there will Never Ever be a channel like Haggard Garage

- A short summary of the rise and fall of Haggard Garage, this video could have easily been over an hour long but I really didn't want to bore everyone with all that info and a lot of the videos that would be needed for context have been lost.
All the info was taken from scouring old instagrams, reddit, and re uploaded videos. Combined with some personal recollection. Thankfully I was around for 95% of Haggard so I felt I should probably make a video about it. Some info may be incorrect or slightly off, ive left a pinned comment for corrections.
Please refrain from being negative in the comments surrounding anyone involved in the video or reaching out to them in anyway to harass, although they are all public figures, its also been half a decade, and these are all real people.
Thanks
miss haggard, not planning on watching the video but damn that was a good channel
You clicked on the video, made a comment, but won't watch it? What kinda retarded shit is that? I'm sure Cian appreciates your engagement nonetheless, idiot.
shoulda jus watched it dood .
This comment didn't age well 😂😂 they are making content again and slowly getting everyone back
it’s insane how long ago this was. i remember watching these videos in highschool wishing i had friends who were into cars like that.
Yo deadass same bro! Now we closing in on 30 and shit
You’re feeling that 2015 is long ago dude? To me and most others 1980 will always be 20 years ago.. 2015 is the future man!
facts man i think every viewer dreamed of slamming some pos on hockey pucks w the boys
Man I remember watching haggard in late elementary school and middle school, I watched ricer miata heavily thought high school
I remember being haggard garage for 3 years in high-school with my 4 drift friends, then UA-cam deleted our account after a series of street shark videos and 2 days later, haggard garage showed up.
I really enjoyed this drive down memory lane. Haggard Garage was a interesting “golden time” for UA-cam for sure.
Glad you enjoyed, thanks boss man
Make good content you fell off
We all gangster until Sammit rolls up
I hated loving their channel so much, made me mad the things they did to their cars but I loved watching them do it lol
@@Swaytic we all gangster until it's time to do some gangsta sh!t
I think Rudnik leaving after the house and starting his own channel was a huge part of OG Haggard history
There’s only one other rudnik in the car scene on UA-cam and he’s on adma lzs channel, same guy?
@@johnsolovera6993 yeah but he has his own channel “ricer miata”
@@johnsolovera6993 that’s who we are talking about, one of the original members of Haggard Garage
This comment is JUNK. 😂
@@johnsolovera6993 same dude. On the left in the first clip. what a time man lmao
Guess I'll always be known as the guy who got his weed stolen...

KWAB
ALEX, hope all is well
Orion was a thief and a huge chotch ! Hes a shitty person period !
Hey i would be mad too if my "friends" stole my shit, weed or not its the principle
🥲🥲 good times!!
Man, never realized you watched Haggard too.
@@Why_Kirino man every on watched hagard every one who likes racing games or cars...
i remmeber when slap would always rock the mint hoodies
so weird seeing this, its like I seen it all go down and didn't realize until it was over haha, Chris deserves his success though. genuine guy
Yeah for sure. His haggard side does still shine through though once in a while. If he had put the work in a few years ago, and started to do things legit back in Florida, I can imagine he’d had have a much larger following rn. He is the sole reason I’ll always “buy once, cry once” lol. At least he’s finally trying to grow his brand
Yeah but by going home I think you learned a lot about people and real friends. I think he had some major life lessons by going home.
These people convinced me that I was capable of working on my own car, and turbo'ing my b18 civic back in the day. I watched them and thought "if they can do this shit and it works, I can absolutely work on my own car without worrying so much". And I appreciate all the laughs along the way.
Same here I was doing a single turbo conversion on my legacy and I had the exact same thoughts, especially with the upside down manifold mx5 turbo that thing hissed and was so dodgy haha.
