      I love how our of all the products out there you chose to use natural things from the earth and made sure to mention that it’s equally important as to what we put into our body and getting good nutrition plays a major role in your skin care ….…in so many ways I have found you to be one of the smartest people I know and with out a doubt the most well rounded and balanced person ever …I have so much respect for the quality that you put in to being the person that you are…Holly your videos are always a 10 out of 10 but more importantly Holly you are a 10 out of 10

      I adore skincare; it's like a soothing ritual for me. Yet, the Instagram scroll can lead to impulse purchases, leaving me with a surplus of products I hardly use. Your advice on simplicity really resonates with me.
      I noticed when I was eating lots of vitamin C rich fruits my face was glowing like literally glowing
      Regarding the face mask you mentioned, do you use it daily or stick to weekly application?
      Also I’d suggest adding gram flour to the face mask (if it’s available there) works wonders!!

    My Mum only ever used soap and water on her face and remained young looking. I'm not as basic as that as I do use facial wipes then day cream or night cream moisturiser, but that's it. I very rarely wear make up and am pleased to say have many disbelieving my age 😊

      I love that! It really is the irony how that can be the case!😄 Most of these anti aging products and 12 step skin routines can cause more harm than good in the long run I think! Of course good genetics play a part too!☺️ Thanks for watching!🫶

    Hi Holly. Thank you so much for another great video. It is great to be part of this community. Our skin routine is very simple. It's been like this for a few years now since we had some skin problems due to products we didn't know were not benefitial for our skin. Since then, our morning skincare routine consists of 50+ suncream (all over the year, including winter) and moisturiser at night. We love quinoa salad, versatile and healthy😊Looking forward to your next video🌟

    Great video Holly :-) you look very beautiful with and without makeup, and your skin looks very healthy, so clearly you are doing something right. In my own experience simply eating healthy and regular exercise ultimately leads to great skin. Plenty of vegetables, fruits, that sort of thing, especially tomatoes I think are great for skin.. and lots of water, too. I used to drink a lot of white tea when I learned it was one of the most healthiest teas in the world too.. it did wonders for my skin and health in general. I used to get told all the time that I look much younger than I am. I also think things like prolonged stress, anger, resentment, bitterness can lead to prematurely aging. Whereas things like kindness and goodness, as well as rest.. seems to lead to a more youthful look :-)

      Thank you Stephen!🥹🫶 Really appreciate your kind words☺️ I totally agree it’s all encompassing, lifestyle, skincare and also a positive mentality to know skin will always have good and bad days and that’s perfectly normal!🙂 Beauty on the inside will always show on the outside and it’s funny because I think our skin picks up on things like stress, negativity, pessimism too and reflects that. Even more of a reason to relax, do your best and keep optimistic!😄 Thank you for sharing this! Wishing you the best✨

      @lagomholly All good beautiful Holly :-) you're absolutely right, what's on the inside really does show up on the outside. I've seen the immensely healthy things you cook, and your body must love you for it.. so much nourishment! That combined with those healthy runs/walks outside you do. I've been getting back into weights and walks outside again, as well as healthy eating. It ties in with my dream because I need more energy to pursue my dream. So you actually helped me to get back into health and fitness again too! You're right it's so healthy to do our best, stay optimistic, and relax. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me Holly, wishing you the best too :-)

    I use coconut oil warmed in my hands, massaged into my face and then cleansed off with a flannel wrung out with warm water. It removes mascara too! I finish by splashing my face with cold water and patting dry with a towel. I don’t need moisturiser either as my skin feels really soft afterwards. I love the simplicity of this 😊

    What a great video and thank you for sharing the quinoa recipe - I’m going to try it! I love watching skincare routines as someone who has oily, acne prone skin. I live in a very hot, humid climate that my skin hates!

