Terrific side-by-side photography. The angle where I noticed the biggest difference in the case was when you had them next to each other in profile. It really illustrates how much bulkier the maxi-case design is over the more subtle earlier case.
fantastic video man! Great to see someone actually do, ACTUAL measurements. Really torn on this watch. I like to older reference in general across the board... even on the gold models where little has changed except for downgrades (IMO) of the dials. But the black in SS... honestly might be the best SS black daytona ever.
You have great eye for details 👍 I have been waiting for somebody who understands watch design to do detailed side by side comparison video from new Daytona. And also even though I was a bit scared of the outcome before watching this video I am glad I got one of the last of old Daytonas from my AD

Great review as always. One thing I would like to add is, to change the time clockwise on 126500 you have to turn the crown down. And to change the time clockwise on 116500 clockwise, you have to turn the crown up.
@@jtorreblno you’re incorrect. Any of the 12xxx models have to have its crown turned the opposite direction to set the time as opposed to the 11xxxx models.
Hi Hafiz. Thanks a great video, as always. You said on the stand alone review of the 126500 that the crystal is 30.3mm, but in this compar. video it it suddenly 29.70mm on the 126500. Which number is correct? And are both the 116 and 126 38.7mm in total diameter? Thanks. :-)
You always do the best comparison videos, very detailed. I do wish you had included the case size of both on your calipers, as I thought the new one is bigger than the 38 something mmls of the old one and not the same as you stated. Great vid!!
Thank you. I did cover the case/bezel size in the review of black dial Daytona I did a few weeks ago. But in hindsight, I could have included side by side in this video too. Thanks for the feedback.
Nice review, I already have the old Panda dial so I put my name down for the black dial for the new model, I think it looks better than the new panda. Can't wait for the AD call!!
Just wanted to say I actually thumbs down'ed one of your videos because, frankly, I didn't believe this footage was yours; it just looked too... good. Like stock video. Beautiful Daytona models knowing how difficult they are to get from the Rolex authorized dealers to me it’s worth to pay around twice Msrp on the pre owned market to me anyway I mean how many years of loyalty and spending history does one need to be offered one and it’s not guaranteed that one would be offered for sure and because of that uncertainty they are worth the premium one pays double Msrp and the watch is worth double Msrp if one decides to sell it in the future so in my humble opinion it’s priced correctly at fair market value. Decided to keep my 116500, the 126500 is nice but dial looks a bit empty and prefer the bezel without the metal ring
Best rolex reviews on youtube
The thickness maybe incorrect since the 126500 has a sticker on the case back. Without it it’s been measured to be 12.0mm on the Rolex forums
Which one do you prefer for a smaller wrist?
Good vid, but would have been better with the new and old in the same colour.
Nice video and interesting comparison!
I will never understand the awful aftermarket stickers though
For me the 116500LN just looks better for one significant reason: the dial. The new subdials ruin the dial feel for me becasue it looks and empty.
Exactly
It should be empty .. it’s a watch not a chronograph … this way it looks more like a normal watch without the chronograph being the main thing
