- You may find this video helpful if you are thinking of getting a CCTV system.
After having some eye wateringly expensive quotes from companies to fit a CCTV system I decided to fit my own. I spent hours researching the topic and the different kinds of CCTV to choose the right system for my home. In this video I share my research and explain what system I went for and the reasoning behind it.
In the second video I show you how I installed the system myself. You can see that video by clicking this link : • How to Install a wired...
In the comments a few of you guys have asked me to provide links to the products I purchased. I have provided links below to similar products available from the company I purchased the CCTV from online. This company is Doris CCTV in London. I have no affiliations with this company but found them reasonably priced and very helpful when I called them on the telephone for advice when researching the project.

Its a nightmare trying to get the best for your requirments.. everyone syas different things.. i like how you did your own research and actually did the job yourself.. good effort.. The only thing i would suggest in the future is to change your cables out... If possible i know its a pain but you will benefit from it... Run new Cat 6 cable... and use Video Baluns at each end.. Basicaly no signal loss and future proof... If you ever go for a NVR rather than a DVR ithe cables are already in place.. I have found over a few years the normal BNC style cables cause video loss or image jumps.... since moving to Cat6 its made a great improvmement .... also they can be run upto 100 meters.. .. Cheers
Nice video! Very useful! Thank you!!
Thanks for the video! I have a small business and have been looking at some unnecessarily large packs. I didn't realise you could mix and match cameras with dvrs (I'm a complete novice!), so you'll be saving me a small fortune to be able to customise the pack.
I'll be going with a similar setup, and I'll let you know how I get on in the future!
Keep up the good work! And thanks again for the info👍
thanks are your camera still working fine?
Hi have you got sound on your CCTV?
Have you got a link to that map?
In the same position as you, got some mad quote's for fitting. So I'm going to have a go at installing a system myself. I may well go for a similar system to you. Where did you get your set up from (if you don't mind me asking)
Hello, I purchased the system from www.doriscctv.co.uk
Hello, could you provide links to each of the items you purchased in this video in your description please. I am interested in buying the same set as yourself. Thanks.
Hello, I have put links to similar products in the comments now, they aren't the same items
Rip off English prices, where I live 4 cam system fitted setup by a CCTV engineer with sensor alerts would be £800.00
