Fun fact: That original Ambassador class design for the Enterprise C is now used in Star Trek Online as a variant of the Ambassador and is a tier 6 ship known as the Narendra class.
Fun fact the zumwalts was canceled because the ammunition for its main guns would’ve cost the entire navy budget to fill one ship’s magazines full of ammo

@@Erin-Thor Energy Credits... You can either trade them or use them on the Markets but what they really do is power devices such as the Replicators and Holodeck , Recreational-Teleporters , and other Essentials. Even though the units are not Exclusively powered by Energy Credits, without Energy Credits they do not function.
I think that unused Enterprise C concept looks gorgeous! Never seen it before. It looks much better than the actual model in my opinion... What a bummer that it didn't got used.
The TV 1701-C was always a cheap thrown-together model. It was a mater of time and costs. The Probert 1701-C was always a great design, more so than the 1701-D IMHO.
I've never liked the pylons and nacelles on fed ships, they look like big weak spots. I like the Defiant class and I can't help but like the Akira class.(it has 15 torpedo tubes)
Fair enough plenty of nacelles have come off in battle . But next generation was more about the golden age where there was not much war very little conflict .
I think it's more about warp field efficiency and stability. The warp coils are very complex and dense/heavy metal structures, weighing 10's of thousands of tons and needing to be aligned perfectly. They actually make up a significant portion of the ships total weight. After all, the warp field has to create a bubble around the ship, and the bubble is also generally larger than the ship, probably to combat instabilities. So making the nacelle's further apart, while seemingly less efficient, could actually be more efficient, by creating a larger warp field with less power. Otherwise the only way to extend the bubble more would be to increase the power. And obviously, the less stuff in between the coils, the more efficient the warp coils likely operate. Another factor is keeping heat generated by the warp coils away from the ship. Sure they can do it without huge distances, but it would require more engineering, shielding, etc. So while they are weakpoints, they're technically no weaker than if they were on a streamlined body, because taking a direct hit to the warp system, whether it's on a nacelle or attached to a body, would still result in the same basic effect of disabling the warp system. If your enemy is going to shoot your nacelle off, you'll be more maneuverable with it off, and then can later reattach it. Where if your enemy damages your nacelle built into the body, you'll still have that extra weight, along with potentially having your shielding from the nacelles compromised, making it impossible to go to warp anyways. When you look at ships like the defiant, technically it did have nacelles, just hidden by the overall shape of the structure. It was a fighting ship too though, so protecting the warp coils would also be worth the extra effort. When we're talking about bigger ships, it could take a lot more mass to cover up those warp coils and shield them, making them far less efficient. And as for the weight of the nacelles, I'd imagine that if you took a torpedo and it hit an attached warp coil, it could potentially cause tons of damage, because again, those warp coils are super dense and heavy metal. They're not just some casted or machined metal, they're specially made to be extremely dense, which makes them extremely heavy. Now imagine one of those blown loose and knocking around inside of your ship. The thing could tear through multiple decks. And if it's not under any gravity and just floating, even moving your ship could result in you impacting the warp coil debris inside of the section that just got torn apart. So overall, it just seems safer to have warp coils a good distance away from the main body of the ship. When it comes down to it, even ships that seem to have streamline warp coils, are really no different in principle than the federation, the difference is almost entirely aesthetics. Like again, with the defiant. It's nacelles weren't actually attached, just the armor over the nacelles made it appear that they were attached, although it did still need extra shielding and other engineering stuff to make those nacelles work with the ships design. Warp coil designs are all tailored to the specific ship they go on. You can't just interchange them. They're designed around the proper geometry needed to make the appropriate warp bubble that will encase that ship, despite interference from the design of the body. Without those complex considerations, a stable warp field would be impossible.
One of the other unused Voyager concept ships has become the Grissom class in Star Trek Online. Star Trek Online has gotten quite a few ships based on unused ship designs. Including the Aventine and Valiant. The Buran is similar to the Perseverance class.
Actually there are 3 Zumwalt class destroyers, and the hull design will probably be used in the ship that will replace the Ticonderoga class Aegis cruiser.
@Kenneth Draper Not quite. The Zumwalt is the only ship accepted and in operation. The other two are not. The second, Monsoor, is still in the process of being fitted out. The third, Lyndon Johnson, is still being built.
according to the Star Trek Destiny novels, which I've read quite a few times, Dax was not the original commander officer.....they tangled with a cube and lost their commander and XO, thus, Dax took over.
The Voyager concept is a sort of odd. The Engineering hull has elements of an upscaled runabout (top and pylons). The nacelles remind me of a cross between upside sovereign with a bit of Constitution-refit. I don't think it would have gone over as well as Sternbach thought.
I'm seeing a recurring problem where people design a starfleet ship that doesn't look like a starfleet ship and then it gets rejected. Who could have seen that coming?!
8m22s The Emmet Till - the Deflector dish is the same design used on the USS Endurance model by Bill Krause. I think this design was before the Endurance model.
The Enterprise-C-Concept looks great. And i loved the Aventine, since i saw it on one of the book covers. It blew my mind when i saw it as an eaglemoss-model, back in 2019... had to buy it in an instant.
In Star Trek Online, The Cestus Class Frigate is used as the ships the Enterprise-J carries for combat. It is quite funny that the inspiration for part of the J is now used as carrier pets in battle in game xD
I kitbashed a Starfleet ship out of a model of the Northrop B-35/B-49 flying wing using warp nacelles and bridge parts from 1/1400 scale Ambassador class (Ent-C) AMT model and a 1:144 scale B-49. Also kitbashed a ship from Revel 1/72 scale Arado 555 and 1/1000 scale Enterprise D nacelles to make a corvette sized ship in the organic styling of the Galaxy class era.
I hate to point this out but as a history buff I need to correct the fact that emmett till was specifically lynched because he supposedly whistled at a white woman, not solely because of his race.
The Altair is possibly one of the most impractically designed ships I've ever seen in the Star Trek franchise. Not only does it look like it would snap into pieces under any kind of stress, just imagine you have to travel from one section of the ship to any other section of the ship: NOTHING is close to anything else, unless it's immediately next door. It's already bad enough having to travel from the engineering section to the nacelles, could you imagine the marathon you'd have to run just to get to work every day, let alone under emergency situations when you had to get somewhere ASAP? Besides, from a tactical standpoint, there's very little protecting the inner sections of the ship from the outside, so if a section gets fragged with a hull breach, good luck trying to get past it without a space suit, whereas thicker ships would have ways to bypass it.
The variant of Voyager with sweet they should have kept that one. As for my favorite though that had to be that Avent or whatever it was that thing just spoke love me while I kick your ass. Beautiful ship design I'd love to see it on screen.

