Hahaha the chef went "Oh crap it's Joel again! I will be rolling these small rolls for hours! Ok ok ... I will make him a huge roll he will never be able to finish!!"... and then looks on in disbelief while Joel finishes half of it in less than a minute and orders more! LOL
He’s what my grandma would call a “ backhanded complimenter”. ie… the rice is too big but tastes good, fish portion is mediocre but tastes good. 😂 ALWAYS a but with every compliment.

A restaurant here around me has a “Two Kings Roll” king crab and king salmon, rolled with a few things, then battered and fried, cut and topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo absolute favorite all time roll

One of my favorite rolls that my favorite place makes is a Roll that has Eel / Avocado on top & inside is Salmon / YellowTail / Avocado & Cucumber. Thing is fantastic. My Top 3 fish either as nigiri or sashimi is 1 - Salmon 2 - YellowTail / Hamachi 3 - Eel .
I like spicy salmon too, dynamite and spider. Always extra eel sauce.
I had some kimchi today I made a while back. It’s vegan (no fish sauce) I love the process of making kimchi, kraut, fermentation and picking art 🙃

That's crazy, I myself can only eat around 40 pieces at an all you can eat place, usually 4 rolls with 8 pieces and then some nigiri and I am completely full. Major props for the amount you can eat
Im a 40 piece guy myself, but I only indulge in a roll or two the rest I fill up on nigiri/sashimi. Thats where the value is.

As a kid I loved tuna and cucumber makis, now that I’m older I love sashimi with tons of ginger and a dash of sweet soy sauce and a little spicy mayo 🤤 but I still go for shrimp tempura rolls once in a while to feed my childish side.
Anyone else plan tomorrows meal around Joel’s videos.....or is it just me..........? Sushi for me tomorrow. You can’t beat a fresh Snapper!

if you are open to trying different food textures i think you should be fine. i personally think its more of a texture shock than a flavor shock, which is what most people who have never tried raw sushi anticipate.

So far my favorite place for sushi is Kiku (in Monroe Michigan) a bit pricey but delicious!

Living in Sweden and my absolute favorite restaurant is-
The sea street sushi bar in Umeå 😃 They make a roll that is named Crazy Salomon roll, by far the best roll ever!
Spicy salmon, grilled salmon, avocado, salmon roe, mayonnaise, coriander and sauce on top 👌🏼😍

They always have tons of rice and less fish when ANY sushi place does all you can eat. Even if it’s a premium Sushi restaurant.
The Chef wanted to tap you out with that DragonRoll loaded with mayo & carbs.
Did you opt for Low salt Soy sauce??

Always go for low sodium soy sauce when you can.
