@@kpark67 thanks for letting us know. We will report it
Is it just me or is the keyfob absolutely GIGANTIC?!!
It looks like a toy
@@bradyb9929 - What KIND of toy? = )
I thought the same! It’s huge!
I was thinking the same thing.
Not a fan of it. Would prefer a keyfob mor similar to Genesis.
This new sonata is definitely worthy of beating its competitors like the Toyota Camry and Honda accord with it’s exterior design
I prefer the look of the 2025 Camry. Interior is pretty much equal though I prefer the physical buttons of the Camry
No need to bother with a Sonata as it is being discontinued in 2025. Never buy a car that is being discontinued .. low demand and Poor resale will follow...
But…it about what’s inside, namely the engine, transmission longevity. Not a good track record for Kia and Hyundai.
Do people still buy Camrys and Accords? I haven’t seen either one of those for at least a decade.
@@charlesjackson1700 Really? Seems odd to redesign a vehicle and then just discontinue it 😉
Why does the US always get the crappy turn signals? In other markets the front turn signals are sequential and the rear turn signals are amber.
There was a time in the US, when the sound and the frequency of blinks contributed to the personality of each car. I refer to the yellow or blue plastic turn signal flasher units.
Theres laws against sequential tyrn signals (they must fully blink at least once)
We do not have a law that requires amber signals
(We can look at trucks/suvs as most manufacturers just kill the brake light for the turn signal)
@@woody7155 I thought the sequential turn signal law was a certain percentage/size of the turn signal must light/be solid immediately? The reason mustangs have sequential rear signals and the audi's have a lower static bar (Sorry for the horrible wording it's late)
First in the US to show the Hyundai Sonata 2024 retail, very impressed! Can’t wait to see the N-Line!
Thanks! We always try to be a fast as possible on new stuff!
I'm one of those people that really liked the previous front end. I picked up a 2023 SEL Plus at a FANTASTIC price back in May and have been super happy with it. Already had about 4 10 hour back and forth trips and it's a highway machine. Everyone who rides in is like "wait this is a Sonata?" It's super quite as well. I drove every other car in the glass and almost bought the Accord but just wasn't going to pay almost $7000 more and be forced into a Hybrid just to get a similar sound system while being stuck with only a sunroof vs pano. Loving my Sonata!
Me tooo😂 I picked up sonata 2023 limited in December and I love that “catfish” style because It’s something unique and ride quality is really better than in camry. And pano😍 its my biggest love. I’m sure that my next car will be also sonata or it will be something more luxurious like bmw 5 or mb e
You guys at Car Confections do a really nice job with your reviews. As I mentioned before I am definitely looking forward to your review of the 2024 Sonata N Line!
The N-Line is on my short list. Can’t wait to see the review! Others are mentioning Hertz having them available for rental. Might be a cool way for me to get an extended test drive!
I have to say, for about $1,000 more than this SEL, I’d probably take an Accord Sport, instead, or maybe I’d tack the hybrid on to this to get a performance and mileage bump.
Seen a white N-Line today. The quad outlet exhaust steals the show !
I still wish they would do a black headliner though.
My cousin has a Hyundai Sonata! (An older model) It was actually one of the most comfortable mid size sedan cars I’ve been in! The backseat actually feels comfortable! They do have the best legroom!
dang hyundai keep improving ..I own 2021 sonata limited. best mid sedan ive ever owned im at 120k miles no singles issues 24 sonata looks very good
Well done getting your hands on this one quick.
Really like the new software. Bought a 2024 palisade, hope I can at least get that new gauge cluster look
nope lol they'll prob add it to 2025 pallisade though
Can't wait for you guys review the N Line version. (Red Please) HA! Thanks for the awesome videos! 😊
Were gonna try to find one ASAP and we hope it's red too 😁
I hope these hold up as good as the Accord and Camry in the long run. My only concern is reliability and longevity for these. However, I would definitely consider one if they hold up. I do respect the fact that they offer a naturally apirated engine with an automatic transmission. Props to Hyundai for that. It seems like everyone else is going turbocharged these days and/or adding a CVT.
You guys are the best! Hated the last front-end design, so very excited for this one.
Thank you!
Great video of completely redesigned Hyundai Sonata!! Great job guys!!!
Anyone know if the hybrid will be available soon?
Looks nice for the limited number of people who will still be in the market for sedans not named accord or Camry
Can’t believe that for the 2024 Hyundai Sonata at/on the tailgate the Reverse led lights are on the rear lift gate on it and im seep surprised that Hyun did that WOW. Good job on Hyundai and their Sonata.
Good video. Will the N-line be available with options? You mentioned it having rear vents but I didn't see any on the N-line trim.
Thanks! The N-Line won't have any extra options beyond what it comes standard with.
