I wrote this once in this comment section but you said that we should @ you: I ordered a CLA 220 4matic with all features which arrives in April. I now think of asking the dealership to switch to the C class 180 with the same features because it is equally expensive. I am not sure what to do because a lot of my friends said that the CLA built quality is so much worse and that I should switch to the C 180. Does anyone know one thing or two about this?
Messaged you on your other comment 🤓 Briefly summed up, it all depends what you’re after. Build Quality is very good on German cars but there is a difference from the entry level models of Mercedes and the higher models in the range (and the price 😅) I’m more than happy with my A-Class, but some would prefer to go up a step and have even more luxurious materials. Just depends what you want 🤓
@@WinkelHoof this is actually a compliment. But are you one of the few who actually use both hands to drive? My hands always rested next to the pad that's why I use it
Thanks for watching! If it helps I’ve produced a video for the A-Class changes: ua-cam.com/video/pc5dXuiuBtY/v-deo.html As they’re the compact cars, virtually everything in this video is exactly the same for the CLA 🤓 The only thing that isn’t is point number 8 which refers to the A-Class design. Everything else though is exactly the same for the CLA.
Hi Nick Another helpful review thanks. I too fall into the group that’ll miss the touchpad - it’s not a big deal but swiping the screen repeatedly does tend to lead to smudges and smears (even with clean hands)! The other thing I usually take into consideration when comparing the likes of the forthcoming CLE Coupe and, say, CLA Coupe, is that 2 door cars tend to be more difficult to get out of in tight spaces like a garage because the doors are usually wider. Both cars are amazingly stylish in my view from what I can see, so if I’m fortunate enough to have the choice in a years time, it’ll be difficult to decide between them. Ken
I’ve had my CLA 180 AMG line executive coupe for about 2 weeks now, so I found this video very interesting. I’ve been driving Mercedes for quite a long time now and have also had over the years 3 A class 180’s and a C class 200 Sports edition (which is the car I part Ex’d for my CLA) I do love my CLA I have to say, as my cousin put it “it’s a really sexy looking car” 🤣🤣 great video, I really enjoyed it 😊
I am currently driving a 2021 A class 200d 4-door saloon AMG line executive and I love it. As for the CLA for me, it has got to be the coupe, I just love coupe/saloon cars
Nice explanation 👍 CLA AMG line specification says they are having Lowered Comfort Suspension. What does that mean, compared to A class do you feel more vibration when driving on bumpy road? And do you know how does it impact the rear passengers
Thank you! 🙏 All of the compact models I’ve noticed have that name, it’s probably just a way of explaining that it’s the comfier one compared to the AMG models like the A 35 and A 45 S. The whole suspension on the car is great, no complaints on that one 🤓
Thank you! 🙏 Sadly haven’t seen one of the facelift ones yet but I did check out Mercedes-AMG’s recently which was great fun! ua-cam.com/video/VGRJNB4-CYs/v-deo.htmlsi=xPZ9eara0lPn0F03
I have the new 250e shooting brake. I love it apart from the steering wheel. The fact it’s all touch and no buttons is really irritating. Everything else I really like.
A massive well done to the presenter ... Such beautiful cars, A CLA coupe is just nuts, excellent car cool and yet aggresive...good choice for a young family, but sadly this car will cost you over £70K in Turkey, so if you are in Turkey for your summer holiday and you see one, then you know who is rich and very intelligent to buy this car, as for many is just wishful thinking, but may be one day...
Haha thank you! I’m the presenter! But also a one man band! I don’t have anyone else helping make the videos 😅 Yes definitely agree the CLA is a stunning car, I did consider one for myself but chose to go with A-Class instead from a cost perspective. You’ll get one one day! 🤓👍🏼
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! You got me worried! I always triple check everything before filming! But just checked them again. Mirror to Mirror for the width it’s 1,999mm / (1,834mm without mirrors) Mirror to Mirror for E-Class is 2,065mm / (1,852mm without the mirrors) According to Mercedes eBrochures on their website
I have a 2 year old CLA. As you say the re fresh is not too different. I’d be hard pushed to notice the difference from the outside. When my Premium model was delivered it was missing some features because of the Chip shortage at the time eg Augmented reality on Sat Nav. Do you know if this can now be retro fitted?. Love the channel Nick. Very professional and informative
Ah nice! Thanks for watching! And thanks for watching the other videos! No sadly manufacturers very rarely can retrofit anything unless it’s disclosed that it can be fitted afterward when ordering (usually via a recall). So no sadly I don’t believe you can for things like that.
