Hello everyone, I recently created an account with buy me a coffee, a site where creators can get funded. Anything is greatly appreciated, and 20% of every dollar will go to the charity Feeding America. The link is here 'www.buymeacoffee.com/ross117 ', on my channel about page and in the description of my videos. Thank you so so much everyone, I hope to continue many more years of creating content
It's like watching it for the first time.
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Ross-117 thank you so much for posting this!
I agree I still laugh as hard
@@crmay72 I prefer the black and white
She really looked a lot like Debra Messing
This looks like a totally different show in color. It certainly has always been impossible not to laugh at Lucy.
It really does, they did an excellent job colorizing it!
I love Lucy never gets old!!
Been watching it for over 60 years.
Outstanding colorization. Perfect 50’s era hews. Brings this wonderful show to life.👏
The colorization they did on this was amazing!
I love seeing Lucy's red hair and color adds a depth to the fashion back then.
I think so too!
It's such a breath of fresh air that their are still some people who like the simpler things in life......... That what Lucy was all about. I am a big big fan. She has provided nothing but endless laughs for decades.😁💁🏽♀️
That’s why I love it!
2:51 😂”Smells like Aunt Martha had too many old fashions!”
Watching Ricky as he empties the purse, would be great in a vlog of "What's in my purse?"😂
Lol!!
Nice Colorizing!! We've all seen Lucy so many times that it puts kind of an interesting spin on the show to see it in color so very well done!!
It really is great colorizing, but I did not colorize it myself (Haha), CBS did.
@@Ross-117 Thank you for sharing it regardless.. I may not have caught it otherwise!
The way lucy is eating the salad and salad dressing is so hilarious
Colorization has come a long way. I think they've done a great job with colorizing I Love Lucy. Looks so good.
They really have!
Agreed!
She was, is & will always be the undisputed Queen of Comedy.
Love rewatching episodes of I Love Lucy in color, it's refreshing and gives the series another dimension as if you're watching it for the first time.
It really does!
I Love Lucy and she loves us ! She will live on in the hearts of her fans !
😃
This is really cool to see these clips in color. We're watching them just like the audiences that watched the show live back in the 1950s during taping sessions, would have seen them!
Wow I never thought about it like that!
I've thought that about the audience as well.
Wow watching the same color makes me appreciate their wardrobe and their decorating it’s beautiful
Best memories ever!! Timeless!! Quality looks amazing!!!!
Couldn't agree more!
Lucy always and forever 😊😍😁👍💖❤❤❤❤ a true light of the show
I Love Lucy is still classic television.
The episodes get better, better.😊
I wish somebody would colorize the entire series-I truly do love I Love Lucy.
Me too!
How do they colorize. I mean are they the colors they were wearing at that time
ME Too!! I have it all in B&W
I love the show too. But I'm in the group of fans that believes that colorization never looks right or natural. The people who do the process cannot possibly know all the correct hues for every prop and shirt and wall; the majority of this is guesswork ("We'll make the kitchen curtains yellow", etc etc). The only things we can copy correctly in colorization are based on the still photos or the limited pieces of footage that were actually shot in color on the _I Love Lucy_ set back in the '50s.
Nothing wrong with black and white. It gives the classic shows from yesteryear a certain charm. I'd hate if someone added color to The Twilight Zone; that would change its particular vibe completely, all those deep shadows and stark whites and cool grays. Plus, I used to hate when they colorized the first seasons of Bewitched or Gilligan's Island on cable TV ... it always looked fake and tacky.
Wow, love this colorization! My mom was a kid when this show started. She hated the plots , cuz Lucy always creates her own problems! On the opposite, I grew up watching from the late 70s 'til now, and I still LOVE sitcoms! Sure wish and hope Lucy knew the Lord!. Would be so awesome to talk to her about all her shows! Thanks Ross117!! Luv your channel!
Thanks so much!
The lottery moment has me ROLLING
Haha!
I wish they would release all the seasons in color!
Me too!
Right 2 bad i already own it as it is on regular dvd
You made a really good job with the colorization. Bravo 👏👏👏👍
Thank you very much! CBS actually colorized these clips, I compiled and edited them.
Loving this. Makes me want to watch every. single. one. again! I just love looking around the room at the décor as much as I enjoy their wardrobe! Thank you!
It is really eye candy, everything looks so nice.
@@jasonbaileystudent9088 I couldn't agree more!
@@jasonbaileystudent9088 Me too!
Me too.
I usually don’t like colorization but this looks great. I occurs to me that is how the four of them saw the show in real life. Good job!😊
I never thought about it like that!
