Founded in 1954, the Satyrs Motorcycle Club is the oldest, continuously running gay organization in the world. The men in this motorcycle club were profoundly affected by the two world wars and Stanley Kramer's film, The Wild Ones, which featured a leather-clad icon Marlon Brando. Through archival photos, vintage film footage, and first hand accounts by the men who were there, Original Pride: The Satyrs Motorcycle Club offers a revealing look at the evolution of gay motorcycle club culture and its influence on the larger LGBTQ and modern leather communities.

What an inspiration. Not only to a gay masculine man, but to gay MANkind. You guys ROCK.
Excelent video document. Old good times times, old good stories, OLD GREAT HISTORY! I am from South America, this video make me feel nostalgic about an era i did not live.
Wonderful! Thanks for posting.
Love this very cool. Own and ride a Harley sportster, would love a group of riders like this.
Most likely no one will read this. The year is 2024. The leather community is my home. The members are my family.
I read it and it sounds wonderful. 🏍️ 👍🏻 🏍️ 🐻
And I've just read it as well, and it does sound rather nice.
Hear, hear! Member of the leather community and a BLUF member as well!
This is the first time I have watched this, it is so cool.
If I had of known about the Satyrs Club when I was living in California "Where I as born a raised on the Mojave Desert" I would of joined up. I'm now living in Oklahoma, and they won't except outsiders :( Now if I ever go back to California, I just may try to join because they are some great people.......
Thank you so much to post this… I sure do miss these times….
WOW! What have i missed!? Hot times with hot guys, these beautiful people are the true spirit of America and what actually makes it great! Massive respect from UK.
In a sense they do. All lesbian MCs are their spiritual sisters. Many of these men were the fathers of the modern leather/SM/fetish movement among LGBTs.
All of a sudden, I want to join a gay motorcycle club.
Florida's club for Gay motorcyclists is The Stonewall Knights. Based in Ft Lauderdale.
Important film, great people, timeless.
I nearly dropped my beer when I saw Alden Spafford's pic!. 46:38. I knew him when he was a member of the California Eagles MC in San Francisco! Alden...RIP
i love that they gave greek names to their groups, because ancient greece was very very gay
That's a fact.
Hope to live something half as awesome one day...
HELLO FROM 2023 next year will actually be 70 years ...
Coming to FX this fall, Sayters MC
So interesting! And I love how frank it is in parts. And to be shallow for a moment, a lot of these guys were hot AF!
Wow ! Great documentary.⛓️🧤🥾🖤💙
I remember reading Frank Butterfield's The Biker Who Got Bumped Off where Howard "Howie" Kirkpatrick met some Bike Riders. It was around 1948 and it took place in Daytona Beach, Fl, and if you were Black, you couldn't live in certain places and the only way you could work in certain places if you had a Working Card.
Interesting part of the largely unknown world of gay history facts.
that was just the sexiest most interesting slice of gay history i've seen ...loved it.
Thanks for share it !
wasn't around for that, but nice to see pics of when I was young and more or less cute.
At 14:45......112 broken bones in a single accident? Skeptical. In his whole career, Evel Knievel fractured only 35 different bones (some of them, several times on different occasions) in all his accidents combined.
I thought about that too, I am sure he is making things up
I don't think they were protected. That'd make it worse. That or some underlying condition. Less padding the more injuries especially how thin he was with no armor or any type.
Gay community like this is seems hard to come by.
So uplifting so cohesive. But whats the reason for no black people in the community can anyone tell me
27:00
...and more.
So you say these guys are really just people, no kidding? Wow! Who new huh?
There is a screenplay in this ..................

Rob Halford was the leader of the gang??? XD
Satyrs is the male equivalent of nymphomaniac.
Starting with a mention of Ikenhauer? Not exactly the gay community's best friend.
That's right I love this I wish I could have been alive at this time
Did they have a ladies auxiliary?
Were these men the inspiration for the Bear Movement? Cuz some of the good lookn men are very bearish...wooof! Masculine and butch very much like bears.

We're you even listening? I don't think this said they were. This is based on the experience on those rebels who did their own thing and to this day branched to others.
