I have some extremely crystal clear lakes around my area of SE Wisconsin I absolutely love sight fishing at inside the dark shelter, some lakes you can see 20-30ft down in winter and it’s nuts. That’s when you downsize baits, use lighter monofilament or fluorocarbon , and really use a stealthy approach! I can’t wait to get on the ice for the first time this winter! Warmer temps coming is nice! Good luck fishing ! 🎣

What an epic day ! I was wondering if you slayed them like this every time 😂 I figured they would be spooked with noise but this was eye opening I've had 3 amazing days . Striped bass , catfish and white perch. Absolute slay days . I remember wanting a break from the stripers fish after fish after fish. We could have limited out on catfish, but we stopped short of it. And the same for white perch, releasing the biggest fish while still keeping a bucket full was absolutely epic!
Great video. Don’t know if you noticed the big northern right at the 30 minute mark. He is sitting face out too right corner. Then when the guy just had to disturb your fishing you can seem he back up and disappear. Pretty darn cool. Great day man. My best day 17 walleye 23 northern 8 big largemouth and two perch around 14. Needless to say I was pretty whooped after that day.
"Luckily for them I'm not planning on keeping anything today." 2 minutes later catches a gill "I might have to keep a few today!" Lol, good for you, nothing beats a fresh fish fry!

Best day I had ice fishing was early ice 2014. Found a lake that was surveyed 6 years prior with low numbers of really big gills. Went out and it was loaded full of 10in gills. Caught my biggest to date that day, it was 11.25 inches. Funny thing is , no one fishes the lake lol.
Nice fish! Should really be letting the bigger fish go and keep more of the middle sized ones. Keeping the big fish pulls those genetics out of your lakes and big ones produce more eggs and protect the nests better than your medium sized fish. I leek to keep gills in between 7.5-9 and anything over or under goes back. Crappies for me is anything 10-12 and same deal anything else goes back.
@@ktoutdoors7484 you have the numbers right! In this lake a 13in crappie happens to be a “medium” size crappie 😂 it’s hard to explain to people how many times I’ve gone out there over the years and only caught 14in or bigger fish all day… needless to say it’s a healthy lake👊🏼🎣
