- In todays video we feature Cole and his imported JDM RHD Nissan Atlas Camper Van from Japan. This motor home is equipped with 4x4 and has extra insulation for Winter fill time living. Cole has been working remotely full time for the past two years and also enjoys snowboarding. He made some nice mods to the coach inside and out to be better prepared for the cold weather and never stop exploring. In the video you will notice this 4 season rv is also right hand drive.

I like that you always let the owner share all the details without interrupting. I have a front receiver for my bikes while I pull the airstream. Took a while to get used to not thinking I was about to run over a bicyclist 😱. Great video again, Patrick! Great build also!
Thank you very much
Glad you like it. I fell in love with the front mount after a few days :)
Lol...used to feeling like I'm not gonna run over my bikes?! They roll along with the Rv....
He has reason to be proud! I have seen one of these before and love them. He is very (very) detail oriented. Thank you for showing us this RV, Patrick
Thank you very much Rebecca

Great information! Love your honesty about setting things up, issues (both building, installing, on the road, and transitioning).
Thank you for the feedback
What a cool looking camper. Glad to see folks preserving and using these rigs from an by gone era. Great job
Glad you enjoyed it
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventuresi hope you give us a ball park what they COST???? PLEASE!!!!
@@jasonmacneil2256 i haven’t seem many but there was one listed recently all original on Facebook marketplace for $25,000
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures thanks.
Nice guy! Wishing him much success and happiness. And lots of fun with snowboarding!
Thank you Amy
Nice job on the rebuild! We LOVE these Japanese imports in our shop. We've been dying to get a Delica and make it into a micro overland camper. One of these days we'll get a round to it. Thank for sharing!
I look forward to checking that out
Thanks! Happy to answer any questions you guys may have @coleinavan
Agreed when are you going to post some videos?
@@TristenHernandez Hopefully in a couple weeks!
A delecta hangs out on 69th street in Rockaway beach NY it's a pretty cool rig
Get a sense that this young man is a straightforward, no b.s., did a great build, keeping this thing running not for the average vanlifer
He is a great dude
Much appreciated! Definitely a lot of trial and error to learn from :)
I've found my new favorite channel! This is such a cool build! Any other old Dead Heads also thinking this woulda been the perfect vehicle to follow in the 80's and 90's? Thanks for the channel and thanks for showing us around your world! so cool!
Thank you very much 🙌🏼
Hell yeah!
Great video - enjoyed this very much! Cole seems like a totally cool guy - love the mug in the cabinet LOL. Best wishes to Cole for many snowboarding journeys!!
Thanks so much!
This gentleman gave such a thorough tour and make it quite interesting! Also, the interview at the end was quite engaging.
Happier, enjoyed Cole’s tour Kimberley
Well well well.... What a fantastic van tour. One of the best ive seen. Also that van is just fabulous. Lives in it full time, has all his belongings in it, hobbies, works full time in it and yet it has such a spaciois airy feel to it. Absolutely top build. 😁👍😊
What attention to detail Cole! You've done a really good job you should be very proud. Was importing it expensive? Do the emissions meet U.S.A. requirements? Thank you Patrick for another one of your great vids.
That is so cool! Perfect for a single person.
It absolutely is
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures looks cozy inside.
This camper van is one of the most coolest and certainly most unique ones. I really hope that someday we will see more of them on the U.S, highways. I watched a Japanese You Tuber in a Hiace simple but beautiful camper van. I owned a cool Suzuki Samurai in Maui and I loved that machine and thought it was a perfect and capable 4X4 for the island. The economy of these small Japanese vehicles would be welcomed during these high price gas rip offs we are experiencing.
I believe this one is currently for sale
WOW!! Yay Nissan!! Yay Cole! Yay Dad! Yay Patrick! Marvelous tour.
Hope you enjoyed it!
very nice. It's very well designed and has a nice bathroom. It has everything a person really needs.
Thank you very much
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures you're welcome.
The DIY bed and the way you do the DIY is awesome this is why I always preach to people DIY is the key it's the way to go.. I know because I preach it everyday..
I knew you would like it
Nice that was great! I've been in touch with Cole over the past 6 months or so while I've been undertaking the same project with my Isuzu Elf camper, he is definitely down to help. I really enjoyed the in depth tour and discussion.
That's awesome!
Buddy I just bought an Elf camper here in Japan. I looked at Toyotas, Nissans etc and the Isuzu is the top of the line.
@@jimbeaver27 I'm currently looking at Isuzu Elf vs. Nissan Atlas vs. Toyota Camroad vs. Mitsubishi Canter... What sold you on the Elf over these other options? My biggest concern is motor power for dealing with inclines/altitude
@@this_one_guy mine has a 4.8 diesel goes up hills pretty good
Smart guy getting parts before he travels 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Patrick!! He looking gorgeous! 😜 x
Thank you 😊
I'm in Japan and I just bought a similar unit, an ISUZU Elf 4.8 liter diesel 4WD with dualies. I have not received it yet but it appears to be in like new condition so likely I will not have to make many changes to it. I can't wait to get it and take some trips.
Guy is living my dream I wanna travel around to snowboard
Totally agree
I enjoyed watching your beautiful truck 🛻 , God’s bless your traveling and cheers from Morocco 🇲🇦
Excellent....! That "saying goodbye" conversation, yeah, I understand that all too well - I visited friends everywhere on my last trip where they really didn't want me to leave at all, pretty crazy, and now I'm just alone in my apartment in LA :D
Glad we met up Patrick.... See you next time
That’s for checking this one out Michael. Looking forward to seeing you again this summer
You did nice work customizing it for your full time needs. It is beautiful inside. Very cozy. Thank you for sharing your home.
Thank you so much!
Hey Patrick
Enjoyed The Van Build Video
Thanks
Thank you very much Leonard
This is the best most ergonomic van built I’ve seen
Glad you found the channel
I love his camper Patrick..It feels youre inside in a cabin..
Killer look my man. Good on you.
Thank you Kim
This guy is so right when he made a point about other vandwellers and other UA-cam videos because a lot of them do exaggerate and say everything is great everything's great when it's not so I for one don't take that would like a grain of salt.. because DIY channels do get carried away and they poked a lot of crap. Which is why I questioned them.. I like question this channel sometimes..
Thank you for checking this out
Great build for a young professional...to work, play, enjoy life. Good planning...without being overdone.
Well said!
Fantastic! And great video, as always, Patrick.
Thank you very much Allie
Awesome.

