I film areas like this in EVERY COUNTRY I GO TO INCLUDING PAKISTAN and Ive never had backlash from it but of course you fit me into your agenda that Im a classic westerner trying ruin Indias reputation. Im just a bloke trying to make ENTERTAINMENT. Ask yourselves why people havnt filmed the modern delhi metro or cyber city - its because filming is not allowed there. 😂 1) I go to these places because they are the best places for content, they have the most interesting and kind people who love to be on camera, often when I go to the nice areas in the city I get stopped for filming (it happened at Taj Palace, Every shopping mall and every theme park i went to) or people just camera shy and its really not engaging. I am not promoting India as a poor country at all, I'm showing interesting content that is very unique to this city, and throughout this video you may see how I positively showcase this area unlike other vloggers who say its not nice. 2) I go to these places because they are so different to everything I've ever known, I could drive 10 mins from my home in the UK and visit a boring modern shopping mall, but can I visit an area where 1 millions people live together in 2 square miles? This is so fascinating to me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. If you have any constructive criticism to say please email me at contact@harryjaggard.com and I will gladly take it on board but to just say Im promoting India as a poor country is absolutely false.

That is old Delhi. Good roadside eating places. Try and show New Delhi, the monuments, Cybercity, aero city and the world's second best Metro train system. Beats London.
Westerners have made stereotypes that india is just poor underdeveloped country that's why they always show bad side about india rather than showing developing sides of it, anyways it's useless to give views to foreign vloggers like him.
Due to the high population in a city its difficult to develop it... and there are lots of challenges to move people to different places and rebuilt these old structures of OLD DELHI....YOU SHOULD VISIT THE DELHI NRC ( NATIONAL CAPITAL REASON )

Glad you tried Samosa (it's not same everywhere though) When you entered that sweets shop I was gonna suggest milk cake and that's what he offered! The Bengali sweets are pretty darn good too, they have milk solids layer over a Rasgulla and the blend tastes so good, try that too if possible.
There's nothing wrong with Paharganj, it's proximity to New Delhi railway station has meant it was always a centre for backpackers. I first went to India, as a hippy, in 1974 and have been back countless times. The last hotel I stayed in was Hotel Relax, you passed it!
Sir with all due respect, that's the worst place in delhi to live in, it's infested with mafia , goons and scammers. It's just 200 metres from the red light area of delhi and you should never ever stay there especially with any female friend or family member.
Paharganj in Old Delhi is worst place in the country where most foreigners go when they land first in India. Paharganj is heaven for scammers and outrageously dirty, close to it there is huge red light area full of drug addicts. foreign people go there have bad experiences and then that's their impression of the country. it's a pattern that worst places in India are most visited by foreign tourists and best places are least visited by them. India's tourism ministry is not doing enough to make foreign tourists know about best places in India. by the time local Indians recommend good and beautiful places foreigners are already gone.
Thats poster India looks like, instead of asking tourist to move to better places we should be pushing the Govt to make Paharganj a better place, it should be an overall development not like certain places be like living room showcases and others worst than toilets.
these white people laugh and cringe at this to feel better about themselves and the one who goes there is considered as a brave soul in the west, these are playing with y'all for quick bucks on youtube and you guys are singing kumbaya, lmao
@@jaishreepandey1532 all foreigners visit paharganj and so did he. Making vlogs is what he does anyway. He has filmed the beautiful and modern side of India.
This is Paharganj, main bazaar, so borderline New/Old Delhi. Shahjanabad (old delhi) will have more bazaars and historic monuments and ruins are all over Delhi, on par with Cairo & Rome for historic sites & ruins. Delhi NCR is a huge area, lots of contrasts, the busy chaotic narrow lanes to the wide tree lined boulevards with mansions and everything in between, modern and old, l would say unlike Mumbai where you literally can go from slums to million dollar apartments by turning a few corners in Delhi it is very much separated, so your vast farmhouses and exclusive enclaves are far away from the average joe
As a resident of Delhi i will say that's not real delhi or even 10 percent of how delhi looks like. It just boggles my mind that of all the places in Delhi foreigners choose to stay in the worst part of delhi. That place is littered with mafias and goons every around the corner, It's just 200 metres from the red light area, One of the very big youtuber and influencer got sexually harrassed there because she thought it's a very good idea to stay in the worst place in delhi. The thing is i don't completely blame you, it's the western media which has painted this image and the foreigners on the quest of real India go to such places. It's extremely puzzling for a delhiite that why paharganj has become the backpacker area of Delhi. I have seen foreigners taking advices only from westerners and not paying heed to locals advices. They think that locals are just being nationalistic and can't handle the criticism. Do criticise about the problems of this country as much as you want but do the due diligence for yourself if not for anybody else.
you know if I go to britain and go to the worst place in say london and talk about my first impression in the 'real london', think about it how stupid that sounds

