Why do we always got to accept people commentating that don't know anything about skating? There's hundreds of cool ex pro skaters out there. It's honestly disrespectful to skating and is giving these young kids a warped view of what skateboarding is all about.
That chick believe it or not is a professional womens skateboarder. You’d think she’d know how to name the tricks.

What makes Braden so pleasing to watch? SPEED which gives the impression of powerful and the speed translates to more tricks, and he rides the board and links tricks more. So many others do 1 trick, then walk up the next ramp, turn around and do 1 trick. Watching most of them it's like watching a best trick with a few tries in 1 go. How can you call it a "line run" if they're only doing 1 trick and not linking any?
Braden only did 8 tricks while Gustavo did 9 and 5 of those nine are way harder to do then Bradens tricks.
I agree. Stepping off of the board, should lose points for that. Reward for staying on and flowing it all together. They also need to make sure courses are set up more easily for that.
@@BcottStudios you obviously are not a street skater if that's what you feel is what defines who is a better skater. All cause you can stay on your board the whole time means nothing if all your putting down are simple tricks.

Gustavo's final run really did deserve at least a 91 or 92. And im not even a fan of his. Jhiancarlos' shouldve been high 80s.

Stoked for Nyjah! He earned it big time! But honestly thought Gustavo snatched the gold from him with that last run, but then scored 87?(!) Thats embarrassing from the judges, I know theres sponsors involved and what not but come on, do a better job hiding it, that run should earned him at least a 92.
I thought it needed to be higher. But that’s the same run he puts down every time in every contest. They want to see something new.

gustavo spent too much time on the smaller obstacles. the crowd and i were hyped to see him explode with those tech tricks, but unfortunately the judges want to gnar AND tech. i agree he was underscored and possibly beat braden's initial score, but not braden's next upgraded run.
shoulda been nyjah 95, braden 93 and gustavo 91. so i think it actually turned out okay...

Geoff Rowley was the best commentator. He explained in detail how and why tricks were difficult or not

Nyjah making history with a solid performance! But I cant stand how Gustavo Ribeiro gets judged way too low for what he put down. Same on SLS lately. His tricks are so difficult and creative yet he gets underscored every time.

These commentators are so brutal. There are articulate skateboarders out there, I''ll never understand why SLS and X-Games does such a bad job finding them. I wish there was an option to watch it with sound but no commentary.
And they show views of the commentating crew like there is anyone watching that doesn't hate their guts.

The podium was on point but Gustavo shouldve been at least second place , those that say that Gustavo does the same tricks every time have never steped foot on a skateboard and are ignorant to see that all the skaters has the same tricks in all the competitions because you cant have every trick on lock to do it in a row in a competition , skateboarding is HARD poeple !!

Jahncarlos and Gustavo were both brutally underscored. Look, I know what people are going to say about Gustavo and his predictable runs, but at the end of the day: the judges need to score a run for the tricks that are in it, NOT if they can predict it. Otherwise, you can start saying the same thing about Dawshawn's Lazerflips and Front 270 lips or Yuto's Nollie Front/Back 270 lips or Vincent's Kickflip Front Lips and Switch Back Nose Grinds or Nyjahs Switch/Nollie Heelflips. Every single big skater has their predeictable tricks that they do every contest, so if all the other skaters get judged for the tricks they do and not if you can predict that they'll do them, then he shouldn't be in the 80s while Crook Nollie Flipping out on a 10 stair hand rail mid run.
