Really the only problem I see with the Karthu-Al is it’s huge Cross Section, when in combat, if the Karthu-Al doesn’t use its manueuverability to its advantage, it is really easy to hit…
The Alien ships really need to be rented & flown. The sounds, the take off & landing animations, and even Quantum effects are so different than human ships. So cool!
As a note on what happened at the end; if you happen to have an accident - like you do - inside a landing zone, then you'll automatically be "rescued" after 30 seconds - emulating the emergency services showing up and grabbing you. It'll be free, all your stuff will be stored in the local inventory, and it won't count as a full death.
You should do an addition for this one, because the alien ships are very unique when it comes to different modes and their sound design in flight (especially the Khartu-Al), so you should definitely record you taking them out on a flight it will blow your mind. There are four alien races present, the Xi'an are basically more technological advanced than humanity, and they have these delicate insect looking ships like the Khartu-Al, the Banu are basically capitalistic traders and the Defender is their trade escort ship, the Tevarin have the bird like ships and were an honorable warrior race that got destroyed and swallowed by humanity and the Vanduul are basically the bad guys that everybody has beef with, their ships have this super aggressive red displays and overall looks.
I found your channel while looking for reactions to people playing SC for the first time. I'm having computer issues and cannot play SC right now. You are filling the void and allowing me to go to the expo. Thank you. Also, if you think of the Talon as a bird, touch its forehead to open it up. It is a very fun ship to fly. I highly recommend you go to a rocky planet or New Babbage with it and fly as low and fast as you can. It's a ton of fun. The 350r and M50 are also fun to fly like that.
My new 500GB Samsung gaming ssd just arrived :D moved all work files to external drive and doing full windows reset rn before installing new SSD. If everything goes well, will be flying in the verse tomorrow :D
The Banu Merchantman is probably one of the best examples of it pays to get in early. When it was first announced it was 250$. It has since gone up to 350$ as the purpose became more fleshed out, then 500$ as the scale became larger and it'll probably go up closer to 600-700 once they decide if it's going to be capital class or not. They're trying to keep it under cap but it's grown so much not sure how they're gonna accomplish that using only large components. It has no visible guns other than 2 point defense turrets and 2 remote turrets, but it does have a large man turret in the cone on the top back which will retract when in opperation and two S8 guns at the front that will deploy outwards and they've just recently announced that it will have a hanger to house a single Banu Defender though those are known to have good range so you might be able to get away with having a wing of them and have them rotate for fueling and repair. Honestly wish they had one halo normal mode and the other in combat mode.
I'm sure that CIG already has plans for something along those lines. CR doesn't like anything immersion breaking like "Rent" on a ship. That is something that they put into the game very early just to get it working.
I'm looking forward to the hover rework! Appearently that's coming soon and they seem to be pretty stoked about this iterationn. They're using words like "breakthrough" to describe it. I've been meaning to pick up a Nox, or the Origin X1, although I think the Nox is the fastest hoverbike.... lol the X1 isn't even out yet.
If you check out the Prowler again, there is a ladder up the a second floor where the cockpit is (you were in the lower co-pilot seat). The ladder is across from the side entrance door.
Goodish, the Nox and a few others of the ships on display throughout the expo will only be available for a limited time the knots is not expensive to get with real money because once it's off the expo you won't be able to buy it again till next year unless you go do the grey market and that's iffy
As for how to get into the Talon fighters, the small red buttons on the Front of the ship are the Interaction area to open the Cockpit. On older Ships, like the Blade or Glaive, you normally would open them by hovering the cursor over the area you want to interact with, while on newer ships like the Talons or all of the Crusader ships, there is usually a Button or an Interactive Panel that you click on to open them. It takes quite a bit of getting used to, to work this out as its not very intuitive or userfriendly, so its really not strange that you struggle a bit with finding the right spot on the various ships.
I am not annoyed! This was really good Goodish Gamer. I love doing the same thing so this video to me is pretty great actually! I've jumped in here to the IAE and have done the same things lol! I'm the biggest nerd ever right along with all the other biggest nerds ever. Thanks for the vid.
Goodish, the first ship, the defender, actually IS organic! The lore I'd that they essentially learned how to use biomechanics and "grow" parts of the ship. Hense why the inside looks like a ribcage and the biological details! Amazing lore behind all of Banu, probably the most interesting faction IMO
Can’t wait to see your reaction to Crusader and Origin. By the way the Talon and the Prowler are ships originally built be the Tevarin (which are a race of bird people who lost two wars to us humans, which resulted in them throwing away their own culture and were either absorbed into the newly formed UEE aka the United Empire of Earth (Formerly UPE, the United Planets of Earth) or they fled into Banu and Xi’an space. which took place around the year 2610
@Diamond swiss the Crusader video is coming out tomorrow :) At this moment I haven't seen Origin yet but am so excited to see it!!! Ooo, thanks for the lore! I love it!
I love your videos even though I'm not very fluent in English. I've been in SC for so long now and watching you discover everything makes me feel hype again like the first time. A couple of things you missed, the access to the Talon is from the front and you missed seeing the second floor of the Prowler, I won't tell how to get up there for you to discover.
