I've been with Sheetz for the past 6 years now. I love the fact that they go the extra mile to make sure all of their employees are well taken care of. From the great starting pay, to frequently promoting staff, amazing health benefits, 401k, multiple bonus pays; and that's not even scratching the surface. Another aspect I love is a slogan that most customers don't know about. We call it "TCF" which stands for "Total Customer Focus". As the company takes care of the employees, the employees make sure to give just as much care of the customers.

As someone who has the sheetz app and a sheetz membership, it is 1000% worth it to get as the rewards all go towards cheaper gas while the food is better than most fast food places at an affordable price. Would like to see them expand throughout the US!

  • @coastaku1954

I'm a Canadian who loves to travel into the US for Amusement Parks and Sheetz is literally my heaven. My family literally calls it's territory "Sheetz Country" and it's used as a bargaining tool to make trips happen. The food is always so good and so cheap, their Fries are always so fresh and their hot dogs are cheap and delicious, plus since it's like every other American gas station, there are fountain drinks and snacks too! Their menu is endless and we find something new every visit, we really really hope they expand into some border states with Ontario, like NY and MI, and then expand into Canada cause I think Canadians would eat this up, since Circle K expanded into Canada recently and has started offering Food and Fountain drinks, a market only captured by 7-Eleven. Canada needs Sheetz, Canada will embrace Sheetz!

I am from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - AND I LOVE SHEETZ. When I am having a bad day at work, I daydream about a Sheetz run. There are billboards everywhere here that say "Sheetz run & done!". When Pennsylvania transitioned to electronic voting machines, I explained to nervous co-workers that voting is now just like ordering a sandwich at Sheetz. Because EVERYONE here knows how to order food at Sheetz. If they're expanding, that is awesome.

Living in Virginia, they are pretty popular here. Although liquor sales won't happen anytime soon, but they still have the Beer Cave. 2 more things I think also help them:
-Gas prices, like Wawa they tend to sell gas at a lower price than traditional gas stations. That draws in more customers who are also more likely to get food since they have a reputation for good food.
-Cleacln bathrooms, again like Wawa they try to keep the bathrooms nice. So, if you feel the need to go, you're a lot more likely to pick Sheetz over any other place because you can expect a clean bathroom.

I became a sheetz fan just last year. I was on a long distance motorcycle trip through the mid Atlantic region in late September. We had several days of crap weather, cold, rainy and wet. We stopped at a sheetz late one afternoon after riding through mud, rain and trash all day. Walking into sheetz and finding out I could order a hot meal and warm up inside was like being brought back from the dead. I'm glad they are expanding down into Ohio closer to me. I stop at Sheetz now any time I'm road tripping and have the opportunity.

Im in a weird part of PA generally referred to as North East Central Pennsylvania. Its not very far past the larger area where the Sheetz end and the Wawas begin. I grew up around them, and they actually have super good planning as to where they put them. Like I just ate there today because I had an appointment at a smaller hospital and they have one right across the street. They also have them near highways and the like, very much places where gas, food, and stop breaks are needed.
The food is decent! Most of it is nothing super amazing and some of it is kinda bad, but its usually down to how a location does things and how good the individual employees are. But the drinks are always pretty nice.
The pay is really good, they have a very high pay relative to similar positions elsewhere. Sometimes management can be kind of crap, leaving sometimes only 2 employees to run the entire store, including food and register, which even for night shift usually isn't enough.
The bathrooms are usually super clean, they often have deals going, and their rewards program is super good.
I love sheetz, i love having them around, and they've been a good thing to have around.

Originally from Altoona, PA and so I grew up with Sheetz and I can assure you that the term "sheetz run" is an actual colloquialism. You go to a late movie and you want some real snacks and to talk about it... you do a Sheetz run and then in the late 00s when you could sit down and eat it was just such a chill spot.

Sheetz is absolutely a staple for us when we go on road trips here in SWPA. The food is great, the convenience store selection is really good and often includes harder to find items that meet dietary restrictions like Dole Whip, and notably has some of the cleanest restrooms you'll find almost anywhere in the States. Definitely recommend!

Sheetz is the model of how a company should be run. Their level of respect from employees and customers is rarely matched elsewhere in any industry. The fact that it’s privately owned is why they’re successful. No dumb shareholders to report to and they can plan long-term beyond the next quarter.

Their MTO system is amazing, and I know I can go there to get good food every time. Their rewards app is great, their workers are nice, and they never disappoint. It makes my day that you're covering Sheetz. I've been a Sheetz customer for a long time. I got to see them slowly take over central PA in the 2000s and 2010s. Always liked going there. I go there at least twice a week for my gas and drinkz (It's infectious, I tell you). Them and Rutter's are big names here. Both of them have a solid hot food selection, but Sheetz is better known for it with their MTO have been out for a long time. (I had no idea it's been out since the 80s!). Royal Farms is another convenience store with food that seems to be up and coming around here. Their specialty is their fried chicken. I recommend Sheetz chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Oh, and their milkshakes. I walked an hour to and from in a blizzard just for their curly fries and milkshake.