I think ‘travel’ has different meaning to different people. Some might want to explore the wilderness, some might want to indulge in the local lifestyle. I don’t think there is a point in him traveling all the way to India to see some malls. And it’s not just him. There have been many people who vlogged on similar locations, and it has only attracted more people to come in and experience it. He don’t say anything bad about the streets but rather enjoys being there. In his channel he has stayed at luxury hotels, and boasted how good it is. Not everyone wants to see tall buildings and city lights but maybe to experience life of common people in a new place. And if his videos seem like a being part of some ‘Colonial Agenda’ then I would disagree. Me being an Indian living in York, England - a place with majority of the population being British, have never experienced any sort of racial discrimination here. I studied in a class full of British students and everyone was friendly to me. They all wanted to visit India. Try the food, experience the culture and more. There are plenty of Indian restaurants here, and it’s all mostly busy there. No one tries to put India to shame. No one told me London beats Delhi. There are poorer areas in England as well and sometimes it is were you find the most friendliest people. And that is an experience some of seek. I’ve never been London but been exploring the villages of England. And that’s the kind of experience I seek. Maybe some streets look poor but can be rich with kind hearted people.
1. When the Brits arrived in India, India's contribution to world GDP was 25% +, when they left it was less than 4%. Read about the Jalianwala Bagh massacre and you won't be so proud of your country. 2. From Land Rover and Jaguar to Corus Steel to Hamley's - Indian companies are the largest employers in England today. We are slowly capturing it all back. 3. Even when they were leaving, the Brits divided my country into two - a wound that's turned into cancer today. "The sun never set on the British empire because even God couldn’t trust the Englishman in the dark" “The British conquest of India was the invasion and destruction of a high civilization by a trading company [the British East India Company] utterly without scruple or principle, careless of art and greedy of gain, over-running with fire and sword a country temporarily disordered and helpless, bribing and murdering, annexing and stealing, and beginning that career of illegal and ‘legal’ plunder which has now [1930] gone on ruthlessly for one hundred and seventy-three years.” ― Shashi Tharoor, Inglorious Empire: What the British Did to India Yes, today's Brits are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors but today's Brits must not forget that behind every well-fed Tommy there's a family that starved in India back then, and the children of their children continue to struggle to this day. Not saying any of this out of spite or ill will. We let your kind in because our own weakness, but we have learnt our lesson. Today India and England are friends, but one day we will rule England - and very differently than England ruled us. Hope this realisation keeps you humble.

We go for business, to meet and make friends for a few days before going onwards. I have been going to this area for 26 years, sure, I've seen more of India than most, and for sure I've been all over Delhi. But I will say this now, in the 'poorer people and areas' we find a great heart in the people, making them very rich indeed. In 'richer' areas and people we find the poverty of heart we see in our own countries.

India is a developing country - it has a long way to go. It is great that India has shown the world what amazing potential it has and that the GDP has gone past Britain! India has also shown the world how hardworking and adventurous they are by having a sophisticated and very successful space program! The best part to Indian culture is how the whole world is included - the culture is rich enough to be Inclusive of everyone!!
Please avoid these streets in delhi ... one can get pick pocketed and fleeced ... try Cannaught Place, Khan Market , Saket, Greater Kailash markets, Lajpat Nagar, South Ex market, etc and Cyber city, Gurgaon and other slightly better and modern markets.. Paharganj is a dirty part of the town... don't know what attracts foreigners there...
Yes Harry, New Delhi was designed by the British. Rashtrapati Bhawan (previously Viceroy's Residence) designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. Parliament House designed by Sir Herbert Baker. The architect of Connaught Place was Robert Tor Russell. My personal favorite though is the Garrison Church in Delhi Cantonment. It was designed by Arthur Shoosmith. Ironically, Shoosmith, the most talented architect in Sir Lutyens' studio never got a chance to design independently upon his return to Britain.
U should also show the modern sides of India 🇮🇳 u only goes to old places. Many parts of India is more modern then us and uk because I personally visited usa and uk also. And India is developing rapidly. Show some modern sides also to the world 🌎