In Australia the only version available is the N Line. But it looks very much like the Australian N Line variant also includes most (If not all) the elements of the Limited Trim.
Excellent video and happy weekend, try and stay warm!!
Thanks, you too! 🌬️
Why is that key so damn big 🥴🥴🥴
I just bought one and so far, I love it, but where’s the garage door opener?
7:39 what's the white stuff at the corner of the dash? is it a white protective plastic that hasn't yet been fully removed, or is it underneath something that's peeling?
Just a tiny piece of the plastic covering that we missed when we unwrapped it
Great review. Hoping to buy one this year. Any comments on Sonata Hybrid? Is it worth buying for the improved MPG? Is it a reliable system?
Thanks! We hope to review the Hybrid as soon as one becomes available
Yes I am very excited about the new Hyundai Sonata and I kind of want the limited now on the left you mentioned it
Wow, the new Sonata is looking good here. Much better than the Accord and the new Camry.
😂🤢🤮
I don’t like the drastic redesign on the front, I didn’t mind the catfish design before. But I get the made this closer to the Ioniq 5 and 6. That key fob is crazy huge, though! Does limited come with smart park still?
Yes
This new Hyundai Sonata is the one I buying.
🤢🤮
13:24 I looked at the N line yesterday and it did not have the air vents nor heated back seats nor the sun covers. The euro reviews that I seen had all of them
The speech pattern of inserting a superfluous "go ahead and" reminds my of the movie "The Office". In that movie, the boss has the annoying habit of inserting "go ahead and" throughout his speech. Because of that character, I never thought that this speech pattern would catch on but, here we are. Checkout @4:22, 8:04, 13:18 etc.
Was the Office a movie or TV show?
You sir have too much time on your hands 😂
Do you feel like the gear shifter is in the way of the push button start?
Dang, Hyundai! Why is the key so huge!?😭 but thanks for the vid guys.. this has helped me decide btw this and the Tucson.. gonna go with the sonata hybrid
Are you sure that the 2024 N Line has a/c vents for the rear seats?
Nice review. Thanks for reviewing without a 1-way biased hatred towards Hyundai like you see with manchilds reviewing cars
Thank you!
It's disappointing that there isn't a LIMITED AWD Gas Only or AWD with the Hybrid trim. I was really looking at this for my next car.
See you traded this Sonata for the 24 Sante Fe with DCT issue. Did you do this because the Dealer was unable to fix the DCT in the Sonata? This is quite a concern as I was considering a new Sonata N Line? I have a deposit on a 24 Sonata AWD instead but I wanted the N line extra features. What should I do? Deposit is fully transferrable & refundable so no risk but don't want a better equipped Lemon ! Maybe just keep my 30000 mile 2016 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD Sedan with 32000 miles .It's been great for 6 years but know not under warranty. Hyundai just issued a recall on my car so I have to park it outside? All these scenarios are ridiculous for Hyundai. After 12 years with Hyundai/Kia is it time for me to buy elsewhere ?
Good stuff
Is the N line trim able to had with all of the convenience features of the Limited (e.g, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, auto trunk etc…)?
No, it will come with a lower amount of equipment vs. the Limited. We are hoping to review one separately in the coming weeks
Is limited only available in hybrid?
Seriously well-equipped for the $. Looking forward to the limited trim review as well.
Amazing video guys.
Thanks so much!
Sat in the '24 Sonata N Line today. I owned a 21 but traded it for the Elantra N. I forgot how comfortable those seats are! Can't get behind that new steering wheel though. The rim was so thin... just cheapenes the whole interior. The carbon blue color was pretty cool though. It's also *insane* that they added awd, but not for the n line.
I agree on the wheel. For all the models that have an N-Line trim now, they should come up with a thicker, sporty flat bottom design to match all the other sporty elements of the vehicle. I feel like N-Lines need the Hyundai logo and the lettering / model badging blacked out, too.
@@jefflass699 totally. I'm pretty sure the Elantra N line has a very similar wheel to the Elantra N. Would prefer that in the SNL over what they gave it. It looks even worse in person somehow
Wow, I believe you guys are the first to review the new Sonata here in the States.
I used to Uber in between jobs back in 2017 and most if not all of the passengers asked me what car it was, all them were shocked how nice and comfortable the ride was and thanked it wasn't an Accord or a Camry lol
I’m looking forward to your N Line review…
I assume you have to have the keyfob with you in order to open the trunk that easily? I've been holding off on buying a '23 hybrid until this model came out. At first I thought it was really cool and liked it more than the earlier catfish design, but surely aren't in love with the appearance of the front by any means now that I've seen it more - one of the reasons I still have my '95 Riviera. I'm not liking the front of most new cars I've seen over the past 3-4 years. Except for all the new features, just not sure this car is a worthy successor to my Riviera, which truly was a luxury-class vehicle in its day. I'll have to sit in one now that they're showing up at the local dealers and then go from there. Great review though, as always.