Looking at the shooting brake as a company car doing around 800-1000 miles per week. How comfortable is the car on a longer drive. Appreciate they are quite sporty and firm.
Ah nice! Yes they’re very comfortable for long drives I have an A-Class with the same seats and have definitely done a 6 hour trip twice now No back ache or anything, just needed to stretch my legs as you’d expect! 😅 You ought to test drive one, just contact your local Mercedes and they can sort you a drive out with a product expert or something.
I bought the base model CLA in Ireland for €35k in 2021. The latest base facelifted model costs €60k here. Thats Mercedes adding in super inflation. Beautiful car but not worth €60k
One of the reasons why I cover multiple brands now on my channel. I love Mercedes for sure, but want to make sure that I cover brands that people might switch to as well.
Hi Nick - just taken delivery of new CLA 200 Premium Plus night edition vehicle and surprised to note no augmented reality on sat nav system. What spec to you have to go to where this is fitted. Love your excellent videos - John
Thanks John! Glad you enjoyed the video! Best to chat with Mercedes staff on that one as it depends on availability (when you ordered, what was stated in the brochure of the specs available at the time). Car manufacturers do update the specification throughout the year so best to chat to them directly.
i have the pre facelift CLA 220 4matic with 2L petrol. i was shocked to learn in this video that they completly abandoned the 2l engine for none amg petrol 😂
I notice that you seem to have a reasonable amount of space for your legs sitting in the rear seats. I sat in the new shooting brake yesterday and it appears to be the same as my A class for space. I am a bit shorter than you at 5ft 10” but when the front seat is set for my driving position it would be impossible for me to get into the rear seat, I can’t even get my legs in as the seat back is so close to the rear seat squab. For my driving position I could really do with the steering wheel extending out a bit more.
The steering wheel can adjust and come out, but if you need extra space there’s loads of other models with more space for rear passengers. In Mercedes, C-Class & E-Class are a good model to consider 🤓
Hi Nick just picked up a new CLA Coupe Prem Plus and it has a picture for Keyless Go comfort package to open the boot hands free. I’ve tried to find the sensor but had no luck finding it. Is the prem plus equipped with this?
I don’t think there’s a way of telling unless you just try it. Mercedes’s can probably load up their spec sheets for the car and check for you if you get in you get in touch with them. So when you have the key, gesture kick underneath the boot without hitting your leg on the car and if you have it, it should open.
How do the new seat "head level" cushions work? I have a neck issue and so on my 2020 build my partner and I swap the forward and backwards of the head restraint each time we change drivers. I hate the loss of the touch pad. As a spotify user I am always swiping right. This is an easy gesture. Going up to the screen would be bollocks.
Hi Nick, Thank you for that video. I'm curious about the real advantages of the micro-hybridation. Could you go deeper in details ? (benchmark in term of consumption, performances, when is it used/efficient). As well, I heard that the 4 cylinders could run on only 2 cylinders. In which condition ? How can you check that ?
Hey! Thanks for watching I cover a really good example on my 2000 mile review of my own car. Full tutorial on how it works: ua-cam.com/video/Sx2FtG094oc/v-deo.html Also Mild Hybrid vs Plug-in Hybrid might be useful too: ua-cam.com/video/U-Tsc3xpU0g/v-deo.html
Sadly at the time of recording there was no option for adaptable suspension. Mercedes brochures refer to it as “Comfort Suspension”. I’d describe it as comfortable as my own car which is an A-Class. I wouldn’t describe it as firm at all.
Hi ill be getting the new cla but im confused to get cla180 petrol or cla200 diesal. Which one is better? Whats the main difference? And fuel efficiency? I had a180d 5years back and i found it very slow and sluggish.
You ought to test drive both! As with all engines one will be better for you than the other. Modern diesels are very fast now so a CLA 200d is going to shave off at least a couple of seconds off compared to the A180d. It depends how many miles you’re going to and the initial cost price etc.
Hi Nick, been trying to find some pictures of the Spectral blue color on the CLA. I believe you are driving one at the end of the video. Any idea if there are any images available online of it?
