I’m not sad Bojack is ending. I’d much rather see it go out on a wave than in a gutter. I’m just hoping that Waks, Hanawalt, and rest of the Bojack team goes on to make even more incredible stories in the future.

    After seeing the second half:
You could tell they wanted a bit more time. A few things that could have been built upon a bit more (Mr. Peanutbutter's self discovery, PC's relationship with Judah, Todd's relationship with his family and his new girlfriend) but there was nothing glaringly broken about it. @@megashark3870 I agree but the creators agree too and this wasn't the ending they wanted. My guess is they had two, maybe three seasons left and that's why they needed some extra episodes this season to make up for them not getting that. My guess is two seasons, one would've been the first half, the second the other half. It's why, as much as I absolutely love this season it's the first time the show feels (only slightly) rushed. Characters need an episode each to make up for the lack of arcs over a season. It's unfortunate but the fact the show still feels so good is a testement to the shows quality.

A good example of writers failing to adapt is How I Met Your Mother. They had a set ending planned out since the beginning which was, admittedly, good on paper. But they failed to take account of one important thing: the characters had changed.

When watching this show you can feel this aswell. Like at the beginning you want ted and robin 2 be together because of hpw much he wants it but throught the build up of the reveal of the mother and how ted and Robin's relationship becomes more of a sibling kind of love than a romantic one makes you realise that they both deserve better no matter how much they want it. The ending feels like the writers destroyed all the character build up (including barney's arc) to get the ending that felt forced

@@tyrant-den884 I see what you all mean, but after many, many watchings of HIMYM, I've begun to accept the ending as it does make sense. Ted did love Robin and always would and Robin did love Ted (maybe not as much as Ted loved her). But they both wanted different things in life - Ted kids and Robin career. Independently they both got what they wanted and then why not be happy together after that you know? Doesn't mean that Ted used the Mother to have kids. Ted loved her too and she was the one (and she didn't want Ted to be alone). However, I do prefer Robin and Barney together but I also love Barney with a kid because he kind of deserved the happiness. I'm glad HIMYM ended when it did and didn't drag on any longer, but I would have loved to see BoJack last a little longer. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk

    • @Ray03595

Yeah, they need to change their algorithms and make it easier to find stuff. But also, I feel like a lot of subscribers dont like to go outside their comfort zones. Netflix constantly has big banners showing their new shows on their apps, so much of the market occurs on Netflix itself, and not other platforms. It seems like they do only save mass marketing for the big guns like Stranger Things, The Crown, House of Cards. I hate when people say there is nothing on Netflix when there is a TON of content though. Can't be afraid to dip into foreign shows, animation, docuseries, etc. When I pick a new show, it's usually done on a whim and being unafraid to try something new.

Eh, I don't think that had as big as an effect on the series getting cancelled as you may think. Check out this article below.
      www.cartoonbrew.com/artist-rights/an-inside-look-into-the-bojack-horseman-crews-struggle-to-unionize-173542.html
The animators of Bojack Horseman have been wanting to unionize since Season 1 but they've been held off from doing so by the discouragement of their employers. Things eventually added up over the years but they just boiled out with the animators deciding to finally unionize and negotiate. And the thing is that Netflix shows being union is the norm, not the exception. Upwards of 50 animated Netflix shows have been union shows. Given that Bojack Horseman is one of Netflix's most popular and successful animated series, they very well could afford unionizing the show without any problems. I don't think unionization was the issue that led to the show being cancelled but it's certainly being scapegoated as such. Anyways, check out the article that I linked above as I believe it provides a lot of important context and background information behind the situation on the whole BoJacl Horseman unionization situation.
While it's unfortunate that BoJack Horseman is going to be end, I think it may have been time. Perhaps the series Creator and writers decided that this was where they wanted to end things. And I applied them for wanting to go out on a high note rather than just artificially extend their lifespan and become bloated bland zombies of their former selves, like Family Guy and The Simpsons. Plus, Bojack Horseman is one of Netflix's longest running animated series as well.
Anyways, those are my two cents.

I was on a bad path before I saw this show and my fear of becoming like Bojack quite honestly scared me out of my depression and I will always be thankful for that. But, when the viewer had learned to become better and grown through watching Bojack, how much longer can they see him fuck up over and over and over again? I’m just glad this show got the opportunity to have an ending. Also, the writers’ main message about how “there’s no good or bad ending, just the day after” helped them a lot with problems like not being able to wrap up story arcs the way they wanted. If they got to go on for as long as they hoped for, they wouldn’t have made an ending that wrapped everything up perfectly because that would make the characters have a definitive end to their story, and they would completely be going against their own message. Having the show end where it did didn’t feel rushed IMO because the creators knew it didn’t need to. We don’t get to see or even need to see what happens with PC or Diane’s relationships, Todd and his mom’s relationship, Mr. Peanutbutter’s self journey of how he needs to work on himself rather than latch onto others, or Bojack’s time in prison because those will just lead into the next big part of their lives. They ended it off perfectly having them be in a better place in their lives, but still having lots of problems to get through, and having some sort of finality. That being the end of Bojack and Diane’s relationship and them spending one last moment together.

i wouldn’t change a single thing about season 6. it was so great and i think it was truly a masterpiece. the view from halfway down was amazing for a million different reasons. but i can’t help but wish netflix didn’t cancel it earlier than the writers would’ve liked. watching and rewatching it now i still think it’s perfect, but i can’t help but be so curious as to where else they could’ve gone with the characters, and more specifically, if they would’ve ever been able to look more into Butterscotch and his upbringing. We got to see part of why Beatrice was so cold, bitter, and heartless, not to justify her terrible actions but to provide an explanation as to why and how she could be so cruel. and i guess i just wonder if they were ever planning to do something similar with Butterscotch, or at least give a little more insight as to who he is or who he was before meeting Beatrice and having Bojack. Even if it wasn’t a deep dive into his childhood like Beatrice, but just something. I’m so curious as to if that was something they wanted to do but couldn’t bc they had to stop after season 6, or if they just never really had a desire to do that at all
