+Alex Lichty I agree, there are many among the mormons who do not follow their own faith and their own teachings. however the first principle they teach to children is "Be like Jesus". YES a lot of Adults forget that in the process of growing up. I am not sure where you got your information, but the fact that so many try so hard to discredit the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, implies that perhaps they have more truth then those people want to have known.
+Alex Lichty Yes I may be a Mormon, I am PROUD of my faith, but I am a true Christian. I try to live as he did, serving others, spreading joy and hope. I am a mere mortal, I fail and I stumble, but he lifts me up and sets me back on my feet and tells me to keep trying. Joseph Smith was a mortal man, he like other prophets before him (can I mention two, Jonah and Moses) had flaws. He did not have any plans for what you claim happened at first, if he had them later only God knows, me I refuse to let such trivialities shake my focus, which is on Christ and living my life the best I can.
We are here to make choices, and we all have to answer for the choices we make. You will have to face the eternal consequences for your words here. As will I, therefore I refuse to spread hate and venom. May your heart be softened to the truth, and may you realize that while there are Mormons that are Hypocrites and truly have forgotten the way, most of us prefer to live quietly and live good lives knowing we are flawed and only trying to be better.
Please do not spread hate and lies, while you may see them to be truth, I promise they are not. I stand by what I said before, the way many attack my faith and church implies that there is truth there that those who attack it do not want the world to know. I speak less as a Mormon, and more as a PSYCHOLOGIST when I say that.

Also it is a good idea for all of us to heed the words of Acts 17:11 and the deeds of the Berean Christians, "They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth."
I've been in many Christian churches and heard preaching that didn't meet this test. When someone challenges you on LDS doctrine, search the Scriptures with them to see who is teaching the truth.

Do I detect a key change at 1:53 ? I guess this enables Kyle to take the high notes up an octave in the last few verses. Sing it Kyle! Sends shivers up my spine when listening with high quality headphones because most soloists tackling this hymn take the easy way out and drop the high notes an octave.

I'm usually not a fan of any deviation from the traditional melodies, but this is a great rendition of the song! Your visuals are very moving, too. Telling a story through expression and song alone was a great choice and you executed it to perfection! Very well done.

There are all kinds of people in the Church- good and bad, and all make mistakes (only the savior was perfect), but the Church itself exists to invite people of all faiths to follow the example of the Savior: to learn of him, to follow him, to try to be more like him in how we act, and how we treat each other. Best wishes.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I believe you have been misguided regarding the church. Which is surprising to me if you are a Catholic, I must admit. I have a number of good friends who are Catholic, and I haven't ever noticed ill will towards the LDS Church from Catholicism, The LDS Church and the Catholic church often collaborate in service work in fact. At any rate, I do wish you the best.
I've been involved in Mormon/Catholic collaborations. I can't speak to your personal experiences - I know not all members follow the church's fundamental principles (true of any organization). But the Mormon church and the Catholic church frequently collaborate on projects - no competition. One of the earliest examples I remember was decades ago - the LDS church raised funds for the Ethiopian drought. after considering options for distribution, they contacted the catholic church and passed the funds to them, as they already had the best infrastructure in place to most efficiently and effectively distribute the funds. I am actually from Idaho - Born in Montana, living in Logan. But I've spent time in a number of other places as well (Florida, UK, Belgium...). So My experience with Mormon and Catholic relations is not Exclusively (or even primarily) Utahn. Beyond that, you are saying rather mean and spiteful things and I suspect you aren't interested in facts, so I am wasting my time. Sorry you feel that way.

Really struck me tonight as I watched this. Have had lambing as part of my vet studies, and seeing the straw they lied in indeed made my eyes well up. I can almost ‘smell’ it; I myself wouldn’t have lied in it to rest during the night shifts. Yet through such love, such humility, Christ left the glory of heaven to be birthed in such a place, picturing even from the very beginning to be the Lamb of God (John 1:29)! Pondering on that really hit me hard.