I was about 10 when I was watching them, now I’m on a track multiple times a year all around the country, feels like yesterday I was watching Chris repaint his e46
lmaoo same man definitely brought me some peace of mind on my first clutch swap bahaahah
100%
It's crazy to remember that Cam's "Heirloom 240" is now Jimmy's Cherry hatch, tbh. That thing is almost as OG as the Ricer Miata itself, and it *might* get painted soon!
i always wondered what happened to that car. im glad it went to him.
@@OhWizzer If you want to see it, it's visible in most videos of his. Currently has an unpainted bodykit, but will go to paint soon, supposedly. But I wouldn't hold my breath, Jimmy ain't exactly super fast on finishing bodywork lol
That car was the gem of Haggard. A legitimate grandma owned, automatic 240. And the history of the car is pretty dope
@MarchuxProductions Jimmy has so many cars I'm surprised how many actually have complete kits, 4 matching wheels, and fresh paint. Dudes a beast when it comes to doing full builds.
That's cool I didn't know that. But there are some similar interesting things. For example there is an old video called "Low and loud purple AE86" from sugg films which is actually the More Skids AE86 before Quentin bought it. It was stolen from the previous owner, and then sold off to more skids.
“Don’t cry because it happened, smile because it’s over” had me dead this vid bangs
If it ain't Haggard, It ain't Mint.
Well executed video.
man i wonder how many people actually remember this channel. honestly, they really pushed my intrest in cars and shaped my life into being a mechanic today
I think about it constantly bro. Every now and again I have the urge to get a random sub $1000 shitbox and weld the diff. Then I go yeah, like haggard always did. That video of them trying to a kill a 1uz still gets talked about too. They're the reason ls400s are expensive now🤣
@@tougewagon I honestly think theyre good looking cars man! my buddy at work has a fairly clean one
I was eating a bagel while watching this, thanks for the memories, my guy
Classic quote lmao
This was such a good trip down memory lane, I miss the days of the Diesel Van, the Green drift car squad, it was a different time, but a good time. Props to you for making this brother
I'm leaving a pinned comment for any corrections or info I got wrong, leave it below here, thanks boys
Punk ricer video is inspired by another video created by Roberto Victoria aka Scumberto. You didn't mention that Dylan was a convicted rapist and when on their tour when they visited Hoonigan no one wanted to interact with them because Dylan was there. This was confirmed by one of the HG filmers (Burky or something similar like that) They also promised the Little Miata that Could to Dylan and then did a 180 and announced a giveaway.
Please do a "What happened to garage sideways" video next ;)
I think the guy just got a job lol and became an adult tbh
@@cian___ yo does anybody know anything more about this whole dylan situation? Didnt know guy was such a scrand.
I feel like I remember someone saying Cam won the lottery of like $10,000 or 15,000 that helped buy a lot of the things at the first Haggard house. I remember being so confused how all of a sudden they could afford a bunch of TVs and Xbox's when they were moving in
2024 Haggard Reunion ❤️❤️
It’s definitely a vibe that can’t be recreated today. Was just a different time 😢
You just had to be there to understand 😭
the worst part is that if Orion split the money with everyone evenly and treated everyone equally and worked well with everyone the channel would still be alive and well today! Orion ultimately single handedly killed haggard garage himself! also if he didn't bring in people like alex, dom, dillan, burky, damien and chow and just kept haggard as it was originally it would have lasted a lot longer than it did
Orion was also responsible for the channel existing in the first place... You can't expect all of your teenage buddies to stick together and cooperatively build a successful UA-cam channel out of thin air just because you split the money evenly. There still would have been drama and people still would have parted ways. Orion could have acted more responsibly and ultimately much blame does lie at his feet alone but regardless, haggard garage was never meant to last forever.
amongst all the other dodgy shit he's done.
Rapist Dylan was the end.
@@Joseph-Cultimately it’s just like a rock band, many band members go on to absolutely hate each other for reasons which seem minor.
Though some kind of revenue split would clearly be preferable.
