I bought that Bob Custer bender to make j hooks. Glad to see that I can use it to adjust the dogs on my MB-550s. Good stuff, thanks for the video. God bless America and American Made.
Good info. Thanks. Just bought some 550's today. It would be awesome to see you at Decatur Illinois on Oct. 1 and 2 ITA convention. Any chance of that happening?
2bonosc I didn't take it in a bad way was just joking.if we wanted to get pin point accuracy laying it down would probably be more accurate but if it's just a little different not a big deal.also when your filming it's hard to get the picture so people can see so holding it up shows it better
Dunlap Lures oh ok I was like “ holy crap”, lol. No I got the 550’s and got two yotes and one got flipped and failed to fire. I never adjusted it so I wanted to get it right. Thanks for the helpful vid
can you do that also if there 4 coiled or will it bee too strong i will be buying more this summer and they will not be 4 coiled it looks like you don't cut extra pins off some say yes some say it don't matter let me know great video
Just order these tools last night after two new 550s not going off. Thanks for the video very helpful and straightforward 👍🏼

Not sure right now.our school is right before that and being gone for 2 weeks is rough that Time of year
I purchased that same bender and it worked great. Very informative video.
Will you be using the new Duke 650s?
I have a ton of ko extreme so I probably won't buy any duke 650s right now.
Why do u ask
Hey I done this it worked perfect how about the flat dog on the 450s
Never did those so I can't say for sure
Great info, right to the point with good info and good visual. Thanks , keep the videos coming!
That is a great bender I have use it for lots of things have to get the other tool . I think f and t.would have it
Love the 550 but hate adjusting pan tension wish they had a nut and bolt system
aaron coody there pretty easy to do with the bender
I’ve got a brand new dz going to use the bender looks pretty simple
Great video. Custer bender works good. MB is a super trap but tension a little heavy for me.
Can you bend it the opposite direction to increase tension?
Tunafish yes
Do you laminate your traps?
Ohio traper I don't but Harry the guy in video does alot of his.i am considering doing mine for next season
Is there no set screw for the dog on a MB550?
Not that I'm aware of
Where can I purchase a bender similar to that one?
Chad Brown www.fntpost.com/Products/Tools+for+Modifying+Fastening/Bob+Custer's+Trapper's+Bender
Thanks.
When that is waxed, the trip setting will be much lighter. Wax makes it much faster and easier to set off.
I dont wax my traps so it won't be a issue
Why don’t you just put the trap on a hard surface instead of your lower hand strength ? Seems there’s some give that way that can decrease accuracy.
2bonosc we were filming showing how to do it.i guess u get what u pay for
Dunlap Lures meant no offense. Just trying to learn.
