That little basket trick for pjs is a life changer! Must go buy a cute basket asap! I have a small bedroom, my side of the bed is opposite to my dresser, and I don't sleep in clothes, just being real! It would be nice if I have to get up in middle of night to just chuck on my pj dress, or in the morning so as to not disturb the sleeping husband. Much better than the floor! Thank you. 😙💕
'Don't make your bedroom a dumping ground for laundry' etc. This is very nice in theory, but the reality for a lot of people is we can't afford to have our own homes, and spaces like bedrooms have to be multi-functional. I'm 31 and have to flatshare. Homes in the UK are small - we don't often have designated rooms for laundry and cleaning products etc in houses - heck in flats we don't always get a livingroom!!. I was lucky enough in my last flat to have my own bathroom, but generally speaking for those of us in flatshares, our bedrooms are multi-purpose. They have to function as a bedroom, a living room, an office, a laundry and a storage room all in a space where you can just about squeeze in a double bed and an ikea chest of drawers. Your bedroom is beautiful (And pretty much the same size as an entire flat in London!), but it is a real 'ideal scenario'. The reality for a lot of us isn't so airy and spacious and it's about organising your space, utilising what you have and making the best of it. : ) Aesthetics are nice, but learning ways around needing 'stuff' are vital
Oh yes I hear you and I too haven't always had so much space and that's why I agree that needing less stuff is really important. And I suppose when i've lived in really small places owning less stuff has been a life saver for me. That and have some good systems in place. Thanks for sharing your thoughts :)
I'm sorry but if I had that view, I too would always open up the blinds :) but I love this, I just completed the painting and am now setting up my all white room to look as simple as possible :) (I did not know I could put plants in the bedroom so I will be trying that out) thank you for the tips.
i want to explain why i gave a thumbs down; while videography, production & aesthetic is done well, the content is lacking. there was only *2* minimal tips (give everything a home, sanctuary) and the rest were like "buy texture, candles, plants" ...not so minimal. if anything this was a "minimal style" video, not decluttering.
The heat wears me down after a while in summer, winter here is my fave. I love NZ too, such a difference to WA, so lush and green, and I think Auckland is beautiful too :) Even the weather doesn't bother me, lol.
Oh thanks so much for your suggestions. I'm currently transforming our dining room into a second lounge room so will video that process and work on some other vids that include other rooms in my house. Was there any decorating in particular you'd like to see?
I like your bedroom and would find it very restful. However, minimalism does have to be about black, white and neutrals. Some minimalists love colour and live in incredibly colourful surroundings.
Kim Villa I'm lucky cause my husband hardly buys anything. It don't be hard in yourself. It doesn't all have to happen overnight. Maybe start small and set yourself a small area of your house or a few drawers.
What if I don't like neutral colors. What if I like dark colors and like to sit In the dark. That is comfortable to me. Darkness... and less things. And ok only things that bring me joy. I like black black black and blue sometimes grey. Neutral doesn't bring me joy. I consider myself a minimalist just a darker version.
The thing is that you're saying adding, instead of the opposite. Decluttering is taking away things you do not need, therefore I think this is more of a minimalist designing tips video. Though I like your aesthetics and the video is amazing, I just feel that this is not much of a decluttering video.
This was great, been searching for "declutter a life" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Vanonnor Tenhloe Equalizer - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got cool results with it.

Yay! So glad you found it helpful :)
Finally a dark bed! I have been going crazy looking for minimalist bedroom inspirations featuring one.
I love how simple yet so incredibly useful this video is and how clean and fresh the bedroom looks while still keeping such a cozy feel ❤ i love it
Ahhh thank you :)

Leonie you have a beautiful home, having trees as the view from your windows adds to the serenity. Are you in Auckland? Looks like a rural retreat!
Thanks so much Stacey and yes I feel really lucky that we look out onto native bush. And yes we are in Auckland? Are you?
No, Perth WA, on the edge of the desert really!
Oh I love Perth. I'm originally from Sydney and have been to Perth a few times for work. I especially love that amazing climate :)

caitlyn baxter thank you 👍🏻
I take it you have other rooms or a closet, walk in wardrobe perhaps for clothes, shoes, boots, bags etc. When you live in a flat the lux
Yes i do have a walk in robe which really helps to keep my room uncluttered :)
Love your video !!!
LittleLeyWorld ahhh thank you - that makes me happy 😃
Hi? I was wondering where did you buy your vacuum from ?
Thanks I bought it a few years back from Noel Leeming I think :)

Maghouin Beg 👍🏻😘
I think lighter, (in colour and weight) will make your room feel bigger and lighter
Ive been trying to merge my way into the minimalist life and its not working!!!!!!! Im not giving up yet tho!! 💪
Kim Villa oh no what's happening? Are you finding it hard to part with your things?
The Style Insider girl its like the more stuff i get rid of. The more things my husband brings in! It never stops
Kim Villa I'm lucky cause my husband hardly buys anything. It don't be hard in yourself. It doesn't all have to happen overnight. Maybe start small and set yourself a small area of your house or a few drawers.
The Style Insider your right!! Thanks so much girl! Means alot! ❤
easy tip:instead of looking for things to get rid of, choose what you love & disgard the rest "get rid"

Sounds perfect to me :)
I would love a minimal bedroom but my husband is a hoarder!! It's a nightmare
Kavita Birrell oh gosh yeas that would be tricky 😳😩
Find out the source of his hoarding
Can't relate. 😝
Hi! Which plant is that?
Which one are you referring to please?
the one with wide plain leaves, on the floor, in a brown natural basket. :) thank you!
😉👍🏼💐

I’m going to declutter 50 things from my room today I have a lot of bs

You clearly have no idea
LoriWatt lol 😂
Why do you hate an all these minimalists. Minimalism can be different for everyone.