Your English is great! Thank you for being here! I didn’t realize there was a second floor on the Prowler. I’ll have to check it out. I was trying to access the Talon but couldn’t get it 🤷🏻♂️ I’ll try to tour it outside of the expo.
This about shoes Star Citizen up in a bit shell, promises so much but gives you zip. What was the reward , getting rescued ? Not losing your stuff ? Showing a ship in a glass case gives you little, you /we need scale and maybe a video tour of the ship. Watched and 👍 Liked
The Xi'an ships are so unique and interesting. The Khartu-al transforms completely when you raise the landing gear, it's really fantastic. I'm looking forward to seeing it's bigger brother the San'tok-yai in the game at some point. And the Railen also has a fantastic transformation it undergoes when the gear is raised, and will have a floating lift to enter the ship. The Banu ships also have an eerie beauty to them. I am excited to see the Merchantman finally in the game as well.
I can hardly wait to see you react to the quantum travel of all the alien ships, they went over the top with them. Not to mention the jawdrop when you figure out the Talon's canopy open controls. :D
The Glaive is getting a rework to look more like the blade. The glaive is the early development aesthetic for Vanduul ships and the blade is the now look. Also, now that you've seen the alien tech look around at some human ship manufacturers and you will spot some barrowed design features. Supposedly MISC incorporates limited Banu tech into their designs and Consolidated Outlands has some Xi'an tech in its ships, most evident in the nomad.
Hey The Goodish Gamer, I must say you are my favourite SC UA-camr and the reason I started playing after 4 Years of owning the game but never playing. Should catch up in game :D
The fact they don't have to scale version of atleast the railen makes me wonder when we will be able to use it and the merchantman (i really really want a railen)
Wait until you start the Banu ship up and go into QT. The Weapons are also unique to the Banu ships. Tachyon cannons. Its very cool. The ship has very detailed surfaces on the hull. Like Art almost put on a Shiphull. But when the merchantman gets released i will have to watch a loooot of Ship tour videos ;) Cant wait for all the reactions and Details people will find. The Alien Ships are all woth a Tour. Most of them have nice surprises. And the Esperia Ships will propably get a complete redesign. The art they shoed about the new models looked much better then current models. The Merchantman is one of my most anticipatet ships. it grew lately and is now around 200x200m in size. It has many functions. maybe you want to watch the Citizen con video about the ships. Or you dont spoil yourself and wait for it ingame :).
I know there's other channels but I want to discover things for my own or details that you don't show Also you are taking your time, like I will do, it's a expo after all, is relaxing and the curiosity of the alien ships Just imagine the ultra secret military full alien tech ships not designed for humans or the ultra secret human ones not for aliens Or discovering old ships in distant bases han or alien That Wing Commander movie ship could be hidden somewhere Designed for human use = we hid the cool stuff from you, human
Man I've really been enjoying these lately, the videos have been the highlight of my day recently! I would definitely watch you binging all the commercials and other cinematic content CIG has put out over the years, as you mentioned that in the last one. There is also a small web series that ties into IAE, so I'd recommend checking that out. As for Esperia, as someone else already mentioned, they replicate iconic alien ships, just adapted for human use. Because of this, their brand isn't stylistically consistent, as you can observe when comparing, say, the Talon and the Glaive. They're ships from two very different alien cultures. The Glaive itself will get a rework, the design you see on the showroom floor is outdated. It will be more in line with the Blade once its done. CIG remade all ships of the Vanduul a while back for Squadron 42, the single-player campaign, but as the ones usable by players need to be adapted for humans, it'll probably still be a while until that becomes a priority.
6:32 Well, none actually :D The S6 Weapons currently in the game are for display purposes only (although you can buy them). There is no ship with S6 hardpoints we only have S1-5, with the Ares' now also S7 and, if you count the Idris, S10.
Also 21:50 in case you haven't recorded your video on the Talon. The entry is directly in front of the ship. There is 2 buttons there (which open a component hatch) and above those is the Inner Thought options for the cockpit. If they haven't changed it, you will have to be quite close to get it to open.
Funny that you mentioned Bill Gates price regarding Merchantman. While originally it went for sale for 250$ so not more than many way smaller ships. But, couple years ago it went up to 350$ and now it is 550$. My guess is that by time it goes live it will hit the 700$ mark... The Esperia Glaive getting a rework, but it we have to wait until S42 releases, because the want it to be a surprise. Next time when your are Streaming i can lend you my Khartu al and the Prower for you to test fly it.
Goodish, I've been enjoying your videos, & thanks for bringing back the awesome outro music. :-) I'm sure you've already got offers for this, but I've got a Banu Merchantman in my hanger, waiting for the day when it finally becomes flyable. Contact me & I'll be happy to let you tour it when that happens. 👍
I just tried all these out last night and I can conclude they are all awesome! the Khartu Al is so unique.
They are incredible aren’t they!
Imagine the Goodish's reaction when pulling the landing gear of the Karthu-Al
Right, and the first time he launches listening to it's sweet sweet engine sounds. 😆
AND the first time he goes into quantum in it!
Yeah, honestly one of my favorite aesthetically pleasing ships.
Really the only problem I see with the Karthu-Al is it’s huge Cross Section, when in combat, if the Karthu-Al doesn’t use its manueuverability to its advantage, it is really easy to hit…