Does it have ambient lighting?
I want to buy one, but the website still says coming soon. (Im from Seattle, WA). How did you guys get your hands on one? Called couple of dealers here, they are also clueless about the availability
They are at dealerships in Kentucky right now. This one was built in Korea. You should have them in your area any day now
Front sensors on an SEL is huge in my opinion.
On your video you mention that you are Sonata owners of a 2021 model. I wonder if you could comment on mechanical issues , if any, other issues etc . Dealership experience , maintenance wise.
We have a few long term owner update videos on the channel that you would enjoy checking out 👍
Surprised you didn't discuss the difference between the feel of the 1.6 Turbo and this non Turbo. Which one feels quicker....otherwise, great job.
I own a 2021 sonata N line with a JB4 installed mid 300s for torque and HP, and im sorry, canry and accord are no competitors for this car period. Not even close to all the tech in these cars.
Have you tested new KIA K5? That new one look very similar to this Sonata 2024. I can’t wait to see which one got more score in terms of your rules.
The new Kia K5 will be a2025 model in the United States so it's not quite available yet
My 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport is gone due to the insurance company declaring it a total loss. I’m back in the market for a new car. I’m thinking about getting a Genesis GV70 or an Audi (s)Q5, but the new Sonata is catching my eye and making me reconsider my previous options and sticking with the Sonata again.
I just got a used 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport with Tech Package with low km how was the car for you?
@masonhardesty7560 and Drew Hardesty.. Man!! You guys are dong a fantastic job. I can't believe you guys are the first In NA to have a review done on the Sonata 2024. I haven't seen anyone else have a video on the sonata 2024 US and Canada edition so far. That's extreme levels of commitment and dedication. I did see you guys update the inventory list on sound level readings on all cars. Although wish we could see a comfort level reading as well, along with the sound level and smile rating. Thank you so much for doing all this. Hope you guys hit the 1 million mark soon!!
That's very nice of you to say! Thanks so much! 😊
Bring back the coupon test
Ground clearance too low will it not touch humps?
This refresh is great, though I feel like the Sonata has been a good competitor for awhile now.
All-Wheel-Drive not being available on the N-Line is a HUGE dealbreaker for people who live in places like the north or midwest where they might still want performance in the warmer months but want the extra safety and traction that comes with AWD in the winter months.
Tires give more safety and traction. FWD with winter tires is much better in terms of braking, handling, and sometime accelerating than AWD with all seasons
I believe the Sel has 6 speakers. Great review.
wow...why elantra hybrid and sonata hybrid have different transmission?
Have you seen the N Line in person yet? I’ve seen other US Spec Vids showing non projector headlights with the N and that makes me sad. 😉
You guys are great!! PS how’s the transmission issue going with your N line?
Projectors must have,
Reflectors are on lower trims
Camry however has projectors on all trims
We looked at the one at the auto show and it did have reflector LEDs but Hyundai's latest press kit says projector style LED headlights across all trims. Considering this SEL is below the N-Line, we believe that to be true. As far as ours, it's not been doing it as often as before and we haven't done anything to it yet 😁
Thank goodness! The reflectors were NOT a good look. Now things get interesting! Thank you for responding! Keep up the great work!!!! Looking forward to your 2025 Camry (hopefully XSE) review when it comes eventually! @@CarConfections
What's up with no badge on the steering wheel?
Meh. Looks like they forgot to attach a grill to the front fascia, and the profile looks outdated and boring. I think the back end looks great though. Interior design is the generic new Hyundai look that they pulled off with the Tucson and Kona. Overall, I would opt for the refreshed KIA K5 over this for sure.
Going to test drive on Saturday, really like the interior but that key is insane lmao
How did it go?
@@rinamarie75 ended up getting the Elantra limited instead, about 3k less off sticker and much better on gas. I like it but the sonatas were very nice and great to drive
I own 21 sonata sel and i like it but like the refresh sonata even more
That key fob is HUGE compared to the previous.
I would have got a 2024 Sonata, but a sunroof is a no-no for me. So I settled for a 2023. So far so good.
I bet the new and improved 12 speaker Bose Stereo sounds amazing 👏 👌 😉
I'd be tempted to wear that key fob on a lanyard - somehow can't see putting it in pants pockets. In this day and age of super miniaturized electronic components capability, are you kidding me on the size of this fob? This could be a deal breaker.
I’m glad they changed those weird headlights 😅😅the looks so much better than last year’s model
Any idea when they are coming out?
On sale at dealerships right now 👍
Can’t believe this a 2024 Hyundai Sonata i STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT. How long did Hyundai have the Sonata?
