- It is not everyday you are in the presence of motorcycle royalty. In this video we are not only looking at a Suzuki RG500 but the VERY FIRST Walter Wolf Edition to roll of the assembly line. Watch as I do a quick review of the bike then turn up the speakers to hear this 500cc fire to life and sing through the beautiful 4 exhaust chambers.

*I had a 1989 RG500 'C' Series Pepsi Suzuki one of the last made, and rode it hard including Track Days at Oulton, Cadwell and Mallory Park but was classed as up to 1000cc Class, managed to keep up on corners, but Honda's Blackbirds beat me on acceleration - however finished 3rd so considered a Win at Cadwell Park ! However sold it eventually as it was either going to Kill Me or get Nicked for Speeding to a Guy from Sweden at a huge Profit Today in Mint Condition [as mine was] with low Mileage worth in excess of £20k and appreciating rapidly no doubt !*
I wish they had the rubber under them that they make now. Nothing like smokin the front wheel when it comes down after a couple gears
This obsolete 80's vintage punk rode hella bikes in the 80s and I loved them all, except I just can't remember this one!

When I was 16 there was a Walter Wolf in the window of the local men’s wear shop, couldn’t get enough of checking it out. There was another in town as well. Beautiful machine to this day!
Apex in Cambridge? This bike lived in upstate NY for a Long time before it was sold at Mecum, ended up at Iconic in California and now North Bay Ontario

Not actually a homologation special. MotoGP is a prototype series, so unlike superbikes, they don't need a certain number of road versions to be built to achieve homologation. In fact this is the other way round - RG500 Gamma is based on the race bike. In other words, the race bike came first (by about 10 years). Had one, fantastic bike, so sad I sold it!

Do super bikes need to be homologated, maybe that’s what he meant, either way I’ll take it. I had the RZ version not a scratch compared with the RG, don’t get me wrong the RZ was a great bike and in Australia it won many production races against litre bikes.

Might wanna ride a 350 first. This one is a large step up from them and pretty much deadly if you don’t have experience.

When I sold mine I tried to tell the guy be very careful. Lasted two weeks. Least he didn’t die
