- This particular vehicle was left in France after the war by the British.
It was One of a batch bought by the Dutch Army, who fitted new engines and put the vehicles into storage.
After this time they were sold off to a dealer in Britain who then sold them on to the civilian market.
It is powered by a 28hp 6 cylinder petrol engine, Returning about 8MPG. Transmission is a 4-speed gearbox, driving through a hi-low transfer box giving 8 forward and 2 reverse gears.
My Dad learnt to drive in one of these during his national service in the early fifties !
The music completely spoiled it we couldn’t even hear the engine
Prachtig !!!!
The speedo showed a top speed of 60mph, wishful thinking. The army unit I was part of in1963 had one of these, it barely got itself up the hill from Dover, grinding along in 1st. meanwhile any of the RLs would easily pass as we we're practically stationary
Convoy speed was 28mph ,They were the backbone of British army trucks
during WW2.
We also had a large number in BAOR in the early 1950 s.
That was one awesome video thank you very very much. I am going to share this with a guys cos we're all Bedford Truck and Bus crazy
Would have been great apart from that awful music. Spoilt it.
Shame about the music
Shitty music has messed a good video
