in order to protect bad players feelings which is pretty much all modern devs care about these days.
@@JohnSmith-ti9uq so true. When ranks really meant something, if you say a high rank in halo 2 especially you knew that person was good. I remember getting to 38 in team snipers in halo 2 that was a achievement. I got to 34 in team slayer which was insane for me.
True bro, I used to love hopping into multiplayer and now it's just boring. I need that BR high being the last alive against the world.
2007-2013 where we had CoD4 - Black Ops 2, Halo 3 and Reach, Gears Trilogy, BFBC2 and BF3 those were peek for Multiplayer. 2013 though was when I went to single player games
COD BO1 - AW were the best times for cod IMO. Everyone was grinding those games and you could get on and see most of your friends from school grinding cod.
Bo hardcore mode was the most fun gaming. A big cup of coffee and insane adrenaline. Apex 3am sessions also good tho
Advanced Warfare was the first big turd in the call of duty franchise
1:49 that's not seer, that's a power ranger 😂😂
Watching Nick talking about weather had me fucking dying. “Layer up?”
skiing and ice fishing is so fun. I like both hot and cold.
First time I seen nick pop up on my feed in forever
I have a 1.3 in warzone, and I get stuck in lobbies that I have no business playing in half the time. It’s been that way for 6+ months now, and it’s all my friends want to play. I just want to play to blow off steam after work, and this COD SBMM has made it harder for me to do so
Need a ranked mode in all cods, fucking SBMM has ruined it
That’s why I could never get into warzone my games are sweaty and I play like once every few months 😂
I feel like true randomness is better and more fun for gaming than trying to understand and create a system to make it “fair” for people of any skill level. It’s funny bc everyone likes games like cod for different reasons and it actually alienates some communities by artificially trying to make it more fair/ fun for them
Fr and there is really no way to make it fair. If you get streaks you have to drop it on somebody and someone is getting shit on. Its like that with any games or any sort of competition. For someone to do well someone has to do bad. It’s whatever tho
@@Lazyfoal "For someone to do well someone has to do bad." someone tell all competitive game devs this lol
yeah man it’s called a pareto efficiency in economics i.e. its not possible to make someone better off without making someone else worse off
That’s honestly why I haven’t touched my pc in months, I can’t play casually. Every public chill game I want to play isn’t a chill game, it feels like a scrim against preds.
The greatest thing about Apex is the movement, and while controller lacks it I love those moments where you jump off a building, flick a 180 and devastate someone through a window while falling to the ground like an angel of destruction
Cod 4 - ghost was the Era of my childhood. The hype for mw3 was probably one of the best gaming moments of my life waiting to get off school all day so I can play 🤣
The crazy thing is we were all casuals at one point, we just dedicated to the grind to get better instead of complaining and giving up.
Thx😊
I cant wait for the Pro-SBMM casuals to eat their words once they get an ounce of skill. Its all fun and games for them now but once they have some skill the SBMM algo will start putting them in sweat lobbies and theyll regret sticking up for it. They will feel how exhausting it is
Gears of war + Gamebattles with the boys competing 💪🏼
Personally I felt this about a year and half ago but right now I feel like it’s getting exciting again with all the new games coming out
What games? They’re all fun for 2 games then suck
@@UpTheCatters MW2 campaign was awesome. Some people liked the first one better, but I think this story is more engaging and has better variety of mission type. And you can play them different ways too, stealth, loud, tactical, use your environment, etc. very fun imo. The MP is solid too, like a better netcode version of MW2019 with new weapons and fun sniping. Definitely fun for more than 2 games.
Also if you’re a multiplayer guy/girl, it’s worth going back to battlefield since they’ve fixed a lot of the issues with V and 2042. It’s always a good time to load up a full squad with the homies and drive around doing dumb shit.
Lots of games are still fun, you just have to go into with the mentality of playing for fun and not for performance.
@@shotgun5250 how come when someone brings up a game they mentioned cod ?? Like do people play other games then cod , I rarely here gamers talk about any other game
@@JaiRoccasGaming Call of duty is one of the worlds most popular first person shooter games. They consistently put out a new call of duty every year or two years, and they’re generally pretty good if you’re into first person shooters. It’s been around since most of us started playing shooters, and has been a household name for decades now.
Additionally, A new call of duty just released, which is driving hype for the franchise currently.
Personally, my favorite shooter game of all time is Apex Legends, a battle-royale style shooter game in the titanfall universe.
These games have hundreds of thousands of concurrent players and streamers, contributing to millions of hours of play and watch time. Everyone who games knows about call of duty and I would guess that most people who don’t game have at least heard of it. That’s why you hear about it in gaming circles, it’s a staple of shooter games.
@@shotgun5250 Honestly just because a game has a lot of people playing does not mean those are great games. I play everything , when you mentioned cod campaign I’m like there are so manny great story games that gamers miss simply because most only get play main stream games. Even that like there are a lot of games out there and this is the game I here more then anything. Don’t get my wrong I’m an og cod player been playing since world at war last cod game I actually grind was advanced warfare after that I was kinda done with cod.
I don't play with any of my friends anymore, they hardly play and when they do they log off after 30 minutes because it's just not fun for them. I definitely understand where they are coming from too!
I love the cold weather. I hate sweating when it’s hot out.
Because we all went back to work 🤣
He summed up my feelings on being hot vs cold perfectly omg.
I wish there was another Playlist option normal hard-core and casual. So you
Have the option to just play a few games if you'd like. That or have ranked play only have skill based match making. Which is the easier option tbh
Usually Fall in Michigan is cold but we've had an absolutely beautiful October/Nov this year.
Literally thought he said “you don’t have little Caesar’s in Australia” 😂😂😂
When I need a break from BR, Gears it is!!
You know what I miss? Great fps campaigns with intact plot lines and co-op. 343 destroyed the continuity of halo through the games.
No cod campaign compares to WaW and Black Ops 1/2.
It was hand crafted options for multiple approaches were given without the linear ‘on rails feeling’.
All we really have left with that much is too much imho for an fps gamer, open world like just cause or heavy stat building like fallout.
I’m looking forward to the next Halo - not Halo itself, but the next shooter to become an amazing and innovative series with choice and mystery and MOMENTS with freedom of movement.
That’s why Bungie excelled in their 3 main titles, it guided you but also gave you space to explore and options to choose from, you could assault head on, or use vehicles or pick up a sniper and go sneaky and with co-op you could have a whole fireteam coordinating your assault.
That’s what we’ve lost. Now it’s all levels and zones scaled to level, mmorpg based worlds with shitty AI and less focus on the individual feel and atmosphere of your experience.
That’s what made shooters great for me as a gamer, and it’s all but left us. I think gears of war might be one of the last titles staying true to that narrative, but even then it still misses the open and freedom of movement and epic scale of halo.
I miss games that were about the whole experience and not just a basic story and multiplayer spam.
the new mw2 i will say has been a very good time, campaign, coop, and even multiplayer has been so much fun recently
2:37 This is so true especially for apex. If you have a 1.0+ KD and average 800+ damage and 7-8 kills per game, you start to get masters and predators in your lobbies in casual and it's even worse when you three stack because the SBMM automatically ramps up your combined skill level to that of a apex predator. It's honestly just not fun, I have to sweat my ass off to win and yeah I could say "skill issue" but it's like I can't just relax and play anymore I honestly wish I was bad at the game again
Honestly you can get masters and preds in your lobby if you don’t even have a 1.0 kd and a few high kill games back to back
What I miss is the good old fashioned split screen two controllers with a friend after school
Randomness in matchmaking not only protects low bracket players, it also allows them a glimpse of very skilled players and their strategies.
I haven’t watched any of your vids but I actually really enjoyed this 😅
Loving all the new content Nick’s been giving us ! 🔥
While the initial ad is still goin… I just know your gonna be playing a game even with this title 🤣🤣
Bro a Gears of War BR would be nutty. The movement and map would need to be very fine tuned to go together, get the most out of a cover based shooter. Top that with a brutal atmosphere, that would be a crazy game for running quads
I miss LAN parties, going to a friends place, everyone carrying their huge chonky screens and crappy pc's, sitting in a room without shirts drinking soda and playing mmos together. Nowadays we all just sit at out fancy setups, talking over discord and playing new games that feel unfinished and soulless
I had burnout a year and a half ago and just stopped gaming. Then I played all of the God of War games, then got into some rpgs, got into cortnite mw2, destroy all humans, mortal kombat, I feel like games have been very good lately, but burnout can be real
Cold over hot all day! My main reasoning is if its like -5 to 25 I can put more layers on and can warm myself up...HOWEVER...if its 85-100 I can only take off so much clothing before I'm still uncomfortably hot with no way of cooling down
Nickmercs. Even if you leave gaming and do something else. I’ll always be a supporter
I love brs honestly. I don't see them going anywhere any time soon