Great video Nick - thanks. I have an eClass Estate, can you tell me how I can ensure the Tailgate stays up (when I want it to) e.g. when I’m sat on the back putting my boots on. It seems to have “a mind of its own” and closes down (on top of me) without any warning - Cheers - Peter.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! The tailgate will only close under certain scenarios. I would imagine these two are the most likely. 1) The boot button on the key is being pressed unintentionally as you’re leaning over (possibly with other things in pockets etc) 2) Or the other thing could be if you have the keys near the back of the car and your foot goes near / under the boot, if you have a feature called Hands Free Access, this will close the boot if it’s open. If you’re not sure give Mercedes a shout and they can let you know if you have it or not 🤓
@@npoleary - Thanks for that Nick, on reflection, yes - I think my foot probably went underneath without me realising it…. I find the “Foot Under” opening and closing feature a very helpful way of opening the tailgate…..as do my grandson’s, who take it in turns to open / close it for me…..even when it doesn’t need opening or closing !! :- )
Hi Nick, when I look at the Mercedes website they say that the plug in hybrid has 163hp + 109hp and combined 220hp I thought it was effectively 163+109hp= 272hp ;)
Not sure, sadly those were the ones which were available for the UK when I filmed this a few weeks ago. The A250 sadly has gone too, I used own one, it was amazing. The plug-in hybrid is still there though same performance! Might even be quicker! And then you have the potential of reduced running costs too!
Just replied on the other post you commented on: Ah a CLA 250e is a plug-in hybrid, so it needs to be plugged in to charge. Yes when you drive in certain scenarios and brake it’ll recoup some power but will never recharge the battery fully, it just tops it up in really small amounts. The whole idea of a plug-in hybrid is to not use fuel for local smaller journeys which the car could achieve on electric. But you then have the convenience of a petrol engine for longer drives or on the odd occasion you can’t plug in. You don’t have to plug-in to do those drives, but the more you do, the cheaper it will be for you because running a car per mile is far cheaper on electric.
I have the new facelift CLA; mines the Sport Executive package. Noticeably absent is the ambient light and the wireless charging but for £4000 less I can live with it. It does have the wireless Apple carplay. However, I’m yet to find out why something about the AMG body seems to look more attractive. I wondered if you could do a comparison with the AMG body kit package.
Ah nice! Sadly specs vary massively round the world and I only have access to cars here where I live in the UK. Sport doesn’t exist here so not sure what it would even look like
Hello. I'm thinking about buying the Xiaomi 13 Pro which has a 6.73 inch (17 centimeter) screen. Can you tell me if it will fit in the loading space of the Mercedes GLA? Space for wireless charging. Thanks
Sadly not seen the GLA facelift just yet, but hopefully soon! However, it’ll be the same size as the other compact cars that Mercedes have like the A-Class. I have an A-Class with the same charging spot (wireless charging) with an iPhone 15 Pro Max. This has a 6.7” display and I have a case and it fits fine.
hi. could you do a review of the facelift version of the CLA45S once its available? im seriously considering buying one but there is just zero existence of any videos on the facelifted CLA45S.
Would love to if I can get my hands on one I mean this video might help in the meantime: ua-cam.com/video/VGRJNB4-CYs/v-deo.htmlsi=mrJdK1AhnjNjgEF0 Scroll to 6min ish and I take the A 45 S out (same engine) 🤓 It’s fast. Very fast 😅
The plug-in Hybrids (CLA250e) doesn't give you a 109hp on top of the 163hp (petrol engine). When the engine is used in conjunction with the battery the total output is 218hp. When it is in electric mode only the output is 109hp, when using the engine only it is 163hp.
Yes that’s right 🤓 don’t think hybrid gearboxes would be able to cope with all of it! 😅 But when used separately they’ll output up to their max values.
Can you please show du how to take the black cover off the Mercedes me app. We have a black cover over our Mercedes car in the Mercedes me app and we dont know how we can take it off. Could you help is?
I saw your message on the other videos too, don't worry I read and try to reply to all of them on my channel. Or you can email me too "contact@npo-media.co.uk". This is what I said on the other one: Oh once all of the Mercedes me services / digital extras are switched on, it disappears after a couple of days. That’s what it did for my car anyway when I bought it.