They were all so young & beautiful. I miss the 1950's. It was a much better time to be alive in America.
They were really pretty!
Well maybe consider how condescending it was towards women first.
To just piggyback on Nelli. This was also before the civil rights movement, back when political figures were still getting assassinated. It’s less than a century after slavery *kind of* ended. Let’s not even mention gay rights. So, who was America better for?
Yes, the 1950's was a great time to be alive in America: for the WHITE MALE!!!
the colorization looks so natural
I know, it really is amazing they did it this well!
Excellent video thanks for sharing it I never get tired of I Love lucy
Thanks so much!
So many great memories ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I LOVE THE AUDIENCE LAUGHTER, it doesn't sound fake like today's stupid shows the audience laugh at every sentence !!!
Me too!
They should really re-release it in color on streaming services
I think one day when the technology gets cheap enough they will.
It gives them another life in color, 💖🙏if only they could have seen them self in color……what a team ……unforgettable , for ever in my heart ♥️
Me too!
Thank you so much for these! Hope you are able to keep em coming! 🙏🏻😻🙌🏻
It bothers me about how much they would poke fun at Ethel's weight, when Vivian Vance was actually 6 years younger than and could be just as glamorous as Lucille Ball. BTW, compared to the people I see in public nowadays, Ethel Mertz was SKINNY 😂😂😂
Haha I think the joke was that she was skinny, especially when Fred who was obviously bigger was making the jokes most of the time.
She was actually 2 years older than Lucy, but I get your point. If I remember correctly, her contract required her to be a certain weight (like 10lbs heavier than Lucy or something like that). It's crazy to think that someone of average weight being called fat. Those were the times with its own standard of beauty 🤷🏽♀
Ethel was thin and very pretty. Fred was always complaining but that coot was damn lucky to have her.😆
Lucy and Ethel actually wear the same dress sometimes. (It’s trimming had little arrows along the pockets I think.) why they always play her like she’s bigger than Lucy?!
Back in the 1940's Vivian Vance was a regular star on the stage where she would often play thin glamourous women.
I laughed like crazy at the salad dressing part🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too!!
Green and blue clothes contrasted spectacularly with her red hair🔥
I think so too!
Hence why any true ginger have either green or blue eyes ..
She looks so much like Debra Messing in those glasses
Agreed!
She absolutely did
Wish they released a DVD version of the series to have both original b/w and color options
I think one day when the technology gets advanced enough they will!
In colour, I just love it!
It really is so great!
Another great show is mama fam. Crazy about that one too.
I wonder how these get colorized. The skin looks near perfect. I wonder if the hair colors are just as perfect.
Supposedly the colors are accurate, they are very vibrant though I wonder the same thing!
I wish they would do all the episodes in color every single one its awesome seeing it this way
Love it!
Thanks so much!
Loved them all!!!!!
Oh Vivian was such a talent - I adore her. I wish I’d been alive when she was - what I wouldn’t give to meet her.
I like seeing it in color.
Me too!!
Love Lucy’s dress in scene 1
Me too!
Weird. There is something really unnatural seeing this in color after decades of watching it in B & W.
Some would certainly agree with you!
It really is… just a little odd
Episodes like "The Diet" and "The Million Dollar Idea" not only make mw hungry but they make me appreciate home cooked meals with homemade everything. I've gone so far as to make my own dressings and sauces.
Seeing color version..the women dress are so cute 😁
Agreed!
That was so much fun thank you
Really terrific 👍😁💕
Thank you!
Yes. Excellent work
It really is!
Proud to say my eleven year old loves Lucy, too 😊
Obvioulsy it would be even more fun to have it all in color.
Agreed!
I love this show.
I miss them too
Hope they come back on in the early morning and then the golden girls they have been off for Christmas. Hopefully! They both come back after new yr. Love the colonization cool!
I hope the episodes go back to airing too!
I know purist would hate it, but I'd love to see the entire series in this color configuration..
Me too!
This looks amazing. I Love Lucy❤
Me too!
Awesome ‼️. Thanks.
Thank you!!
What a great show. Abs legends these people right here
They really were!
my very favorite show
Me too!
Major lucy fan i collect her stuff ❤❤❤
Me too!
Vivian Vance was very talented. I'm not sure she gets the credit she deserves. And no matter how hard they tried to make her dumpy, she was still pretty.
She really was so talented and pretty!
Major major lucy fan. 😍
Amazing!!
Thanks!!
June 12, 1978....The day I graduated high school...😝
Wow!
Yes it is like watching it for the first time
The color really breathes fresh new life into it!
RIP to all 4.
I love it thanks ❤️
I'm glad you like it!
