Remarkable performance! I've never heard a vocal version before, and here Matt sings verse and chorus in C before modulating to Eb, the usual key. Scott's tenor is eerily like a C-Melody saxophone in tone and using perfectly articulated and pitched "harmonic" notes to play above the tenor's normal high note of F. Beautiful.
Great song + Wonderful solos = Wonderful performance. Had never heard the lyrics until now. I’ve played the Bix Beiderbecke/Frankie Trumbauer version to death over the years. Can’t imagine I’m alone in my affection for this classic, of which you gents do great service.
How I love this song and your rendition. I get very emotional about music, not all music but this music. I'm not ashamed to say that I become misty eyed at each listening. Thanks for all that you guys give.
Very-very nice performance of the old-old standard, superb sax solo! It's such a rare thing to see and hear someone play such good lines and comping with a Gibson ES 150 guitar. This is the original electric guitar!
Oh how I love this quartet!! Jon-Erik Kellso is a favorite of mine,,,and hard to beat!! Matt Munisteri is another great musician, as are the other fellas, Put them all together and you have some fine music!!
I've only heard this great song sung once before. I believe it was a Bea Palmer recording. This is my all time favorite tune from that period. Thank you for posting.
Matt, consider an Eastman 810 model if you're hesitant to take out that irreplaceable Gibson L-5. wonderful playing by everyone!
Magnifique ! C'est pour ça que j'aime le jazz...
Stellar

I think BIX will be very content with this INTERPRETATION of this "SINGING THE BLUES"!