Very interesting build , quite articulate with the description ; good walk thru content Patrick !
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a gem!
Thank you
This thing is freaking cool!!!! Thanks for the tour!
Glad you liked it
Love the fan that came with the van from Japan.
I absolutely love this meticulous build! Nice job on that🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼
This is cool. Haven't seen one of these before. Thanks Patrick
My first time too
Wow! Amazing interview! I think a friend of mine might want to do this, he already imported a Japanese van by getting his license. Loved the video, the follow up questions were needed:))
That would be cool!
I really like the outside looks of this RV. Just the lines of it the color the size it's just really super super nice. I think you did a great job and I think holding out for it was a super good idea. Well done all the way around. Happy travels, merry christmas, stay safe.
I totally agree!
In the uk we have lot of grey imports from Japan because they are right hand drive,a lot of small MPV normally low mileage because Japan is a small country
Love the doors with the lower windows!!
Appreciate this Japanese van tour Patrick.
Thank you very much Richard
LOVE THIS ONE
Yes 🙌🏼
Cole...amazing really!
Thank you very much Brian
lol....so dude refurbished a Japanese campervan for his snowboards. Impressive and he obviously has alot of very good and very smart group of family and friends. ;)
And lots of fun adventures
So glad to hear about that weboost - did want to make the investment without knowing for sure
Nicely done.
Great video, wasn't short that's for sure, but I did enjoyed, love the camper, good to see something different ✌️👍☮️🌲
Thank you for the support
Haha, so much to explain, we lost track of time :)
Amazing!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you 😊
Amazing 🤩
Thank you 😊
Protip: Play at 1.5 speed - this guy can talk! I appreciate the in depth tours but an hour to watch one is a little too much so playing them at a faster speed is sooooooo helpful to me at least : )
How can you possibly hear anything at 1.5?
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I've graduated to 1.75x
Lol, that’s a bold strategy. If it works it works!
1,5 best speed
Cool man 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yes, love Cole
Awesome job
Thank you very much Scott
Awesome
dude seems really nice camper ,mtb and nice fixed gear, cool style , fixed blade, snowboards in arms reach , would fit my friendgroup perfectly🤔
Right on
SMART guy!
Yes 🙌🏼
Beautiful van thankyou
Thank you very much
Great video! Its surreal, you lived my exact experience ie looking at sprinters, prices too high, imported an atlas from japan, wanted something i can work in and also converted my inside.
Love the roof basket and the fitting you did for the solar panels. Its a tough roof to fit solar to.
Where do you get parts? I need to replace my rear leaf springs and shocks.
Nice build....just get those foam tubes with the center cutout and the slit down the length of it and slide them on the rails of the bikes to protect against rock chips..
Great idea
Very impressive
The propane tanks and insulation tucked away are nice, but I would be so nervous about a rear end collision..... I don't want to be barbecued like a marshmallow!
Excellent presentation beautiful job
Thank you very much Connie
Nice build, great job just detailed and personable guy, am Also from southie! Grew up there, also nice to hear, don't think I have heard anyone from there before, definitely" full blown blue collar family" Thanks for sharing your build, be safe out there!! 😎
Thank you for the support
Very cool rig. I see he has some knauf insulation. There is a knauf plant in my hometown. 👍👍
Oh wow, really cool
We have these here. Love the videos but the way you guys pronounce things is a highlight for me. Neesarn for Nissan and Marsda for Mazda always makes us Aussies laugh. The Asian campers are popular here for their reliability. Just about every small van is a Toyota or Mitsubishi.
Wish we got more JDM here this thing is awesome
I know
Mav on UA-cam has just bought something similar. He hasn’t done anything with it yet. This is very interesting. I love the wood.
Excellent
Thank you Alan
I was amazed to hear that big ol thing runs off a turbo 4 banger , imagined my shock when I found out it was originally N/A
Turbo is a must on these
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures Can you give some info on the turbo set up? I have a mazda version of this the brawny bongo. I want to turbo it but am having a hell of a time finding any info on it
@@35jizzo44 you would heave to reach out to Cole, his contact information is in the description
Nice van good job and they’re good vans them get Erin U.K. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍👍👍
Way back I owned one of the first mini vans from Toyota an 85 that too had the midway engine, held well over 380K on it & it still sold for more then I had paid for it. Mechanics laughed at my lil 2.2ltr 4cyl engine to would & could just wasn't to peppt, but oddly enough I had alot of offers from ppl interested in buying it, the Battery was under the back seat floor board took me forever to find that lol we called it "the toaster" it was silver w limo tint, ran & drove great. I bought it in TX used & drove it to Michigan yrs later.
It looks like diesel heater tank can be used as auxiliary fuel if you were to run out of engine fuel.
Wow very cool man 👍🏼
Thanks for the visit
Very cool build!
Glad you think so!
Cool japanese camper
Very cool
Well I know you made some modifications but this camper was way ahead of its time
It really is
totally agree...
Just worried if i am out in "the boonies" thiat this wont work.
This makes me happy to read. Glad you like it!
Your very well spoken.
Thank you very much
Nice build...
Thank you very much
Great work pal. Just changed some things in my new Wildwood FXS bunk bed camper. Lowered the bottom bunk by taking out part of the storage unit, lengthened them and built them to one side for easy access. Kitchen seat now moves slightly in front of door to make a longer bed there. My favorite addition is the five big drawers I added ( under Murphy bed , kitchen seats, bunk bed, and closet). I can feel the same joy this guy feels.
Nice bro🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
sweet brah
Love it
Keep it up 🙂
Thank you 🙏🏼
it is very cute, would make a spectacular traveling art studio.
That would be cool!
Great camper, nice job
Thank you Scott

