I can hear the hiss in the background, my Civic does the same thing where if there's no audio coming through there is a hiss. I think it's just the head unit trying to find some sort of audio to pick up on and when there's nothing there it just picks up on background electrical noise but the moment music starts playing that drowns it out.
Your car has the premium sound pack right? the amp in the glove box.... have you eliminated that from the loop or does the atoto run through it? I have an amp car and a rats nest behind it that I'd like to clean up with a small head unit
My car is a bit weird and in the original edit of this video I talked a lot about that but in the final cut decided that this was to be about the stereo, not the car. My car has the plug as if it has the eight speakers and the amp next to the glove box but from what I can tell I only have six speakers, not the eight that I'm supposed to have according to some documentation that I read. Or maybe I do have eight? I haven't visually confirmed that I have the amp but considering that this plug is there, that would suggest the amp is present. Everything except the Atoto and the adapter box is stock. My end goal would be to remove the stock amp and go full aftermarket but It's fairly low on my priority list.
Honestly man I envy you, I would so want to be able to handle such a mirror screen, but my psychopathic brain would just throw that thing trough open windows and then i would return hours later and put it to the trash. Something tells me you are not getting another review unit from them, but not a loss imo
I mean this is my drift car. Driving around and having maps on the screen, you only glance at it anyway. I have a Nintendo Wii that I was thinking about connecting up to it but why? 🤣 There are glare reducing films you can put on. And if the glare annoys me that much I can just do that. Even if I actually bought this thing. They are so cheap that with the money you save you could easily afford a glare reducing screen protector. I haven't been driving around with it much so I don't know how much it's actually going to annoy me in the real world. I'm much much more concerned with the noise it makes. Having said all of that, some OEM navigation systems have got horrible glare as well. To the point that there are hoods that extend from the dash to provide shade for them. I could do that... On your point that I probably won't get another unit to review from them. I don't know about that. Looking at my view count, subscriber numbers etc... I don't have a million subs. I don't even have a million views and they know that so you tell me, why did they send me a unit in the first place? If they were trying to get an honest and thorough review then they got a lot more than they originally asked for. And I'm still not done. I'm currently editing another video and I will make a final one that recaps and gives my actual opinions. But hey, thanks for watching, commenting and I hope you found this series entertaining. 2 more to go.
This video is confusing against the description provided: " ATOTO sent me this F7G2A7WE to have a look at and I'm impressed with what I see. Out of the box it seems to be a great quality product and the installation was super easy. The unit isn't without its issues though. " I don't get what you're impressed with. You're just complaining at the inadequacies of the head unit the entire time. Are there any redeemable qualities? Is it just hot trash? Etc.
Out of the box it looks good. That's a first impression. Perhaps you need to watch the video again. It was easy to install... So I said that. It looks to be great quality... So I said that. I still feel like this video combined with the others I did on this unit give a really in depth look at the until. Certainly more than any other UA-cam video I saw while researching it. There were things I didn't like so I said what I didn't like... Honest review is honest.... When it works it sounds great. When it works... The 2 units I got had problems. No one else has reported these problems. Are they shills? Was I unlucky? No way to answer that... I answered every other question though...

Was you being impressed with what you first saw a purely physical thing? You didn't yet hook up the unit and deal with the nonsense that ensued? It was just lost on me when I read the text. I thought no one read the description. 😂 There's Easter eggs hidden in the description of some of my videos and no one has ever commented on them. Yea I was impressed by the physical unit before the tests. The build quality looks good. It's only when you look beyond that you start to see the problems. Like on paper it's amazing. For example. The design. it's such a small unit! Yay! The main plug is too close to the mounting bracket. Booo Really nice big screen!! At night because it's pretty bad during the day. The Bluetooth connection is really good!! The first time you connect but sometimes just refuses to connect until you turn the car off. The first impression is that it's great. Look closer... Well.... I wouldn't call it trash because I don't really have anything to compare it to in that price bracket. when it's working it's great, it's cheap. I still have it installed in my Altezza... But it's far from perfect. I have a pioneer unit in my wife's HiAce and that's way better but it's 10x the price and not a fair comparison. Sorry for the confusion
If the screen on your car radio is reflective enough that a peacock would get in a fight with it, I think it might be too reflective.