Enterprise " J' . So little is shown of her that my curiosity it peaked, Being a 60 year old "Trekkie" from the first of the first, I would like to see what they can do with her. Thank you and God Bless from Florida.
According to Doug the Enterprise J was basically a city in space. And the first time the Federation used detached nacelles. It also had a "virtual" bridge that you plug into (like the Matrix), and doesn't fly but rather jumps between locations and dimensions. (yeah: exactly like Discovery did 15 years later)
The first time I ever saw the U.S.S. Altair was in a video I saw that was about the history of the U.S.S. Enterprise and every ship that carried the name from the NX Class all the way to the Universe Class even though it wasn't mentioned by name it was just a flyby look of the ship.
That history of the Ambassador Class design fits with my feeling that the end product in some ways looks more like a futuristic throwback to the Constitution than it does a blend of Excelsior and Galaxy. I guess that is down to things like the more rounded engineering hull.
Love the vid, thanks! I always wondered why we never saw any Fighter/PT Boat class vehicles in Star Trek...? Small, fast, hard to hit torpedo boats, maybe with gatling-style phasers? Really liked the point-defense weapons in the Abramsverse, too.
The reason I think the third ship in this video was rejected is because the likeness to Sona fleet ship design and did not have a starfleet classic saucer shape at all. even the defiant has a saucer shape in it that helped it's design get excepted!
I love the Aventine. Though it had to grow on me for a bit. I had a friend that had an old Star Trek rpg and he home brewed a few rules base on conversions from sources material. My character was given command of a Vesta(USS Aventine) class ship. USS Horatio.
Love that ad for the game in the middle of the vid. Cardassian vessel goes KABOOM! Geordi says “great! We’ve scared them off!” Me, “yeah, I’m sure they were really scared as they were blowing dafuq up…”🤫😬
I would have preferred the sternbach voyager concept (the one without the fin). Saw it in the technical book before voyager was even filmed and thought it looked wonderful with the runabout design. Still do.

