We own a Surface604 V-Rook & a RadCity 5. Prefer the Surface604 hands down. Very similar bikes in size, shape, and features, but the components on the Surface604 are better and more replaceable & repairable across the board, they cut fewer corners. As far as this *type* of bike goes - hub motor, Class 2/3, designed to be pedaled rather than mopedded - I think Surface604 is near the top of the class, despite the price premium. If I could do it again I would just have gotten 2 Surface604s instead of the Rad; the lower maintenance would have made up the price difference before too much time.
I guess that makes sense if their prices are also some of the lowest. It has been a while since I tested their original Lectric XP. I personally prefer Rad, Surface, and Juiced for value ebikes, but haven’t tested a Juiced model for a while. Aventon also seems pretty decent :)
I think they will be offering fenders for this model in 2023 and beyond. I asked the founder of Surface 604 about them, and the rear rack, snd he said yes :)
