    Just brilliant how you presented your path with the satellite view next to actual footage. Nice job and good explanation.

    Yup, been there, got pretty dicey but managed to get through it. Wish I had seen this video before doing it. Thanks for the video

    Good vid. Last time I went out red 24 was blown way off. Makes it little dicier coming back in.

    Glad to see this video. I’ve been stuck there. A few years ago the were using red and green markers on the same side. I went through them instead of around them and ended up high and dry.

    Nice video. Today was the first time I successfully made it through without getting stuck one time. I’ve only been twice before. Coming back was a bit dicey but I found the channel quick enough and made it back to the boat ramp at harkers island just fine.

    Great video and well done! I went through there one time many years ago when I first got my Grady 252 walkaround and was able to follow one of the locals. He stopped there at the S turn area and looked around, then took off. We followed and I am sure I was churning some sand is spots, but made it through without getting stuck. I got lucky and don't care to try it again.

    Great Video Slick! Being just a weekender, I have hit ground trying to navigate the s curve. It's amazing to see how it constantly changes. Thanks for sharing.

    Well done captain it's a tricky place there's two kinds of people going through there those that have run the ground and those that are going to

      @@SlickMoves I have been both and I've seen some good size boats running through there they're braver than I am I'll say that

    Haven't been since last fall (2022). Thanks for the info! I notice the pole is gone. I hit the wrong side of pole coming in with the rain one evening. Didn't stick, but definitely cleaned the skags that day.

    Very helpful. I got struck on the bar just before the big turn in Nov. Really appreciate the video guide through this tricky spot. Planning to give it another go soon.

    Good video Capt! I let my wife talk me into coming home that way from the Light House after cobia fishing on my 263 GW. I we got lucky and made it without issue but I swore I’d never do it again!! 😆🎣🏴‍☠️🇱🇷

    Gotta get thru the "Drain" and you're good! Seen many boats high n dry down through there. Use that "Hoigh Tida" accent too!

    Many times those home brew markers made it easier than the old CG markers did!

    The Ferry Service said they are the ones that put the balls in the “S”. I don’t know who put the gas can out there. The first time I went through, I followed the Harkers Island Ferry. I have a 26’ Sea Hunt Gamefish, and that is my desired route from Beaufort to the ocean.

    Ive been through there 4-5 times in the last 3 years without issue. My trick is to follow my friend who has a nicer boat lol. However, I was on his boat once coming back and he jumped a sandbar but got lucky making it to the other side....not so good for the 2 boats following him. They are probably still beached to this day.

    What happens when the marker is missing?

    • @SlickMoves
      @SlickMoves  Рік тому

      They go missing more times than not and in such situations, you have to go very slow and use your sight as your navigational aid. The channel is very narrow, no matter where it has moved/shifted to, so pay close attention.

    Hey Capt do you run teasers off your outriggers on the cc? I saw the teaser reels under your top and wondered how you like them? Im having a set of gemlux outriggers installed and trying to decide if I want to pull daisy chain teasers or not. Never had riggers before so it’s kinda new to me.

    • @SlickMoves
      @SlickMoves  Рік тому +2

      Absolutely. I use a glass ring that I zip tied on the rigger pole between my short and long. Works perfect.