a ship class doesnt start with a prefix like USS. its sovereign class, galaxy class, galaxy-x etc etc no need for USS in any of these classes. the USS is part of the serialization, just like NX is part of serialization for the prototype models, the bench testers. the Prometheus class on voyager for example, was a brand new ship design it did NOT have the USS prefix, it had the registry number NX-59650 (on the outside) and NX-74913 on the inside, and comemorative plaque, because set designers and ship designers had terrible communication. the NX-A class was a refit that included the secondary hull, and was actually called the columbia class, after the second ship built in the warp 5 program. the NX refit wasnt a "class" either.
... the first one is incorrect. The Probert design you show was a proof of concept he made before TNG began production, which would later be adapted and modified to suit the wishes and needs of the production to become the Enterprise-D. They then just stuck the original design on the wall as a potential C, while never really having any plans to show it. When the time came to actually design the -C, that is when Sternbach had to merge the ideas, creating the Ambassador-class we would all become more familiar with, using elements from the original design that didn't appear on the -D
So why is that incorrect? Thats basically what we said. Probert did the original design and then when they actually came to use it in an episode they made modifications
@@GenerationFilms No, you said the Probert design came after the design of the -D, creating it by merging the B and D together. The Probert design came BEFORE designing the -D, becoming the basis they used for creating the -D in the first place. You guys got the timeline of events backwards

About your ad for "Star Trek: Starfleet Command", which you state, " is for both iOS and Android", is not, in fact for Android. When I tried to use the QR Code, my Android phone said that, "the game was not compatible with my device". So, I tried the code in the description and got the same results. Finally, I went through my phone's "Play Store", and got the same results. Possibly it works in England, buy here in the United States, it doesn't work for Android devices. When I brought up the company's site on the computer, in fact, it said that it was only good for iOS phones and iPads, and showed screenshots from both devices.
I happen to be re-watching (yes all, someone give me strength) from TCS all the way to modern I might skip the cartoon but who knows anyways what I want to learn more about the sleeper ships from the mysterious time known as the.. 1990's.

Aventine Class ftw! Awesome ship with alot of nice tech and upgrades and sweet Ezri as Captain, what would you want more? ;) got the original and the T6 Upgrade in STO (not to mention that they are awesome for the tour de galaxy mission with that 2 console drive set)^^
Seriously, even if you did nothing but play STFC, you'd still need to pay actual money to get anywhere in the game while you don't have to pay a cent to complete every STO mission.
You need to stream your Star Trek Fleet Command play sessions. I think we'd like to see if UA-camrs are really playing their sponsors games, like this and Raid Shadow Legends.
Jeannie from MxR plays actually does, or did, play raid shadow legends on twitch for quite a long time. I dont know why, its terrible; she is one of the few youtubers who actually played the games that sponsored their videos.
Love the powerful looking design, the name of the ship makes me sad considering what was done to him and how disfigured he was from being tortured to death.
I would love to see a bigger Defiant class. Not quit as big as the saucer section of a Galaxy class but close. 8 to sixteen decks and a hanger. Don't forget those holodecks😁.

Star Trek United Earth, United Federation of Planets, Federation Starfleet, Starfleet Headquarters, Federation, Starfleet Academy, Starfleet officer, MACO, Terran Empire, Imperial Starfleet, Starfleet, Federation Headquarters, Fleet, Maquis, Bajoran Militia, Section 31, Section 31 Headquarters, Red Squad, etc
Stargate Ships X-303, BC-303, BC-304, Destiny, Ancient Shuttle, Seed Ship
damm some these ships look awesome wish we could have seen them in action
wasted potential
If you get the Enterprise-J in Star Trek Online, it has Cestus frigates as hangar pets.
They all look cool
That history of the Ambassador Class design fits with my feeling that the end product in some ways looks more like a futuristic throwback to the Constitution than it does a blend of Excelsior and Galaxy. I guess that is down to things like the more rounded engineering hull.
For me: The Aventine looks amazing and modern. I love it
Those antennas were also used on the roofs of conversion vans in 80's. Such as on chevrolet G20 conversion vans
Excelsior Class Refitted! I love star trek fleet command, currently lvl 33 working my way to max that lvl for research and building upgrades!
Love the vid, thanks! I always wondered why we never saw any Fighter/PT Boat class vehicles in Star Trek...? Small, fast, hard to hit torpedo boats, maybe with gatling-style phasers? Really liked the point-defense weapons in the Abramsverse, too.
Makes me want to fire up Star Trek Online again, return to my captains chair on the USS Draconomicron
From the lesser known models, I like the USS Armitage and USS stiletto.
Loved all the ships that you showed there and I love your program here and I already play Star Trek Fleet command
I want to see a scaled up dreadnought class in the Prometheus style and capabilities. There's ways to make it more reasonable and functional for MVAM
We’ve scared them off!”
Me, “yeah, I’m sure they were really scared as they were blowing dafuq up…”🤫😬
I would have preferred the sternbach voyager concept (the one without the fin).