Nick bro, games will never be done but those feelings aren’t going to show up more than a few times in our life
Absolutely! Good talk Nick!
Feels like I’m watching gasworks
It sucks that people who are tired of BR or don’t like it are just getting screwed right now. Once warezone 2 comes out the efforts being put into MW2 will plummet and it’ll get barely any support all because it’s not the flagship mode.
That blackout bo3 amazing

it would prolly never happen but it would b sick to see fps streamers play some fighting games. Its tough for most ppl to get into that genre but i feel like alot of fps players would enjoy the challenge tbh

I just played the forest for the first time and I didn’t even realize how much I would like it. I was heavily invested in fps games for 10+ years, playing a different style of game and different pace, feels so much better
You got it, a lot of these people in the comments don't even try other games but say gaming sucks.
Gaming just isn’t as fun anymore since sbmm. I mean I loved using off meta fun weird guns. But now I may be able to do it for a game or 2 before I have to choose between either getting destroyed or using a meta gun. It’s sad to think about
there's just no casual gaming in FPS games in anymore.
Didn't realize how many hours i put into mw2 back when it got released. The story was so good also
I only experiencing this when there's no new games coming out.
bro I swear I need a game for my squad to put some long but casual hours into that doesn't make me wanna pull my hair out. I love Apex, but I want something actually new
Apex is definitely suffering rn cuz there's no casual mode except for maybe ranked. They also need to reward teammates for being good team players or decision making because all the numbers you see on banners are about kills, damage or getting the season badge.
A lot of great insight
The latest game that made me feel like a kid again was elden rings, other than that were in a different era of gaming.
That's what I do in apex play pubs until they get way to sweaty then do some rank in bronze.. keeps me sane

He played professionally gears of war 3 back in the day and that’s something you had to do if you wanted to win, you couldn’t afford to waste bullets, it’s smart if you just remember to take your time and if you’re missing reset and then go back and do what you gotta do, then spray the rest of your clip hoping for the best
i think SBMM also goes off score per minute as well as it tracks your total inputs per minute or some shit like that. either way its dogshit in pubs
Remember that all Masters and Preds started at Bronze so even in Bronze you may still get slapped around 🤔