India gets many tourists doing luxury travel . But it's expensive. I'm pretty sure these guys can't afford to do such type of travel regularly. But this guy is trying to show different sides of it. BUt Indian people demanding people show this or that instead should give them money if they want to see the expensive things or better , why not just show it yourself ? You go to Old Delhi which is few thousand years old and then you talk about madness. Old Delhi is older than all the cities of UK. Visit New Delhi to capture the modern India. What is the issue with showing only the old Delhi and the madness about it ? You guys only want to show the old stereotype which is pretty prevalent in the West. Europeans were loitering in loin clothes when India was churning out graduates from its universities about 2500 years back.

Harry buddy i know you're trying to do the right thing and want to experience India as a whole, but I'd suggest it's coming off wrong! You need to do a lil bit of research of where you are and where you can go! If you want to explore old Delhi, do it only for the food! that is pretty much why even Indians go to old Delhi! Besides that you mentioned about how the WEST shows India in a bad light always, being poor and underdeveloped but you may realize it or not, but you're kinda doing the same thing! Your first impressions of Delhi is literally in areas which is not even Delhi anymore! Do a bit research, Instagram has it all pretty much. 2) I go to these places because they are so different to everything I've ever known, I could drive 10 mins from my home in the UK and visit a boring modern shopping mall, but can I visit an area where 1 millions people live together in 2 square miles? Paharganj in Old Delhi is worst place in the country where most foreigners go when they land first in India. Paharganj is heaven for scammers and outrageously dirty, close to it there is huge red light area full of drug addicts. foreign people go there have bad experiences and then that's their impression of the country. it's a pattern that worst places in India are most visited by foreign tourists and best places are least visited by them. India's tourism ministry is not doing enough to make foreign tourists know about best places in India. by the time local Indians recommend good and beautiful places foreigners are already gone.
True I wonder what made him go there. Why would you visit Paharganj when even normal people dont

This is Paharganj, main bazaar, so borderline New/Old Delhi.

2. From Land Rover and Jaguar to Corus Steel to Hamley's - Indian companies are the largest employers in England today. We are slowly capturing it all back.
3. Even when they were leaving, the Brits divided my country into two - a wound that's turned into cancer today.
"The sun never set on the British empire because even God couldn’t trust the Englishman in the dark"
“The British conquest of India was the invasion and destruction of a high civilization by a trading company [the British East India Company] utterly without scruple or principle, careless of art and greedy of gain, over-running with fire and sword a country temporarily disordered and helpless, bribing and murdering, annexing and stealing, and beginning that career of illegal and ‘legal’ plunder which has now [1930] gone on ruthlessly for one hundred and seventy-three years.”
― Shashi Tharoor, Inglorious Empire: What the British Did to India
Yes, today's Brits are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors but today's Brits must not forget that behind every well-fed Tommy there's a family that starved in India back then, and the children of their children continue to struggle to this day.

I used to get lost in market that are crowded. I survived so many times, 🤣🤣 I cried everytime I get separated from my parents coz I used to run away from them for toy store. 🙃 till now I get scared to get lost in market even I'm alone 🤣🤣. ❤️ ur vid.

Aww harry, your vlogging and filming skills are becoming more and more strong day by day. Wherever you go, whatever the situation, you nicely capture the essence of that moment as it is. Your ability to experience the peace of nature as well as to endure the hustle and bustle of the busy streets have already made you a versatile UA-camr. Through thick and thin, let's gooo harry. 🎉️❤️🙏 cheers🍻

I'd suggest get in touch with one of the local food travel blogging pages on insta specially for Old Delhi places, they'd take you to the best spots and also give you the correct info. and set you up very good! Best of Luck Mate! You seem like a sincere guy. The comment section is a little negative exactly cauz of this, Hope this helps. Have fun! :)
happy Easter mate 🙈 the food looks kinda yummy but then it don't look that good hh 🤑
