  • This will be a series following my complete build and custom painting of the DO3D released files for the IRONMAN GEMINI MK39 STARBOOST full scale 3d printable body armour suit.
I'm very new to 3d printing and all of the associated softwares, so let's jump in and I will shorten my journey for you, all the softwares you will need to get started.
Very easy with some basic tools on each software and you will be mastering it in mo time.
Awesome thanks to DO3D for their part in this project, lots of files over on their forum, free and top of the range paid files.
Here is a link, I totally urge you to join these guys, some free files as soon as you walk through the door, which are also top of the range
Its teams of people like DO3D that make this hobby so awesome and fulfilling, especially when all this 3d design and printing was totally new to me.
Get joining guys, what are you waiting for.

And Frank from Frankly built on youtube, awesome dude, I was looking for a full body armour build I could do, I soon came across his MK85 Ironman build.
Totally blew me away, I said.. I wannabe be that guy.
So I hit him up for a few tips and he advised me about the new starboost suit and the Do3D forum, he said I should grab those files and give it a try, and the rest is history.
Absolutely advise checking Franks channel out if you plan on building a full suit or are just interested in cosplay or just body armour in general, you wont be disappointed.

More content coming as soon as funds permit, filament has went up to silly prices at the moment with what's going on in the world.
So if any 3d printer companies or filament companies think their product could be used in this project and other future projects, please get in touch at ...

Did you get the full file? ( the hidden questionnaire said that they would send the lower part soon) but it's been already 3, 5 weeks tbh

Awesome prints sir!! I am also working on this suit as my first big build after some little trinkets and things. It’s a long journey and a learning curve I know, but it will be worth it! I do have a question for how you scaled the helmet. I’m having trouble scaling it to fit my head because the opening is narrower than the rest of the helmet. How did you scale it big enough to fit over your ears but small enough to fit correctly? Thank you so much!

      Hi Reece, much appreciated
For scaling I just made the helmet 110%
It fit fine and looked great.
I also heated up a 100% and spread it out to accommodate my ears, but it ended up needing to be too out of shape to fit the back plate.
      So I stuck with the 110% .
      👍👍👍

@@oraclescave thank you for the reply! I’m glad I’m not the only one who dealt with the same problem. I went ahead and started printing at 100% because I have a small head; hopefully that’ll work 😁

@@YaLikeJazz615 If its a tight fit, just use a heatgun or hairdryer on hot, and heat helmet until it goes soft-ish.
      And slowly spread outwards.
The small one was easy for me to shove on, but my ears would get caught trying to remove, then it was very claustrophobic being closed inside it, so going bigger gave me more space as I was adding a flip face helmet with extra mechanism inside.
Once you have the suit on its very tricky trying to reach your own helmet so help is needed to get it on and off.

What brand of flexible filament did you use. And what settings did you run it at?

    • @oraclescave
      @oraclescave  4 роки тому

It was just cheap stuff with a chinese name I will update this message when I find the name, but the sticker on the reel says XYD filament.
I use an artillery sidewinder x1 3d printer, really good at TPU,
      Bed 60
      Hotend 220
      70mm second
And it printed very good, but it was my first time ever using it, I hear it's very hard to use on the 3d printers with Bowden tubes.
But the sidewinder nails it like a boss.

im using a cr10s pro is there anything i should know regarding using the tpu flexible filament compart to pla ? as in settings etc...

    • @oraclescave
      @oraclescave  4 роки тому

Not really, the settings are similar, I used 60 build plate, 220-225 hotend, 70mm second.
But TPU is known to be a nightmare in a Bowden style extruder, my machine has a direct drive extruder, so it's easy for my machine.
TPU Filament jamming in the bowden tube is the biggest concern, but so far that is just rumour as I have not experienced it on the cr10 myself.
I use Artillery sidewinder x1, awesome all in one silent machine.
Either google TPU Issues in cr10 to find out if it is worth trying with your set up.
My extruder is on my hotend that's why it works, no long Bowden tube to go down after the extruder retracts and pushes.
Or just give it a go but I would recommend checking it out first on google, I seen lots of people struggling with it when I checked up about it with my cr10s V2.
      Hope this helps you dude.
      👍👍👍
