I love these memes. They remind me that no matter how traumatic our childhoods were (believe me, I know many of us did), there are still some happy memories we can share with everyone ☺️
The purpose of the recorder was probably to torture parents, because me and the rest of my music class in Year 3 (idk what grade that is) tried to have a competition to beat the world record for longest recorder solo. My recorder mysteriously disappeared after a 3 hour solo. I never saw it again.
Apparently if you try to visualize two heart-organs squeezed together you get what we call the heartshape because one person's heart is just half of a heart-shape, so that's why this shape symbolizes love like "two hearts become one"

0:33 All you budding genealogists out there... Take note of the pointed tip umbrella. This is one of the best tools to find buried grave markers. With a 4" tip, it pokes through the soil, and when you find the gravestones, you can dig it out of the grass, leaves, and soil that has accumulated over the years. At Spring Grove Cemetery, I was able to locate 5 headstones that got buried, as well as the row marker. My twice great aunt's marker was found, and three other people searching for their family's gravestones were found as well (plus some random headstone no one was searching for, but I still unburied it).
1:23 just triggered the memory of when I got one of these and decided that such a special creature should get a special name, so I tried to name it in "my own language." I was just stringing way too many sounds together that sounded good, attaching meanings to them and hoping that it would eventually become a language, but I forgot all the words and never came up with any grammar, sooooo... Anyhow, I settled on a name that sounded fun, punchy, and vibrant! And I, as a child who only spoke English (aspirational conlangs aside) presented the name to my family, one of whom also spoke Spanish. She freaked out and made it very clear that whatever I named that lizard was something really bad in Spanish. I'm not sure what I called that lizard, but in retrospect and considering my taste in sounds at the time, I think I may have accidentally named that lizard "Son of a Promiscuous Woman" in Spanish. I sincerely hope that whoever I gave that poor lizard to gave them a much nicer name like "Mr. Cool Pants" or something.
8:05 I'd be happy to choose any of them, though since I loved bringing my dsi to lunch with me during middle school I'd say 2010's. So many good memories playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time after enjoying the lunch my mom made. 15:31 I found some superhero themed ones at the Dollar Tree and immediately bought 2 bags. Also I've never seen the bubblegum version, here it's some sort of chalk like candy.
5:29 Because of the marble powder on the gum to keep on from sticking to the paper, you and stick one of these and blow on it, and sometimes you can see a faint little puff of that marble powder, but it looks adult
3:23 when I was in first grade, there was a cart full of these things, and I was mad at someone, dunno why, but I hid behind that cart and nobody knew where I was. Class wasn’t allowed to leave till they found me. Pe teacher literally called the cops on me. Classmate ratted me out as soon as she did, cops came, talked to me, ran away from cops. Good times, good times. (That same teacher is has been my pe teacher again for the past two years and it’s kinda awkward… the same police officer was the 5th grade drug program officer and retired right after he was done with my group.) I love my younger self so much.
3:20 I did play with these, I also remember playing with a toy gun and when you pressed the trigger it would make a bang sound and it smelled like gunpowder
