- Drivers have sounded the alarm about new auto technology designed to prevent crashes on the road that they say is actually creating a danger, causing their cars to stop unexpectedly. abc7.ws/2JvNrcr
You can deactivate the system in the menu but everytime you shut of the vehicle and restart the vehicle you have to deactivate it again. Onle takes 5 seconds and had no problems since.
How to do it
Just remember that vehicle sensors in any car are driver aides not driver replacements. You can always turn them off if you dont like them.
He’s trying to make others aware of an issue. It’s needs to be a recall.
I just purchased a 2019 Nissan Sentra not even 45 days ago and I have already experienced this issue twice in one day. I was driving on 275 in St Petersburg Florida major highway here and the aeb system went off I had no idea what it was and I freaked out I was driving at 65 miles per hour coming up on a huge overpass curve on the freeway and the lights went off with "warning malfunction", the car started to decrease in speed I couldn't go over 60 mph. Thankfully I was able to exit the highway safely and get off the road. I turn the car off and let it sit, when I turned it back on it was gone. I have an appointment to see my Nissan dealer Monday morning as the tech on the phone told me that this just happens sometimes and that the sensor needs to reset. Apparently it's just not the Rogues having this problem I've read that it's also the sentra's and the Altimas and other Nissans.
It's scary! I have had the same thing happened to me here in New York City. And heaven knows I couldn't wait to exit the highway. Quite a frightening experience! If it's unable to serve its intended purpose then why put in the car as a quote and quote "safety feature" Nissan ought to do better than what they are doing. Whilst I understand it's a business, but at the same time the safety of their consumers should be paramount
I reported my 19-Rogue to that NHTSA about my brake failure. I just put my view today 10/25/21 as Born DIY here in Clrwtr. I found the NHTSA site and they had 170-Complaints and ?4-injuries. HUGE and I believe all the Nissans can have these problems.
Wish I would have known this before being “forced to buy one” now I’m stuck with an unsafe vehicle
Same here!
Same
I had a 2018 Nissan Rogue SL- found that if I went from a dark to light environment (such as coming out of a parking garage) the vehicle would brake randomly. I even had it happen once while driving under a tunnel.
My 2019 rogue sv does this when im driving in heavy rain and also stopped right before the metal plates in the street 🤦🏽♀️
@@asilinnkimani1335 wow!! Now that's scary!
yes, this happened to me at an airport yesterday. Thank you
I own a 2019 Rogue SL AWD and think I have this condition. As auto in front of me makes
a left into a left turn lane, as I approach the lane, my Rogue "Slams" on the brakes and is
a hard stop. It's shocking and quickly step on the gas and look in rear mirror. Fortunately cars behind me where not close. Even on US19 here in Clearwater, I have had the brakes
applied as I am merging onto US19 and try to continue a lane change, it applies the brakes. This is not happen daily but happening just once is scary enough.
I work for a rental car agency where about 20% of our fleet are new Nissans. They constantly have problems with the forward collision braking activating when it's still 10-20 feet away at less than 5 mph. It should not be so sensitive at that low a speed.
I wonder if a small piece of electrical (black) tape
could hide the camera from seeing anything would work?
the system usually only brakes in speeds lower than 35-37 mph so if youre on the higway it supposed to just alert
Toyota and Honda are the only great Japanese cars. The rest are are only craps especially Mitsubishi and Nissan.
Lot of times I was considering to go with Nissan for their affordable prices though not advised. But after seeing this, I totally changed my mind. I'd rather keep my life safe rather than risk it just to save couple of thousands of $.
So very true! Thinking about selling my Nissan Rouge sl 2018 after that exact frightening experience. The risk is simply not worth it
Let's not forget that ford proved that it's cheaper to pay out on deaths caused by their cars than it is to fix all the defective vehicles. The price of the fix for ford would have been something like $11 per vehicle. Yep.
Annoying
i have a 2017 Nissan Rogue doing the same thing. Check engine light comes on. No problems with gas mileage or engine idling rough. i replaced with a Hitachi equivalent and check engine light came on immediately and gave me another error code related to MAF sensor. When i clear the code, it stays off for about 400 miles and then comes back on upon starting the vehicle. i think it is something else, but dealer wants $600 to replace the MAF (which didn't work!), so i'm going to keep clearing the code until i'm tired of doing it or mileage suffers or engine runs erratic. i've read several blogs about problems with P0102 codes on Nissan vehicles.
I have a 2020 Nissan Rogue and have never
had this problem at all.
I also have a 2020 Rogue. The rear collision mechanism just started malfunctioning!
I own a 2018 rogue took it in to the dealer for sudden breaking in 2019 in look like the problem was fix , But now in 2021 Im having the same problem again specially during heavy snow accumulation.
All Nissan have the same problem sensors problem
My 2017 did this on traintracks during a sunny day and stopped on the tracks.
Omg that happen to I was so scare the train had just pass and it was time for us to go and brake out of no where I got so scare and I had my kid with me,people looking like am crazy for braking in the middle of the train tracks and know the error chassis system came on on my creen the radio screen is off but you could still listen to the radio it goes on and off when it feel like it to turn on the screen. 😅 but am driving a 2018 safe car 😅
Happened to me earlier today. I plan to drive my 1977 dodge w200 with no abs in Columbus ohio traffic until I get the car taken into a dealership. There was a semi behind me and I made it onto the side of the freeway before being rear ended. IM BEYOND PISSED OFF!