What is loading length with the back seat folded in CLA S.B in cm if it is 180cm or 200cm with front passenger seat all the way up to the front for maximum space it is very good. Also does the floor get flat when back seat is folded down. CLA S.B is obviously not a transportation car but maybe a option when you want something smaller without going up to C or E classes and still want to have some loading capacity in a more aerodynamic lighter car that is more easy to handle in narrow city streets and comparable with A class.
Sadly that wasn’t something I measured when I was at my local dealer filming them but they do have quite a few dimensions on their eBrochures if that helps. tools.mercedes-benz.co.uk/current/passenger-cars/e-brochures/cla-SR0423.pdf?_gl=1*1yw1zyp*_ga*MjA5Njg3Njk0Mi4xNzE4MzQ1NDI1*_ga_38LJSJTYP4*MTcxODg2NjEyOS4yLjAuMTcxODg2NjEzMy4wLjAuMTcxMzczMjExOA..*_fplc*SXpQWWMySkNabUxiJTJCTEVVVnVjazlFMnc4QXRUdEFsMHdRamglMkJkSWJRS3hqT1d3Z0xSQzVveml0RXBDUXBpdCUyRm0yejZXS1Y4Yk8lMkZ6emVYOVJQYldjNXFlVSUyRjhlbDlOVmNLN1lDaCUyRnI5elQlMkZCZmolMkJINFNCdzltMUs4MG0xUSUzRCUzRA.. Seats don’t fold completely flat as it’s not classed officially as an estate as it also has a boot lip. But still a lot more practical compared to an A-Class or CLA Coupe for example.
@@npoleary Thanks for the link to the product catalog. According to page 71 the maximum loading length for CLA S.B should be approximately 170-180cm in the lower part of the booth up to the booth lip. With front seat passenger seat folded in upmost forward position you get (20cm )extra space. Maximum volume is 1310 litres with back seat folded down and largest cuboid possible to fit is 1397x639x532mm -475-liter.
I ordered a CLA 220 4matic with all features which arrives in April. I now think of asking the dealership to switch to the C class 180 with the same features because it is equally expensive. I am not sure what to do because a lot of my friends said that the CLA built quality is so much worse and that I should switch to the C 180. Does anyone know one thing or two about this?
Build Quality is a term used so much these days but honestly I don’t think anyone makes a mad car anymore. If you yourself are happy with the CLA, then it’ll be just fine 🤓 It depends on each persons viewpoint, I am more than happy with my A-Class which would be the same build quality as a CLA. But some would prefer some higher quality materials, this is why the A-Class and CLA are the entry levels cars in Mercedes. I’m not putting them down by any means, I love my car but there is a difference when you start venturing up the range from Premium Cars to Ultra Luxury 😎 Depends what you like from a car 🤓
Possibly, it is quite practical! Guess it depends on their exact size but Mercedes do have the dimensions and litres in their brochures. I often refer to them before producing a video to make sure facts are accurate!
hI Nick Do you have a petrol or diesel A class? I have noticed that in Mercedes sport executive CLA 200, the numbers of miles left goes down by a few miles when in stop and go traffic. Have you noticed this on your Mercedes?
Petrol 🤓 Yeah that happens in every car, that’s the worst driving for MPG and range for a car. Lots of start / stops with minimal time moving, you’ll use more fuel (apart from when the engine is off of course) But open it up on faster roads it’ll creep back up again. I see it every week when I do a long trip!
Hey Nick. Sorry but can you answer some questions? Like I am living in the UK (NI) and it's not the first time my current car is for service or something at the Mercedes in belfast. Last time (2 weeks ago) I had it in and got a courtesy car and they told me its a brans new one... It seemed so... so a C-Class saloon with only 17!!! miles on it. But it was the "old" command system and the same controls I have on my 2016 C-Class estate... Why is that happening. why is Mercedes selling "old" styled cars here in the UK ?
So the new C-Class style is one with the portrait screen in the middle. Same as the one with my review here from last year: ua-cam.com/video/TJV6q11tqeI/v-deo.htmlsi=qaVOtDzzyPi7GEJW If it was a different one then I wouldn’t have any idea, you’ll have to ask them! 😅
@@npoleary I know what you mean. And I asked. And they had no answer at all. It just confused me for 2 years the MBUX is standard. And that brand new car had just the old command
@@npoleary any chance I can send a pic or so? Belfast is strange. The only Mercedes garage here in the “country” cause more issues every time when I have my car in for a service. Thank hod I have a service plan and extended warranty.