Oh! Good to know, thanks!
Hell yea! Do what you love and be yourself and others will find you and enjoy it with you. Alan Watts once said something like that.
You should do an addition for this one, because the alien ships are very unique when it comes to different modes and their sound design in flight (especially the Khartu-Al), so you should definitely record you taking them out on a flight it will blow your mind.

Ahh, so essentially the Tevarin are Klingons, just with better ships, and sadly got killed off...
I found your channel while looking for reactions to people playing SC for the first time. I'm having computer issues and cannot play SC right now. You are filling the void and allowing me to go to the expo. Thank you.

I’m sorry to hear about your computer issues though.
Thanks for the tip with the Talon too 🙂
My new 500GB Samsung gaming ssd just arrived :D moved all work files to external drive and doing full windows reset rn before installing new SSD. If everything goes well, will be flying in the verse tomorrow :D
I’m literally watching your video Cause I don’t spend enough time geeking and getting excited about the expo myself

23:45 I like your idea for the rent ship button. Hope CIG picks it up.
I'm sure that CIG already has plans for something along those lines. CR doesn't like anything immersion breaking like "Rent" on a ship. That is something that they put into the game very early just to get it working.
The name for the changing "coloring" effect on the Talon Shrike is called iridescence :) Like a soap bubble or an oil slick
It Continues!
Awesome as always.
God's Grace and Peace be with you all
Thanks @chris g. And with you!

The Khartu Al is interesting when landed, but when you raise the landing gear it transforms into something completely different/better.
Also, when you're maneuvering it, it sounds like it's trying to eat you. lol

U = Turn on power when in the cockpit :D Hovertech has been in a bad state, but a physics remake for hover is coming with the next patch 3.16
Esperia is a human manufacturer which adapt and replicates alien technologies for the human market.
I can hardly wait to see you react to the quantum travel of all the alien ships, they went over the top with them. Not to mention the jawdrop when you figure out the Talon's canopy open controls. :D
The Banu in lore grow their ships thus the organic look. Make sure you take the defender into quantum for a surprise! 😉
Man, I said the same thing about the rental button on the little info stands. Makes it frustrating when you're trying to open certain ship doors.
Not a moment too soon.
The Glaive is getting a rework to look more like the blade. The glaive is the early development aesthetic for Vanduul ships and the blade is the now look.

Wow! Thank you @Admiral Rocket! I’m happy you’re here! Let’s meet up in game.
@@TheGoodishGamer for sure let's meet up. Would love to say G'day and chill.
Rent the Khartu-Al, spawn it, get in, take off (get some height), then go into 3rd person before you raise the landing gear.
2:22 Esperia definitley didnt just copy the Holden car company logo,, look it up, then flip it and call it esperia LMAO
I am the proud pilot of a BMM or will be when it’s flight ready :D
I just found your channel. I have no idea what's going on, but you have a really great UA-cam voice and personality.
Well thanks for being here @Christian 😃
I appreciate you!
That first ship you checked out, the banu ship is actually biomechanical. So it's a living ship.
Oh that’s so cool! I love how different that is!
You should do a vid on the Khartu Al, Goodish. The way the engines gyro around is pretty cool
30:39
They do, if you interact with them.
The Talon is a monster in PVE. It has two side 4 weapons and it turns on a dime. Worth a fly
Khartu-Al is the best sounding ship hands down.
GG, Talon access is at the nose. The seat literally comes out to meet you.
A bit of an annoyingly long animation but it's kind of cool.
All of the alien ships have unique VFX during quantum travel. Make sure you check that out when you tour them!
All of the Alien ships except for the Vanduul ships, which only have the usual Human QT effect
@@diamondswiss8026 Thank you, that's correct.
Literally just found you 5 minutes ago, immediately subscribed 😁