I bought a Nissan Rouge 2023 in January. In April, drove to New Orleans and driving through rain, my sensor light went off and everything shut down except being able to drive. Pulled over in a rest area, yutner the car off and when I turned it on everything was fine. 100 miles later the same thing. The in October, drove to Colorado, same thing except light snow. Had to stop twice. Nissan says it’s normal in wind, rain, snow and dust. Really?
We have 2020 Nissan Rogue sport which gives us the same trouble, stops abruptly without notice while driving. We talked to the Nissan corporate office customer service and they advised us to bring it to the nearest dealership but we are scared to drive the car
anymore so we are towing it to the dealership. We are requesting for a refund or any other models other than Rogue.
We bought this 2020 Rogue sport from Carvana in the year 2022 and Carvana personnel mentioned that they are unable to do anything on this issue. Now my wife who's driving this car is commuting to work by taxi or some other means of transportation
Rogue is lying at our parking. lot
If this happens, it says in the manual to accelerate to deactivate the automatic brake. Has anyone's airbags been activated when this has happened? Has anyone been hurt?
I have EU model of Roque - NIssan X-Trail 2019 with EAB and Not once did it work unnecessarily and once it saved me from a collision when the car in front of me suddenly stopped. Perhaps new cars already have it improved.
Just found this today - it's been happening to me with my used 2019 Nissan Rogue
Laughing when video is about a Nissan issue and it's a Nissan ad to start it off.
TURN IT OFF IN SETTINGS!
You have to turn it off every single time you get in the car. It gets annoying fast and sometimes you forget.
I am pretty sure my 2019 Rogue SL does not have Forward-Sensors. I would like it to have them. Forward stopping is automatic ONLY when I drive with Cruise-On. You know the auto will 'stop' if you get detracted but not sure it works on humans. Have not experienced that and hopefully never.
It's a lifelong Datsun-Nissan enthusiastic, do not buy a Nissan as long as they are affiliated with Renault. Since Renault and Nissan have had their partnership Nissan's quality standard has gone downhill other than Ford, Nissan has the 2nd highest rate of recalls on vehicles since 1999.
I'm scared to drive my car now
I have a 2018 Rogue SL. Mine has done it one time going underneath an overpass. You can turn it off, but have to do it everytime you start the ar
@@richardporter6686 does it still stop when you turn it off? Because my light come on when I do
Nissan isn't the only one with this issue , all vehicles have same issues
Wow! Really? Didnt know that. That's terrible if that's the case
Mine stopped me today as someone ran a red light and saved my life.
I’m here for my 2020 rouge, I’ll be backing up and the breaks slam on and nothing is there.
I know for myself, twice I was stunned thinking I hit something backing up. The backup is Designed to immediately stop if it senses something near the back within 12-inches from the item or auto. I was being guided by driver of van close to my carport. My '19-Rogue slammed the brakes because I was too close to the van. Then
I remembered about the sensors but you forget at times how the brakes slam on,
you really think you hit something.
Me too! It just started doing this. What did you do? Do you know whether the dealer offers free maintenance for this issue? 🤷🏾♂️
Nissan Rogue gone “Rogue”!
just happened to me when there was no reason.
Im a little skeptocle about this. Modern cars can be scanned and saves reports when you brake and turn on lights and all that cool stuff. Show us the raport
That technology is on all cars , and most manufacturers have similar concern , Even Tesla . A software update I can most likely will fix it ..
It*
You shouldn't have to!! The technology should be able to carry out its intended purpose. Nissan is a pile of junk!
This is true also the air stops for no reason
Scotty Kilmer is right everytime he says that Nissan cars are one of the lowest quality. i have a 2016 nissan rogue that squeaks evrytime i hit a bump. hazard lights just turn on sometimes while im driving. the coolant got emptied for reasons i dont know why. generally im not happy with this shitty car. it does look good on the outside but performance wise? PFFFFFT!
Hyundai is worse
I have a 2015 Rogue with 80,000 miles and no issues
dan vaj why did you buy that stupid car in the first place if you are complaining so much 😂
@@robinqm Idk what experience you've had but hyundai/kia are actually improving unlike Nissan. Reason being, they still use garbage CVT.
SCOTTY IS A TOYOTA MAN AND THATS STILL JAPANESE!
My Nissan rogue is not stopping the sensors aren’t working I have a Nissan rogue and August 29, 2022 my Nissan rogue just know sensory kept going in the car in front of me and then the sensor started going off this was after driving my car through a very hard rain the day before
I have a 2019 Rogue it’s doing the same. Emergency Break stays on
main reason I found out what's causing this, is heat waves emitting from the ground. There causing the radars to sense objects/cars , when nothings there.
or just some shitty technology/Bad Manufacturing. haha
We had a 2020 and it did this. We got rid of it
did you repurchase? or buy another
Why would he repurchase a faulty model again?
one sensor costs 1400 dollars to replace
🧐I don't know about car 🚗🚘🚙
This has happened to me with a Nissan sentra 2020
I only have the car for 4 months and the car just stops for no reason
Drive a Honda CRV or Toyota RAV4
My friend leased a brand new 2020 Camry Sport Loaded and it is using a quart of oil about every 1K-miles. Won't own another Toyota.
Most Toyotas have Oil consumption problems with there vehicles most of these modern vehicles are not that reliable like they use to be
@@quincyrhinehart3635 you are wrong that’s hyundai and Kia
@@quincyrhinehart3635 wrong that’s Volkswagen and Hyundai
I got murano 2015 platinum I buy brand new this is my last Nissan in my life ,they service suck ever car suck
Keep the sensors clean
If a flying object obstructs it, it will stop immediately no matter where you are.