I’m a big mercedes fan, but I think the back side of the CLA shooting brake is just awful. Then again, I just don’t understand shooting brake models in general. Would take the regular CLA over the shooting brake any day of the week.
Ah well a Shooting Brake is like a Coupe / Stylish Estate. But not officially an Estate. It for people who want an estate but don’t like the traditional box at the rear typical of estate shaped cars.
@@npoleary Thanks Nick! I can see why some would choose it. Personally I feel it makes the back look a bit “fat”, but to each their own. Very happy with my 2023 A class hatchback though! Your videos really helped me in the purchase of it.
Possibly Mild Hybrid tech in the boot? I don’t know for sure but just guessing. It might eat into the space underneath the floor that’s why there’s not really any space for storage in there. On the top it looks exactly the same though so for dogs / prams / luggage cases / shopping etc, shouldn’t impact the experience at all. But the car is more livelier and saves fuel!
@@npoleary Thanks for replied. I would have guessed the same reasons. One for the 48v battery or maybe an increase space in back passenger seats. But seems like the back seats leg space is the same according to your video. 😆
Don’t know the weight of the batteries themselves but Petrols are approx 1,505kg Diesels are approx 1,610kg Plug-in hybrid is approx 1,740kg According to Mercedes tech specs in their brochures 🤓

Hey @Professor-Jack, I’m sure you mentioned it was your birthday today so Happy Birthday! 🙏🥳🎁 Thank you so much for watching videos all this time, it means the world to me! Hope you have a good day! 👍🏼 All the best 👊🏼 Nick
I'm slightly confused as to why my pre facelift CLA is called the 250e but appears to have been renamed as the 200, same petrol engine size, performance and hybrid. Obviously i might be getting this wrong. I've never gotten more than low 20s range on the battery albeit even when the display shows it's empty the car still moves under battery power when reversing and driving at low speeds. Either way I wish the mild hybrid technology had been available to me (company car purchase) because it takes 1 hour 45 charging on a Fastned "fast charger" , 7.4kwh, to get that range. Not a great use of time. Personally I won't miss the touchpad, no matter how I set it I always find it too sensitive, inaccurate and also distracting when driving. Everything i need can be done using the screen or the steering wheel buttons or the Hey Mercedes voice commands, a fine water spray on a microfibre cloth once every now and then brings the screen, and gloss black interior trim, back as good as new. It would have made sense to swap the centre console Volume and Dynamic buttons to put the Dynamic closer to the driver and the Volume closer to the front seat passenger. Finally, i only just discovered that the rear seats in the Coupe can be folded down! Now that i know where the release catches are it's obvious but until i found them I thought I was heading for a £40 delivery fee from Ikea 😂
Oh haha glad you found the seat folding down levers! They are quite useful! Just to confirm as you referenced 2 models of CLA at the start. For new cars, the CLA 200 is a mild hybrid. This is a small electric motor that only assists the engine with no “All-Electric” driving. All Electric driving is for a plug-in hybrid which is the CLA 250e. As it’s a plug-in hybrid it literally needs to be plugged in to drive on electric. Not a bad thing as it can be cheaper to drive on electric than fuel. This is of course for the UK, unless it’s different elsewhere (sorry it’s impossible to tell where everyone is based on UA-cam comments). For plug-in hybrid range, it can go up to 43-44 miles but as winter is coming this would be almost impossible at this time of year due to the cold weather. Use of heating, stop / start traffic in a town would reduce the range so it depends where you drive. If you’re ever going to test the range, aim for 23°C ambient temp, and aim for speeds of 40mph & 60mph 👍🏼
My CLA35 is probably my last Mercedes for a while. It's three years old and the panoramic sunroof stopped working (not like I used it much before). It won't respond either by COMAND voice control or by the switch in the switch cluster on the roof. The driver's door lock actuator is also playing up and won't drop the window when the door is opened and/or the COMAND (radio) won't stop working until the car's computer has worked out the driver's door is opened. 24-month warranty is just BS!!