I'm in the newly expanding area of Dayton, OH and this has me very intrigued. As a full-time DoorDasher, it's tough to eat good on the road with all the fast food joints here and I've been seeing the Sheetz stores opening but without much thought into looking, gonna have to try when I get my lunchbreak one day

Sheetz moved into my central PA town back in the mid 90s. It was nothing like any other convenience store in our area. We had a Turkey Hill for ages, but once Sheetz moved in, more people went there overall. They were a great spot for cheap pizzas back then and it helped fuel my high school's band during band camp on many occasions. They moved to the area I live in now in NEPA not long after I moved here, and have been my go-to place for gas and food.

Sheetz has a huge space in my heart, oddly, because it was an oasis for when I used to travel with my band in college. We were based in Pittsburgh, and I always loved to pull up to one when we'd got to play a show. I've noticed it expanding and came to see if you'd covered it, and lo and behold, here it is! Thanks for the coverage! It's inspiring to hear they're such a good company.

A friend of mine was a fuel delivery driver for Sheetz. They are required to keep their trucks in great clean standards at all times. You won’t see a dirty Sheetz rig on the road.
With Sheetz being 247-365 they are always open, it’s a great place for me and my automotive friends to grab some food and utilize their outside eating tables at 1am. They literally have everything on the menu. They are social media active and always a friendly place.
The company I work for currently has fleet fueling through Sheetz.
It’s a very large part to our community in Pennsylvania. We love Wawa and we love Sheetz.
Can’t beat the 2 for $1.00 hot dogz even when the price goes up around us they stay the same.
Thank you company man for doing this episode. I hope it inspires someone to travel to one of our locations to try it out!

So, I guess you meant traveling on your way to New England, while stopping in Pennsylvania. But for those hoping to see Sheetz here in New England, i know of NO place here that has Sheetz. But check out Cumby's, you will like it just as much!

I have been working at Sheetz for about 2 years and it is the best experience of my life. They pay employees 20-75k to move locations to make sure there new stores are successful. They pay high level management six figures which is achievable to every employee. I highly recommend the company and I’m guessing we will be growing very quickly. If anyone has any questions about the company, let me know.

Super exciting watch from PA :) Never realized I'd never ordered from Sheetz without a touch screen for as long as I can remember. They were also way ahead of the curve when it came to mobile ordering and rewards systems too. Where I'm from in suburban eastern PA, they're always packed and they're one of three PA chains I'll fuel from. They even knock down the price of standard fuel for holidays and even just because when prices start soaring- out of their own pockets which I think is super cool. Never knew they fought against PA liquor laws either, which are super weird. Sheetz is the best place to grab anything past 11PM here, when liquor sales are prohibited generally everywhere else. The food is up to par with competing chains and you can still get combos for suuuper cheap if you need. Sheetz>Wawa

I've lived in Pittsburgh my whole life, and Sheetz is part of the culture. There are usually multiple locations in or near every town in the area, and they're constantly building more. They have a big menu and it's easily my go-to for fast food. I'd say one of the other big reasons they're growing fast is because they're open 24/7/365, unlike a lot of other stores and restaurants. Sheetz is also renovating a lot of stores to make them more restaurant-focused with drive throughs and larger dine-in areas.

Here are some random experiences I've had with Sheetz. I spent my highschool years in PA. We got a Sheetz back in the late 90s. One thing they did to attract new customers was give away free coffee for months after they first opened. It ended up becoming a local hangout spot for teens.
Sheetz also tends to have the cheapest gas around. I've always heard rumors that "Sheetz gas is bad" but it's nonsense. It's a loss-leader for them, but it definitely gets me in for some MTO (Made-to-order). Going into Sheetz is always a feel-good feeling for me, so I'll usually get at least a bag of chips. One does not simply get gas at Sheetz.
People would always say "I'm going to shitz" making fun of the similarity to how the name sounds. They fully embraced it, I've seen billboards that say "Get yo' Sheetz" or something to that effect.
Every time I go back to PA, I make sure to make a stop and get me some MTO . They're one of my favorite spots and have been since I first visited one all those years back.
BTW, Turkey Hill is another PA gas station / dairy shop you could do a video on.

I remember when Sheetz entered my local market about 20-25 years ago. The first location I was aware of put the two gas station/convenience stores that were within a block of their location out of business within a year. Which is fair. Sheetz brought the competition and those stores simply could not compete. Sheetz are one of the few businesses to stay 24/7 since the lockdowns and, being a day sleeper, I appreciate that.

Previously worked at Sheetz as a night shift employee then a supervisor in 2020 - 2022! They just seem to hire sociable employees I’ve worked at places where everyone kinda minds their own business and goes home but Sheetz seems to hire people that like to chat and talk. I’ve heard horror stories from different stores about crappy employees, or employees who squabble, I myself was present for the firing of a few employees for work place disputes but I think all and all it’s a pretty friendly group!