11:00
Hey y’all I was wondering if with today's stereo test our boys were going to play “crazy” by gnarles Barkley or some other similarly-titled song quite frankly 😉
I have a 2023 Tucson Limited and really like the cabin but I think the cabin in the 2024 Sonata N Line is nicer than the cabin in the 2024 Sonata Limited…
Hi fellas, is it your standard to leave the panoramic sunroof shades open for sound meter testing on every ride? I'll have to start paying attention.
Yes, because that's where our camera is mounted and sunshades are paper-thin these days
Sonata vs Camry / accord comparison 🙏🙏
Stay tuned!
Hmm that sucks.. mpg is worst than the pre facelift... wonder why? Same engine... did it gain weight?
This is nice however they should’ve made the reverse lights led to be honest and thank god it’s not at the bottom of the bumper!
Right? Why cheap out there? These companies crack me up sometimes 😅
Those climate tactile buttons, what is Hyundai thinking. Can you touch these with thick winter gloves? I'm in Canada, trust me, I need gloves until the car warms up. South Korea doesn't have mild winter either. What is going on with decision making at Hyundai. Also, no need to hide the Start button behind the steering wheel these days, put it at better location for easy access.
That key fob looks HUGE
Own a 24 Sonata Sel basic, no leather Steering Wheel , No cargo net, groceries move around in the trumk, A couple of quirks i found is the center Cluster is hardly readable and also the area housing the AC info is too dark on sunny days. However the car Rides good nit harsh, the gearshift stalk is an aquired taste, not for everyone..While driving there is no road noise but there is Wind Noise when the Winds are High. Overall I like the Sonata, Mileage is great...
Just few years back fully loaded was under $25000
8:10 What the heck is that section to the left of the gauge cluster?? That may be a deal breaker for me if it is just wasted space. Maybe I missed your explanation. Thanks.
It’s a speaker
@@mararow1813 I don’t think so. It’s where the finger print identifier is located on the Limited model…
yeah I hate that lol but ig you can put a sticker on it or a photo or something
I keep somehow turning on the heated seats by accident. My only complaint.
why is the key fob so big?
This refresh is a huge improvement over the previous model
I liked the last one tho
Always found Hyundais to have a graceful/elegant design
Nice car, key fob looks HUGE lol
I definitely think the interior is a nice upgrade. Although I very much prefer the exterior of my '23 N-Line. It's kinda funny because I feel like a lot of non-Sonata owners like the new exterior, while Sonata owners like myself prefer the catfish. Either way, I love my Sonata. I have my car tuned and it's lots of fun while being comfortable and practical. That's why I've owned 4 Sonatas in a row lol.
So the nline didn’t get the AWD??
I have a 22 and once I blacked out the logo the grill came together nicely
The refresh is decent in a vacuum but i saw one in person and it kinda doesn't have any personality.. the previous one you knew it was a sonata. This one just looks like it could be almost any brand of car
Much more impressive than that 2025 Camry that released, which the wimpy CVT and a hybrid powertrain…this has a normal conventianal auto, and more powertrain choices. And before the folks come with the reliability stuff, the engines are port and dual injection, similar to Toyota, not the same bad engines. I enjoyed the 2024 Sonata N-Line rental that I had from Hertz. It was amazing. Lots of refinements to the dual clutch, and the power delivery seemed to be tuned much better…less wheel spin for sure. It seems that Hyundai released it early to a few fleet locations at major airports, before releasing to the public. However, proud of yall, first people in the US making a detailed review and drive.
I'll drive my Camry nonstop 10+ years with no problems while Hyundai's break down nonstop. Clear winner here.
@@rogerh2694all of my Hyundais have lasted perfectly fine…and they have made improvements to improve longevity. I haven’t seen much come in for major issues, the older ones however, I replaced quite a few engines, but these 2020+ sonatas have been doing good.
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee who are you?
That “wimpy” CVT is one of the most reliable transmissions on the market. It’s also not a CVT is an eCVT
@@bitbat9 still rather an actual transmission.
Can the mph come up on the middle gauge cluster?
Basic SEL does not show the Speedo just Digital numbers.
Nice
I like it! I’m glad it doesn’t have the CVT anymore!! It looks great
Sonata has never had cvt
Last year Sonata had an 8 speed auto
i think the K5 just became a lot more valuable... sure the tech upgrades are nice, but a Kia K5 GT line AWD with all the package add ons comes just under the price of a base Sonata. The K5 weighs less, makes more torque, has better MPGs, has H-Tex leatherette, and all the driver assist functions for just under the cost of a base Sonata.
Kias are shockingly expensive! They mark up like crazy! I would love another new Kia but they want too much (had an optima in the past and really enjoyed it for the most part). I went looking at a Kia k5 ex last year they wanted 40k h*** no that’s easily a $700 note
The front Light Bar needs a Cylon option!
anyone know when they will be released?
This is on sale at dealerships now