Hey, I already have on my UA-cam Channel: www.youtube.com/@npoleary/search?query=Multibeam I believe they’re available as an option, so double check with Mercedes for the specification etc 🤓
The new facelift feels cheaper and less luxury with all the things they took out from the middle console area. Also the ambient color choices are terrible
Ambient has the same colour choices as before? 64 colours with preset themes. Admittedly I noticed the themes were adjusted slightly but the individual colours are exactly the same. And they also only removed the touchpad and surrounding buttons. No other design or choice of materials have changed in the car.
Love the roomy interior of the shooting brake but hideous rear styling is atrocious. It’s just so horrible. The new GLC is far more agreeable to the eye.
Don’t worry I’ve heard this many times before but rest assured the entry level engines in the compact car range are not just "Renault engines", Mercedes and Renault have combined their efforts together to produce a very highly economical, low emission and powerful engine. It’s common for some manufacturers to share designs with each other. Others include Mini Peugeot sharing their engines, Volvo and Noble, Mercedes S-Class & Pagani Zonda and many others too. For the engine you’re talking about, Mercedes also put their own tech and spin into it and designed Formula One technology such as Nanoslide and even cylinder shut-off called CAMTRONIC allowing the cylinders to go down to 2! None of this is found in the Renault’s engines so no, they are definitely not the same at all. Even the new variants feature mild hybrid technology which also is not found on Renault models. Hope that answers your question!
@@npoleary thanks Nick, I get it but it doesn’t make it right. I’ve had loads of Mercs. And I have to say the older ones would never have had Renault engines. E.g. a W124!
@@npoleary they rather leave it blank than making faking it, remember C Class W203 (except Sportpack) it was well covered from the back and the exhaust were hidden that was awesome

Ken
Ah thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yes will be interesting to see the CLE when it comes out!

Ah very nice! 👌🏼
Nice explanation 👍
CLA AMG line specification says they are having Lowered Comfort Suspension. What does that mean, compared to A class do you feel more vibration when driving on bumpy road? And do you know how does it impact the rear passengers
Thank you! 🙏
All of the compact models I’ve noticed have that name, it’s probably just a way of explaining that it’s the comfier one compared to the AMG models like the A 35 and A 45 S.
The whole suspension on the car is great, no complaints on that one 🤓
Thanks for sharing.
Please review AMG 35 or 45s,I orderd 35 in August. Can't wait!

Very Nice Nick & Well Priced 👌👌
I have the new 250e shooting brake. I love it apart from the steering wheel. The fact it’s all touch and no buttons is really irritating. Everything else I really like.
What i like to know are the the back light also on while driving ? Now the are only on when its getting dark
I don’t have anyone else helping make the videos 😅
Yes definitely agree the CLA is a stunning car, I did consider one for myself but chose to go with A-Class instead from a cost perspective.
You’ll get one one day! 🤓👍🏼
Great review as always, Nick. But the width of the CLA is 1830 mm, not 1999 mm as mentioned. (that would make it 140 mm wider than the E class)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
You got me worried! I always triple check everything before filming! But just checked them again.
Mirror to Mirror for the width it’s 1,999mm / (1,834mm without mirrors)
Mirror to Mirror for E-Class is 2,065mm / (1,852mm without the mirrors)
According to Mercedes eBrochures on their website
Thanks for sharing Bro Leary 😊
Haha Bro Leary 😅
Glad you enjoyed it!
What i notice is when you have a sunroof you get more headroom 🎉 also in the back
I have a 2 year old CLA.
Ah nice! Yes they’re very comfortable for long drives
I have an A-Class with the same seats and have definitely done a 6 hour trip twice now
No back ache or anything, just needed to stretch my legs as you’d expect! 😅
You ought to test drive one, just contact your local Mercedes and they can sort you a drive out with a product expert or something.
@@npoleary Thank you Nick, appreciate your speedy reply
No worries! 🤓
THANX Nick
No worries! 🤓
i have the pre facelift CLA 220 4matic with 2L petrol. i was shocked to learn in this video that they completly abandoned the 2l engine for none amg petrol 😂
Thanks
Thank you so much! 😇😇
Hello Nick nice review ,are based in USA or UK ..sorry to ask if it will bother you.😊
No not at all 😜
In the UK 🤓
Hope this comes to canada! would really like to trade in my a250 for this
How do the new seat "head level" cushions work? I have a neck issue and so on my 2020 build my partner and I swap the forward and backwards of the head restraint each time we change drivers.
