GREAT VIDEO!!!! I needed to re-purchase two bits and a mandrel. This was the first video i found and clicked on. The thumbnail showed all the bits i currently have and use out of all the bits i own so i quickly realized your "go-to's" were exactly my "go-to's" through natural selection for practicality and ease of use. Because of your video i was able learn the name of the "safety bit" and the 'barrel bit" because of you i was able to articulate the level of coarseness i needed. I like this video because it was quick, fast and informative. I'm currently a one year beginner, self taught and love Korean/ KAWAI style nails. I was able to order the bits i needed. GREAT VIDEO!!!!
Thank you kindly for the extensive response. I love the look of a acrylic full sets, but I don't always want to be forced to get a fill every two weeks so I'm exploring other ways of achieving the look without being so dependent on someone else.
I have seen, feel like it takes the skill that I do not have. I'm just trying to find my lane doing my own nails. I was super into it during the pandemic and fell off, but I just don't like being tied to a salon every two weeks so I'm kind of back into figuring out what is best for me.
@Nicole's Beauty Scene Aw, thank you! I just did two videos on the equate e file l have from Walmart. I just need to upload them. Out of the 5 bits it came with, l think the cuticle pushed works the best. Not bad for first time use.
@Nicole's Beauty Scene I think I might as well ask. What's the difference between a safety bit and a sand band? Do they do the same thing? Do they both have unique things to watch out for?
You’re welcome!! This is my absolute favorite one that I used in the video too! It’s the Pana Coarse Safety bit in Large Barrel Silver. It’s not linking here- I’ll keep trying!
super helpful, thank you. What if you want to take off gel x? What bit would you use? and would you use a bit to take it all off, or use a drill then soak with acetone?
You’re welcome! You can use an efile and soak or just an efile. I like to cut the length off first. Then use the Pana safety coarse carbide bit to file down a good amount. You could soak off at that point or continue to efile down to your base layer of whatever thick nail gel glue you used. You’d switch to a sanding band once you’re close to your natural nails if you want to only use an efile. This is the Pana bit I mentioned here above and like to use for the majority of the bulk removal- you can’t use it on your natural nails which is why you switch to a sanding band. amzn.to/49KjFLV Here’s a video for using just an efile! Hi. I have clients whinsometimes have their nails done elsewhere. Which bit would you use for Shellac removal or gel polish with natural nail underneath? TY
Hi! I’d use one like this to remove the gel and then move to a sanding band when close to the natural nail. I would think they’d have some kind of clear gel base like builder gel or rubber base underneath so you’d file down to that. Do a fill and then redo the gel. amzn.to/3vo9EW7
So that means you’re filing the product down near the cuticle, so there aren’t any areas stuck to your skin. And having the product be flush to your nail at the back near your cuticle. This helps your product last and not lift!
A good tip for beginners is don't put to much builder gel or acrylic so close to the cuticle. Leave abt. One strain gap. With gel cam get away applying to much but any powder type ur screw. The method behind this, when u start ur application wkll be all over ghe place but when u use a metal bit to sand ? Shape and tbin it out. U can slighh blend the cuticle area more. Flat then switch to medium or light sanding and go around the outside odbgbe nail bed so nothing is sticking out or lifting and blend the cuticle area to perfection. Don't over do ghe side but if u remove tad to much around the cuticle it's okay. Juah do a good paint job