Fantastic job on this video. Summer of 2015 was such a great time. The OG Haggard era was unbeatable. I’ve stuck with Chris ever since. So glad he’s bringing Cam and Brendan back with their og cars.
Can't wait to see cam, Brendan and Chris drift together with the og cars
Brendens to big of a wimp to drift anything more or less just drive his car !
Brendan can't drive nothing's changed
I'm glad haggard hasn't been forgotten, rudnick just dropped mint merch with a mint banner! Just ordered a hat, cam was in his newest video, I'm super hyped
This was the golden age of UA-cam for me, I’d watch TJ, haggard, rudnik, LZ, thatdudeinblue reviews, Evan shanks, and the wrx guy
It’s crazy most of them became so huge
Haggard garage was incredibly influential to me this was a trip down memory lane
what, no mention of the arson??? sheeeesh!
Wow, everything you mentioned hit my nostalgia like a hammer blow. I remember watching religiously as a teenager, their videos in the shop. “Haggard South” was in my hometown, and it was so cool to see them there. Stopped watching soon after though, saw some of the Life OD stuff pop off but seemed like death knells.
Found this video when I tried to figure out what happened to them all, and it’s incredible. Criminally underviewed, I think hundreds of thousands of people had the same connection to them that I did. Keep it up man, this is awesome
In Chris' most recent videos he's trying to rekindle at least Brendan and Cam's passions for drifting, buying back Cam's e36 and getting Brendan's miata back in working order. Even had a merch drop with Mint merch to help fund their "revival" of haggard garage.
I'll never forget the diy turbo Protoge video. I think that was the video that made me realize that building cars didn't have to be a boring shopping trip, and you really can do your own thing with a bit of knowledge.
That video is how I found the channel because I had a protoge at the time. I forgot about that haha
Right in the feels. Everything in this video was perfectly spoken. I used to love watching it back then for all the shenanigans. Its unfortunate how it ended, but I am glad I was around for it.
Being 17 in 2015, this is some of the videos that started it for me. Getting home from school and just binging these videos while tinkering on my cars at the time.
I happen to get a Miata at the age of 18, I discovered these guys like a month later. I watched them from the beginning and low key felt like they were my friends due to people around me hating on the Miata because it used to not be popular.
1 am diff welding with the boys is my all time favorite qoute ever
Haggard is back...
Haggard era was definitely so different. I was literally in 6th grade watching them on my iPod. As sad as it was how it fell apart, that channel inspired a lot of people to get out and work on cars. They showed people that you can work on your car anywhere, they had single car garages that they were pulling engines. Just a group of friends sharing content. Was truly an awesome time
Tbh, the closest equivalent of Haggard that currently exists and is actually watchable is DJ's channel. It has the same crackhead energy, only Donnie's and Ant's cars are actually pretty cool, plus they have Jimmy, Brian and occasionally Spoon and Derek to give them shit
Its Haggard Garage with cool cars and DUIs lol, probably my favorite "Haggard" channel ATM.
What channel is this?
@@manatheg Djnoway, a friend of Jimmy Oakes
i second that, DJ is so funny lol im happy he made his own channel along the way
I’m stuck on ricer Miata rudnik s adhd keeps his channel with that haggard feel
I grew up with Haggard Garage. Loved watching them daily and I still remember when they got the house in the woods for the boys only. That was pure content. Miss those days. Hope the creators of HG know how much they meant to us viewers.
2014/2015 i got my license, and finding these guys changed my life haha. So much fun messing around with my Jetta, doing haggard mods and hooning it around.
You forgot the biggest build of the Cornwall house. The mint van😂.
Also surprised you didn’t mention Rudnicks car fire around the time of the split. Or their invention of “trips to Mexico” whenever hooning.
Honestly rud needs a lot more credit . His channel is absolutely fantastic. Chris is a testament to what car content should be like it’s no bs it’s a real car channel changer ❤
I wish I got into Haggard earlier. I only started watching in 2016 when they had the shop near jimmy. I think around the time Onion got the genesis.