And Festoon isn't even a Starfleet design, as I recall?
... the first one is incorrect.
6:50 The ship serves as a test bed for Quantum Slipstream Drive in the year 2380. You know the thing that did THIS to Voyager... (CRASH)
But I guess they ironed out some of the kinks by 2380. ......
Huh?
Give the probert design some longer nacels out behind it and that would look majestic.... I want one in STO.
“…the drive that did this to Voyager.” Seamlessly cuts to Free Guy ad
One with seatbelts. A few had em, but the lack of seat belts amazed me. Lol
The Intrepid class is one my favorite .
They're all good designs.
1. Enterprise C concept
2. Aventine
3. Altair
4. Voyager concept
5. Emmet Till
I want to see the power of the Enterprise F. Final version.noone talks about it.
Play Star Trek Online in certain missions you can see the power of the F
Can you fine if there’s more sovereign class ship other then enterprise e
There's the USS Sovereign which was the prototype, but besides that and the E, I havent seen any official mentions of other ships in the class
you mean when money is no object, literally, you can build some kitted out starships?
The first concept Voyager looks like a runabout with a saucer section.
The Vesta class is my favourite trek ship of all time
About your ad for "Star Trek: Starfleet Command", which you state, " is for both iOS and Android", is not, in fact for Android.
I happen to be re-watching (yes all, someone give me strength) from TCS all the way to modern
I might skip the cartoon but who knows
anyways what I want to learn more about the sleeper ships from the mysterious time known as the.. 1990's.
I was drinking when you said "big throbbing phalic object"... I missed about 5 minutes of your video as I rushed to dry off my laptop. Thanks your big throbbing phalic object!
Aventine Class ftw!
Awesome ship with alot of nice tech and upgrades and sweet Ezri as Captain, what would you want more? ;)
got the original and the T6 Upgrade in STO
(not to mention that they are awesome for the tour de galaxy mission with that 2 console drive set)^^
I choose anything Ezri's flying
Me and Paul are going to make these real soon
Why would anyone play Star Trek fleet command when we have Star Trek online which is way better?
Seriously, even if you did nothing but play STFC, you'd still need to pay actual money to get anywhere in the game while you don't have to pay a cent to complete every STO mission.
my favourite is... Ezri Dax, ships leave me rather cold.
Unusual shape for Starfleet perhaps, but it means hope on my planet...
Apparently, in the 29th century, starships no longer need a good surface-to-volume ratio.
I love how they talk about maneuverability of a ship in a vacuum.....
Ever seen how a father and a bowling ball fall in a vacuum..??
Movability is still a thing in space you know it much smaller ship then your average so can turn around faster
I was born in 1989 and I've seen that style of limo antenna before, granted when I was young, I thought it was just decoration.
This guys head shakes more than Leno
I Play Star Trek Fleet Command, its one of the best Games i‘ve ever played, but there is still missing Star Trek Voyager 😢
Voyqger Concept Class Star ship would be cool see how she preforms in STO
The Altair looks more like an advanced experimental cardassian ship
The Emmett til looks very cool would love to see it in a video game..
That's an Akira....
@@DrewLSsix not a fan of the "catamaran" part.
The best part is that they're all canon. Oh yeah 😎.
Voyager wasn't designed for slip stream, only adapted to try it anyway. A problem they recognised in that episode.
I love them all
Go for Star Trek Bridge Commander. You will find a lot of these ships built by an awesome group of trekkies
For me the Enterprise D will always be the benchmark….
Holy Cow... The USS Aventine is gorgeous... how come it didn't make it to any show?