While the original black and white will always have its classical charm, there is something kinda great about finally know what colors everything was. Their clothes, their furniture, Lucy's home decor and decorations, it's something I really loved seeing.
The colorization is absolutely beautiful - they all look gorgeous partic Lucy - doesn anyone know if colors are accurate and how they do this?
Yeah the colors are accurate, they used old design sketches, technology, and old on set color footage to get the colors. They then do it frame by frame, I think I saw a thing somewhere that said each episode took 20 hours to do!
@@Ross-117 wow so good to know I head otherwise re: coloirzation. Thank you.
I like it in color
Me too!
4:35: I always envisioned the Ricardo's living-room walls to be turquoise with white trim. In reality the walls were an UGLY mud brown.
Haha!
I love I love lucy
Me too!
Cool
I would love it if they colorized all the episodes. I have all the seasons of I Love Lucy including the Lucy and Desi Comedy Hour on DVD and I've seen every episode many times. But if they were all colorized it would be like watching each episode for the first time. All it takes is someone in a position of power to care and put it together. It's also interesting to see the color of the clothing they wore back then. It's not even close to what I thought it was.
I noticed that too!
Like you, I have all the episodes and have watched them many many times. ♥️ I just don’t love it in color. Do you think these are the real colors of their clothing? I don’t know the process of “colorizing” it, so I always wonder how they come up with the colors. The film is black and white. How would anyone know now what color everything was? Or am I totally naive to the process? Anyone know?
Awwww thx for the ⬆️ loads!
😃
It is like watching The Ricardo’s and the Mertzes in the way I Love Lucy should have been.
Desi Arnaz actually wanted the show to be in color originally! It was too much money and the adoption of color tv hadn't fully taken place yet. I'm so so glad he went with black and white because the quality of the picture is soo much better then the color shows of the time (Like the Lucy show after it switched to color!)
@@Ross-117 It is true. The black and white was good. I do like the color version, I still love the black and white I find the episodes to be classic
Hilarious🤣
Thanks!
Getting drunk on vitamitavegimen lolol
Haha!
I watched this show on nick at night all the time. in the 90's. Awesome in color. Immediately when I re watched Lucy as an adult I got heavy Amy Poehler vibes. Turns out she mad a doc about Lucy and Desi. Lucy is the OG
Agreed!
The wallpaper in the last clip looks quite familiar! In Carol Burnett’s show?? Possible?🤔
This is the way it should have looked if desi could have been more of a VISIONAIRE than he already was
I’m very happy he filmed it in B/W, as the quality of color cameras was awful at the time. If you look at season 2/3 of the Lucy show when they switched to color you can see the difference in picture quality.
I love I love lucy she is so funny I have been watching for a long time my favorite is the commerical and the chocolate factory
Those are great episodes!
Sometimes I feel like im married to a garbage disposal
Lucy always spoke so abruptly to Ethel.
❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Can you do every episode in colour?
Haha I don’t colorize these episodes, only 16 have been colorized by CBS. If you like this I would recommend purchasing the I Love Lucy Colorized Collection, a dvd set with all the colorized episodes (Except 1).
It looks great, except for a couple of things. Lucy’s hair looks orange instead of red. Vivian’s hair looks yellow instead of blonde
I agree, although the things they used to dye their hair back then made their hair vibrant (Henna, etc).
Yeah some of the colorization makes her hair look a little bit too bright, it almost looks fake. In real life her hair was more of a ginger color, it wasn't orange like a cartoon
👏👏👏😍
Looks different in color 🎉
I collect her stuff.
The days are long gone when a man ever went into a ladies handbag. It was taboo when I was growing up but on the I love Lucy show, it doesn't matter.
I remember tensing up a bit when Ricky looked in her handbag (Haha they are like the untouchable object now)!
There are theories that say shows like I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners are funnier in B&W because you're focusing on the comedy and not distracted by the colors.
That’s interesting, I hadn’t heard that before
That actually makes perfect sense
That makes absolutely no sense. Whether in B&W or color, nothing distracts from the comedy or stars of this iconic show.
Too funny!!!!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks!
Why was he digging through her bag lol 😆
Haha 😂
I’ve never seen the scene with him going through her purse. What episode is that?
It’s the episode ‘Bonus Bucks’!
I Love Lucy my favorite one fan Big Color Seasons DVD 📀 Dolls Jamestown New York Lucy and Desi Museum Love my favorite one fan Big 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖🎶🗽
I have always wanted to visit!
How did they put this in color?!
They looked at sketches from the show and notes written down for production in addition to color footage taken by attendees of the live takings.
