i'm 6"4 and have been studying long fist years...it's wonderful. Tho i must say personally the "Wugulun" system of movement compliments us long ppl, combining all forms i know with that system has been very fun and has taught many valuable lessons on how my body type moves. Kung Fu for life...life for learning...practice daily

You have to apply full body momentum into the punches. Twisting torso and throw fists with power. These look like baby taps or chain massage punches. This is a dance, Jet Li throws power.
You are partly correct. You are too old to become as proficient as someone that has done it their entire life, but that is the same in any sport under the sun. Become the best that YOU can be. Become the best Longfist stylist that you can be. That's like me, I've been studying Choy Li Fut Kung Fu for 5 years and I'm in my 50s. I'll never be a super duper martial artist, and I am not trying to be. Just the best mid 50s martial artist that I can possibly be.
Are you speaking from your own martial experience? I tend to think that martial artists who speak only in terms of power are ignorant to the concepts of alignment (for true power), field (mai in Japanese martial arts), and reading. Don't worry. It's the first stage for everyone. I've trained in power-based arts as well.
Nicholas Yang is a stone beast I once did forearm drills with him, he left me shaking like a leaf and at the time I was 200+ lbs!

Thank you for sharing these demonstrations with us! It is absolutely inspiring.
All the best.
Very well made. The stances are executed perfectly by Nicholas. That's are where I am lacking, I sadly need to work on them. Very inspiring indeed.
Very Inspiring and well performed. An excellent trailer to mark the final installment of YMAA's Long Fist DVD series! :)

This is real though. you watch jet li movies and you have one hell of a baby if it throws "taps" like a martial arts expert.
I feel that i am too old to do this!! ( I am 42!).
You are probably correct. It is very difficult. Kung Fu Body Conditioning is usually trained first before sequences to strengthen the joints.
You are not too old my friend. If you practice kung fu you should live to 100. Your life isn't even half over. Better get practicing!
Never to old you can do it.
If you have the opportunity just try it!