    Feel like this is such an important topic which you addressed so wisely and authentically! I’ve had such troubles with my skin with acne and dermatillomania, and was on accutane for ~14 months! Since then my skin has improved so much and I’ve learned a lot, mainly, as you said, that less is more! Or for me simplicity is more, so I try to pick things that are gentle and have short ingredients list (so as to have less chance of irritation) and change only one thing at a time if I change anything. I also treat my skin with kindness, not scrubbing away at it. I’ve learned to not just do what others do (for example everyone says to tone but I have had nothing but trouble with them so I just don’t bother!) and I have been using Korean skincare which has been helping too. I am curious as you linked Cetraben as your moisturiser, do you put it on your face? I’d be worried it would clog my pores but would be intrigued to try it as I’ve used it on my body and it’s worked well in the past! Will also try your face mask recipe, love a good homemade face mask (powdered oats, honey and milk also works so well) although I think I once used pure turmeric years ago and my face was…quite orange needless to say 🤣Thanks for sharing Holly 💕

    • @lagomholly
      @lagomholly  4 місяці тому +1

      So glad you enjoyed this! I totally agree with everything you've said. More products or messing with my skin has historically always made it worse off! Just letting it be and looking after ourselves from the inside out is what I've found to be the best "skincare" 😊 I do use Cetraben as I have really dry skin on my face so need a heavy moisturiser, but it's not suitable for everyone particularly if you have oily or combination skin! Again I think skincare is so subjective and that's why its important to establish what works for you! ☺ I'm glad to hear your skin is getting better and you've found something that's working for you! ✨ Appreciate you sharing this! 🫶

    • @hanchad
      @hanchad 4 місяці тому

      @@lagomholly yes! I used to mess so much with mine and the accutane worked wonders but it is a very harsh treatment and you have to be so careful with your skin and body throughout it so it has taught me kindness around all of that. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Cetraben too, I might look into it. I use a Korean barrier cream at the moment, which is lovely but hard to get hold of so wouldn’t mind something a bit more accessible! Also wanted to share (unsure if you’ve heard of it) if your skin is ever extra dry, “slugging” helps my skin so much, so put a layer of Vaseline on the dry patches or all over before going to bed and it really helps seal in moisture 🐌 sending love Holly ☺️

    My mom never taught me how to have a proper skin care routine because she never had to have one. I used to feel embarrassed as a man looking for videos like this and reading about skincare routines but recently I realized the importance of addressing my extremely oily skin and having great skin health after getting major surgery for pilar cysts removal on my head last year. 😅

    Ive been letting products run out & either not replacing them or going more natural or less expensive. Since inflation, skincare prices are crazy in 🇨🇦. So far, my skin doesn't look better. But, it doesn't look worse either! So many products have ingredients like mica that create the illusion of a "glow", or translucency, but NOT a real skin improvement. As soon as you stop using them, your skin returns as before. After 25 yrs of skincare vigilance, what actually improved my skin is: daily sunscreen/broad-brimmed hat use DAILY!!!, cleansing skin really well with gentle cleanser/toner before bed, a very occlusive moisturizer morning & night, and I have found glycolic acid 10%/2x a week good too. Otherwise, its just controlling sugar, high water intake, sleep, and controlling stress.
    Thats it! If you take my advice, Im atleast going to save you $$THOUSANDS$$ over 25 yrs on "fake creams". Imagine what you could do with that money?!
    🇨🇦♥️

    You always look sooooo beautiful Holly and such a sweet and down to earth young woman. As you know I love your videos and have so since day one. Personally I've never done any skincare, never had any spots or acne, just a good old face wash with soap and water for me but hey I am a guy. There's too many females out there and especially younger girls who watch all these Tiky Toky's lol and see what these influencers etc use and feel they need to do the same but let's face it, they're all beautiful anyway in their own skin and I doubt any of them really need it to be honest and then they go and cake their faces in loads of make up products as well so it can't be doing there skin any good really. Yes i get that it probably makes them feel good etc when they have make up on but all they're doing is making all these companies Billions and Billions of pounds for products that, let's face it don't bloody work and they're hardly cheap also. Anyway, great video as always Holly take care now and have a lovely week ahead. ☺☺☺☺❤❤🌟🌟🌟
