  • We're finally done with the model!
    Although I'm extremely happy with the finished kit, there ARE some light leaks that I still have to contend with. I didn't notice them until the lights were completely off.
    Also, I need to point out that the ligh leaks you see on the bottom of the ship appeared AFTER the ship had been on the stand for a little while. The weight of the ship seemed to pry it apart just slightly. So, keep that in mind if you decide to build this kit and put some extra glue on the bottom seam, followed by some putty.
    Hopefully you all enjoyed this build (despite its flaws)... See you soon!

    A true 90'sstyle design., You can tell because it looks like several suppositories glued together. The USS Ramitupyourarse.
    Now that I'm done with my jokes, nice build, the lighting adds a lot.

    I just finished Binge watching every single video from this enterprise C series. I just picked up the model myself and I’m getting a bunch of tips and tricks from different UA-camrs. Yours is far and away the most detailed and intricate. I’m very new to modeling and lighting, so I might make mine a little bit more simple, but I’m going to push myself to see how far I can get to make it look at least half as good as yours. I’ll keep you updated with my progress.. lol

      WOW THANK YOU! That right there is the best type of compliment one can get!!! The entire point of the channel is to accelerate the hobby and get people interested. I'm thrilled! Send me some pics of your progress and I'll post them on the channel.... I've started a new feature where I showcase some viewer submissions before each video. Have fun!

    She came out great Shawn. Nice work on it and also explaining your process. Good points about not getting frustrated seeking perfection. No such thing as a perfect model. The trick is to stay with it and as you gain experience the results will continue to improve.

      @@thescifimodelguy I've combined two Perry Rhodan model kits (Revell 04851 and 04853) to build my very own space station, akin to Spacedock One, assumed scale 1:2500.
      It's still in four parts for easier painting at a later point.
      If you look up the model kits, you might understand how I came to kitbash them together, saucer at the top.

    Wow that is the first model i've seen with the light kit. That is way more impressive than I imagined Shawn! Good tip about not trying to make it perfect as well.

    The Enterprise-C doesn't have the pennants on the top of the nacelles, so you can just remove them.

    How long is the 1/1400 enterprise c and how wide is the saucer of the enterprise c?

    • @thescifimodelguy
      @thescifimodelguy  4 місяці тому +1

      She's, oh, maybe 15, 16 inches long. The saucer is probably 7 inches in diameter ... if I spread my fingers all the way it just about goes from end to end

    Pretty dumb question. First model builder here. How does the nav lights flash?

    • @thescifimodelguy
      @thescifimodelguy  11 місяців тому

      Not at all!!! The lights are controlled by a small circuit board in the saucer section ..the beginning of Chapter 5 of this series talks all about it. They're about 17 USD and not hard at all to install... good luck! Hope to see some of your work !

      Thank you for the feedback! Thankfully that effect is from the camera, I use my phone to record these. I'll be getting a proper web camera soon, which will cut down on the glare and lense-flare effect.