Finally somebody tells the Whole Focking Story
Naw bro it will be out by sleigh ride trust
This is like 1/4 of the story
i remember watching these vids back when i was 7-8 with my brother who was 14-15 at the time i never understood how he watched everyone of those vids until now, i see how much you could do for so cheap and how much fun and memerios you can make with some friends and a garage. when i was around 10 i popped back in on the channel started watching them just like my bro. i miss haggard as my brother mirrored them, from watching him cutting springs in his hatch civic to mounting an bumber light bar on the front of it, it was cool to see what could be done. i am now 15 everyday i wish i could go back and watch them. amd watchimg chris trying to bring them back brings a tear to my eye😢
Fun fact: Garage Ta1k, Drift Theory (not mentioned), and Haggard Garage were all the same channel. They all had the same channel URL.
I discovered the channel in early 2015 and loved watching it. My interest in the channel dipped and I unsubbed after the move to the Cornwall house and people like Grillo, Chris, Marcus, Alex, and Brendan were shelved for the likes of Tone Bone and Slim Jesus. The 100K subscriber celebration was really cool too. The videos of them speeding down the highway getting deleted mid 2015 was interesting as well.
Dude Nujabes background music! You're the man!
I remeber when I was like 18yo at school watching haggard garage boosted protege and I was thinking "damn i wish i could do some crazy shit to cars like them". I think that channel was one of the biggest puzzle that inspired me to work on cars. I still follow ricer miata channel lol
I think for a lot of us, Haggard Garage really captured the feelings we all had at this age and doing our first mods to cars and the genuine reactions we also had. I do miss Haggard. All good things come to an end
And now, Onion and Ruddy are back.. though, it doesn't feel the same at all. Let's see where they end up taking the channel with this new style of content
Remember when they lit that huge wildfire at The Thing in Arizona, then straight dipped without calling the authorities??
Good times, man, Good times.
ODDMHGA
Never expected a never ever on a car channel, wait, this guy isn't EmpLemon, anyways, great video
I needed a name and thought it would be funny lol, thanks man
coming back after the return of orion on the ricer miata channel... this is the nostalgia we all need
I found Haggard shortly after high school in 2015. I remember thinking why my school years kinda sucked but I realized the kids in my school were into sneakers, footballs etc which I had no interest in. I was into drifting, dirt bikes, video games, racing simulators etc and it was because of Haggard I met so many friends that had similar hobbies like me by going to the car meets they hosted and drifting tracks they went to. Seeing them starting from their parent's houses working on cheap cars in a quiet suburb, drifting on parking lots to move onto drifting on proper race tracks was a big inspiration. This was a new chapter in my life all the regrets of not enjoying my high school years to it's fullest was suddenly gone. So many successful channels I see are now stemmed from this channel.
Literally watched haggard garage from 3.5k subs, it was amazing watching them rise through the ranks and then falling off like they never existed
well done, as someone who had their first video pop up on my feed the night it was posted and followed through all the bs, this was spot on. i had fallen out of love with cars around that time and watching them fuck around like we did but x10 was awesome.
It’s crazy really started watching them as a freshman in hs kinda knew by my senior year the channel was dying but I started working on my own projects myself also cool that now Chris is trying to bring back the vibes especially with buying cams E36 and building it for him dope video really enjoyed it
Haggard was the channel that got me into Miatas. I used to think the little miata that could with those blue wheels was the best looking version of it
The hockey puck video was the first one i've watched. Now after all these years i'm still watching every single video Rudnick makes.
bro... OH. MY. GOD. THE MEMORIES
Haggard was my initial introduction to the car world in middle school, as a kid I loved their videos and wanted to do stuff like them when I got older. I was lucky enough to meet them just before everything fell apart at one of the Canaan events and even made it into their video with all my friends. I'll always hold onto my old haggard merch (including an og shredder hoodie of course)
Awesome video dood! Thanks for the nostalgia.