Hi Patrick, thanks again for another one of your great videosI it looked like the headlights might be blocked with the bike rack + bikes.in the front. I always look forward to your vids!
Thank you very much. Yes, they could be if not loaded correctly.
YOU CAN USE THE MOTORCYCLE COVER ,
TO SHIELD YOUR BICYCLES FROM ROAD DEBRI
He could, however it may block the lights

A whole lotta “if you will” in there
Nice 'Beast of the East' sticker, kid.
Sweet
Hey hey.. right hand drive.. I can drive this... 🥰🥰
Right hooker it is
COLE HI, MANY YEARS AGOI bought a RHD 5 SPEED MANUAL BMW, IN SCOTLAND, shipped it back, drove it for years, my biggest problem was TOLLS, I used a mop handle& put a little COOFEE BAG FILTER ON ,
Bambi basher hahahahahahaha. In Australia we call them bull bars….
for good reason.
A cassette toilet would be great
I have seen a couple of videos on K compers based on a bedford rascal (suzuki carry) ute they were done in Britain in Australia we got a lot of K cars in Australia from Daihatsu and Suzuki we got larger engines in the cars and vans
I’ll have to check them out
What of turbo kit did you used for td27 diesel ??
Should put a lift kit on it and get some ground clearance.
Now that is an idea.
The engine compartment inside the cab is not working well for me. 😶
Definitely creates a much nicer appearance though!! 👌
The van is very nice 👌 👍. Have another UA-camr @element van life who imported a Japanese van. Sounds like 👍 they are very reliable 🤔.
I will check it out
