    I was the biggest Cyress Hill fan. I remember Insane in the Brain being played on MTV back to back. I love everything about 1993. How Could I Just Kill A Man will always be my favorite song from them. I used to love vatos like B-Real in High School.

I also appreciate him breaking down how important and prevalent latinos have always been in hiphop, and that Black people weren't hating on anyone that was real and into the culture... Both of those points are mixed up often

      The People in the documentary were in the South Bronx when Hip Hop was being created. You being from that Gen don`t mean shit, because i know the history of Hip Hop. Kool Herc was the first hip hop DJ to put the turn tables together, the Nigga Twins was the first official DJ`s, Coke La Rock was the first official Rapper and DJ Grand Wizard was the First Hip Hop DJ to do the scratches.

      My sources is famous people who were there during the beginning of Hip Hop.Its highly debatable who was the first MC or DJ. But remember i said Official Rapper/Break dancer. Blacks in America have been rapping and Breakdancing for decades to years before HIP Hop was created. For Example; People Like Nat King Cole , Pig Meat Martin, James Brown and others have been rapping before Hip Hop and rap started. Nat King Cole has a record that goes far back as 1945 where he`s rapping. And blacks in America have been break dancing since no later then the Jazz era which is much older then Hip Hop. And In Africa for hundreds if not thousands of years before Hip Hop, African would say poetry over drum beats, and Break dancing have its Roots in Capoeira which is has its roots in Africa, African slaves later bought it to Brazil.

    There's no denying it Black's have been monumental in Hip Hop and have produced some outstanding material. However i don't think it's fair to say Black's started Hip Hop. As B real said tons of ethnicities came together to create it, it was only because Blacks began producing more that it became highlighted and is now regarded as black culture when really it should considered ghetto culture. As a non black but person of colour i definitely feel there is racism within Hip Hop and i ain't talking about saying the N word. Generally if you ain't black but youre into Hip Hop even if its in your roots you'll have to prove yourself and often you'll be negatively judged.

    That’s a blessing? To be light skin Latino wtf. I think that’s a terrible way of looking at things like this…Especially skin color. It’s a blessing to be alive and be all different colors in life. Saying this(the way he referred to it) makes it sound like being darker is not a blessing. That’s a bad way of looking at this. Just had to say that because you as a person should be looking at yourself with pride and positive thinking especially with who you are(and how you look) not negative.

      He is a light skinned black dude, with roots in Puerto Rico. The majority of Carribean Latins have some African ancestry. Sen Dog obviously has substantial African ancestry, B-Real has less, but it's still apparent, mainly in his hair. It's interesting how it shows in Latinos with African ancestry. Look at Fat Joe, light as hell, but has strong African facial features.

    • @cobra5359
      @cobra5359 6 років тому

      That's how it is. He'll get no love from real southsiders on the street for being from a black hood. He does front like an ese in his music. But like he said he ain't gangbanging he's working and just giving the public a personality that sells. My problem is don't claim a good if you left it in the past. If he was from my hood I'd tax him and jump him out if he's putting work and kicking the hood down with cash. If you doing alright and love your hood, you should pay some dues.

    americans have a weird definition of race. those who created hip hop in NYC were mostly African descents: African Americans, Afro Latinos (from PR, DR, Cuba...) and Afro-caribeans non-latinxs from Jamaica, Haiti etc.
    the very essence of Hip Hop music comes from the Black experience in the Americas. So stop the beef!
    Sen Dog is Black from Cuba, B-real is also afro-descent on his mother side.

    B real spitten real talk 💯 Markie Dee, he forgot even beastie boys. Back in style wars. Real hip hop It's always all culture, Black's just capitalized then make that shit racist AF. Like it was just them. B Real facts on origin just exposed that shit as a fucken mythology

    • @hannahcooper3535

      stfu you calling black ppl “blacks” is racist. black ppl made hip hop. the legends came before beastie boys so idk why you mentioned them. Dj Kool Herc a Jamaican black man father of hip hop. and if you wanna go deeper into the history rapping came from scatting which was first down by a black ppl. the flow and rhythm is from BLACK ppl. if god never blessed the earth with black ppl y’all would’ve never had rap and hip hop

    This is what's up, a lot of people say rap is black music, but in reality it was always multi-racial, foundationally rapping itself was based in African and Jamaican roots, but they were sampling rock records by white people, Puerto Ricans, whites, blacks all breakdancing together. B-REAL, like the name says.