I was on the fence about dropping the full sub, then the closer music started. Fantastic work man
The Spring/Summer of 2015 was too lit. Bought a $600 Dodge Neon, cut the springs and cut the muffler off, let people draw on the hood, etc. Had a tight group of car friends. Started a car club. Went to tons of car meets. Watched TONS of Haggard Garage. Good times, for sure.
One year later and chris and onion are reunited
who woulda ever guess CT would have a impact on the car/youtube community like it has now man
Fantastic video. ThatDudeInBlue got me into modified cars in the first place in middle school, and Haggard showed me how anyone can do it, but also the reality of a budget in high school. They really were unique, but it's sad to see how it all went later down the line. Stopped watching probably in late 2017 and saw Chris in some other video recently so they've been on my mind.
how sick that they're getting back together now
Haggard Garage and River Miata were some of my biggest inspirations to build my own cars. I was kind of local to where they were, and I'd see them at drift events and car meets. I don't watch UA-cam like I used to, but I remember going from HG to RM, and I remember all the cars and builds. I met Damion through a girl I knew, it was cool talking to him about some of the history. Crazy how long ago this channel was, feels like yesterday
Slam it on tarmacs and daily it. But for real they've all grown mentally and physically.
The feels this video just hit me with. Haggard was so unique at the time and was one of the OG channels that brought me to UA-cam back in the day.
I had a Mint banner/decal on my old V6 Rav4... We sold that car to my uncle and its still there after 6 years of Michigan winters. Can't believe that banner outlived there channel by years. Loved to look back and laugh at what they did, but I've watched Chris pretty much since he left. Even if I honestly did not like him the first time I watched a Haggard video, I love his channel and have always considered it the spiritual successor to Haggard.
Amazing video man!
was wondering if haggard was a fever dream. wondering if i was the only one to remember them. was very sad when the group broke
lol it's awesome to watch back the punk ricer talks up his evo video, I was still in college when I saw it and now 9 years later I graduated, been working at a full-time job for 8 years and got myself an r33 skyline. Crazy how time flies
Damn bro, 2015-2018 Hitting hard vibes here. Around 2015-16 i got my first Mk4 Jetta a 17 ish. Great car! Ngl it's crazy how long ago that all was, Most days i still live like it's 2015-17! Time moves Wicked fast as you Age. I started off watching chris when he was working out of his Parents house and the Haggard Garage, until it split and died. Still, i stayed and watched Chris. The best times i remember the most is when he and some friends had that really shady/rundown warehouse they rented and ofc The videos with WILL. That was fun watching the late night videos/Lives. I watched him until about 2019 or so. They both deserve their sucess FR! These days i am on the lookout once again for a GLS TDI Mk4. Thanks for making the video and bringing us along memory lane!
Amazing video brother! Gotta love the Acura fire at the end haha
Seriously though thank you for making this video :)
Thank you so much for making this video, I literally grew up on haggard garage. They introduced me to drifting when i was in 6th grade. I will forever be indebted to the channel for being the reason I love cars.
i remember the long Q+A they posted what feels like forever ago.
id watch all their videos, and they 100% got me into the youtube side of car stuff, the true "haggard" style of doin things.
i was literally inspired to just "eehhh see if this works" with cars n stuff, and didnt think i was lost if i tried.
I only ever caught bits and pieces of Haggard Garage. i remember when they were just a bunch of teens doing teen stuff, then I saw them get the house, and then I saw the dissolve videos, and that's about the extent of it. In total I had probably seen only 6 uploads. The name gets brought up all the time in car groups that I'm in and I can't help but feel I missed a part of history by not paying more attention to these guys.
These guys legit where my youth from like 16 to 19, it always seemed fishy after they moved to cornwall, I still enjoyed the videos, up until the move to washington. You broke it down really good.
holy shit does this video hit my nostalgia in all the right places, down to the vaporwave music, good times that are never to be lived again
Great video, lots of nostalgia. Laughed when you mentioned chow cause I hadn’t thought about that whole saga in forever.
Mint dood
I miss getting home from school and seeing a new haggard video, glad I was there to witness it in the best days of it.
these guys were the first car channel I found, and I got to meet a few of them at my first drift event Lock City Drift in july 2017 before everything fell apart.
I still have my signed hat
I didn't know a channel that would net 10k views a vid could go down as legendary
I don't think they had a clue either
How can you not love Chris! He is bringing the crew back together.
yo ur editing is awesome. love the music you chose 2015 was a different era
So many memories reminds me of simpler times. Great video sir
Totally forgot about these chucklenuts. Loved the tom foolery they got up to. Was sad to see them fall apart the way they did, but not really shocking either.
Man this made me so nostalgic for the good ol Haggard days!! I was obsessed, I had a protege and looked them up on youtube and and happened to stumble upon Haggard in it's infancy. That year or so before they moved to the big house was so awesome, even some of the videos when they just moved were really cool. I used to make videos with my buds back in high school, and had been graduated for about two years in 2015. So it was already hitting on some nostalgia for hanging out and fucking around with friends all day every day. I wanted a project car so bad and wanted to make videos like crazy. I feel like everyone did lol. But there were some true characters to arise from the original group, Chris Rudnik is my favorite of them all. But Cam, Grillo, Marcus, Brendan, Alex, the true OG's are great and I wish them the best. Onion, however, was a huge disappointment because he started off super cool. But ended up being trash. Such a shame. Good times! UA-cam was a simpler landscape back then!!!!
I've got good news from the future!
Dude you went deep many times while watching I said “omg I remember that” the haggard days are what inspired me to wanna become an automotive UA-camr / influencer myself. This video was well edited and the history is accurately presented well done my boy definitely earned a sub ☝🏻🔥
Haggard and early Ricer Miata were my favorite channels back when I was a freshman in college. 2014-2016. Got me hooked on building project cars for life. They were rare back then- UA-camrs who drove cars that I could afford. Same age as me. Then I got my first car, an 8th Si, and BoostedBoiz started posting videos the same month. That 2014-2016 era of car youtubers was sooo rad. It'll never be replicated.
Damn this brings back memories, seeing Orion post from time to time to no avail nowadays and then coming across this video... also reminds me of Quad Ricers, a very similar channel to Haggard Garage, they peaked at the same time and were so entertaining in a similar style, loved both of the crews back then
the slim jesus in a closet had me rolling bro
More skids was another channel that made car content on youtube more relatable. It was just a bunch of bros hanging out in their parents driveway working on cars, not really knowing exactly what they were doing but still having a good time. A whole lot less drama too
great commentary, made me look back thinking how influential some of these videos really were to my own car passion
My God, somebody went and actually documented this period of time for the sake of mankind.
This is a great retrospective, but I did raise an eyebrow at the claim that Haggard is responsible for the Miata’s popularity in the tuner/drift scene. They’ve been popular with that crowd for decades, and became kind of a meme in car culture in the late 00’s on Jalopnik.
I'm so glad you added the Acura fire at the end
in 2017 with one drift game and Haggard garage my passion for cars started and it changed everything, i have to say i stoped watching them when they moved to Florida, but for the age i had and lack of passion was really great inspiration for me.
I honestly didn't realize how much they effected me, I grew up on NFS U2/Tuner Shit, and totally forgot about these guys until now! Have been on the classic muscle, and pickup side of things for the last couple years, gotta get back to my roots!!!
Haggard Garage was awesome. Even though it was "haggard" shit they were doing mod wise, it was nice to relate to them. Broke teens trying to do cool car shit on a budget.