I hate the loss of the touch pad. As a spotify user I am always swiping right. This is an easy gesture. Going up to the screen would be bollocks.
You can still operate it from the steering wheel, the main screen, and simply by saying “Next Track” without even need to say Hey Mercedes
Hi Nick,
Thank you for that video.
Full tutorial on how it works: ua-cam.com/video/Sx2FtG094oc/v-deo.html
Also Mild Hybrid vs Plug-in Hybrid might be useful too: ua-cam.com/video/U-Tsc3xpU0g/v-deo.html
Hi Nick, not a single word about suspension. How comfortable is fixed sport suspension - if we want to save some mony not buying adaptive one
Coupe for me thank you
Nice! I would too! (If I didn’t have a dog haha)
Coupe looks very smart! 🙏
Hi Nick, been trying to find some pictures of the Spectral blue color on the CLA. I believe you are driving one at the end of the video. Any idea if there are any images available online of it?
Yeah defo! On my Instagram 🤓

1) The boot button on the key is being pressed unintentionally as you’re leaning over (possibly with other things in pockets etc)
2) Or the other thing could be if you have the keys near the back of the car and your foot goes near / under the boot, if you have a feature called Hands Free Access, this will close the boot if it’s open.
Aha
Yes maybe! Well hopefully that’s it anyway!
Hi Nick, when I look at the Mercedes website they say that the plug in hybrid has 163hp + 109hp and combined 220hp I thought it was effectively 163+109hp= 272hp ;)
No sadly it doesn't quite work like that combined will be slightly less. Otherwise that would be a lot of power going through one axle! 😅
I bought a CLA 250 shooting brake last year - just wondering why this engine size is no longer on offer? Thanks for the video.
The CLA 250 still exists in Germany for example. Maybe Mercedes only removed it for some countries.
MB has been demoted to quality liberated bling-bling budget status cars
Hi Nick, What are the bootspaces for the CLA250e coupé and shooting brake?
According to their brochures for the plug-in hybrids
395L for the Coupe
445L for the Shooting Brake
Is there a video to show how to charge battery whilst driving cant figure it out i have a CLA 250e AMG Line Executive 5dr Tip Auto
Just replied on the other post you commented on:
Ah a CLA 250e is a plug-in hybrid, so it needs to be plugged in to charge.
Would love to if I can get my hands on one
I mean this video might help in the meantime: ua-cam.com/video/VGRJNB4-CYs/v-deo.htmlsi=mrJdK1AhnjNjgEF0
Scroll to 6min ish and I take the A 45 S out (same engine) 🤓
It’s fast.
But when used separately they’ll output up to their max values.
If you yourself are happy with the CLA, then it’ll be just fine 🤓
It depends on each persons viewpoint, I am more than happy with my A-Class which would be the same build quality as a CLA. But some would prefer some higher quality materials, this is why the A-Class and CLA are the entry levels cars in Mercedes. I’m not putting them down by any means, I love my car but there is a difference when you start venturing up the range from Premium Cars to Ultra Luxury 😎
Depends what you like from a car 🤓
In the shooting brake cla would you get four large suitcase in the boot.
Possibly, it is quite practical! Guess it depends on their exact size but Mercedes do have the dimensions and litres in their brochures.
I often refer to them before producing a video to make sure facts are accurate!
hI Nick
Do you have a petrol or diesel A class? I have noticed that in Mercedes sport executive CLA 200, the numbers of miles left goes down by a few miles when in stop and go traffic. Have you noticed this on your Mercedes?
Petrol 🤓
Yeah that happens in every car, that’s the worst driving for MPG and range for a car. Lots of start / stops with minimal time moving, you’ll use more fuel (apart from when the engine is off of course)
But open it up on faster roads it’ll creep back up again.
I see it every week when I do a long trip!
So @@npoleary nothing particularly wrong with my CLA then?😄
Not at all 🤓
In stead of showing us the sterring weel and screen you have the camera pointed at yourself while sitting behind the steering weel?
Same as the one with my review here from last year: ua-cam.com/video/TJV6q11tqeI/v-deo.htmlsi=qaVOtDzzyPi7GEJW
If it was a different one then I wouldn’t have any idea, you’ll have to ask them! 😅
@@npoleary I know what you mean. And I asked. And they had no answer at all. It just confused me for 2 years the MBUX is standard. And that brand new car had just the old command
Hmmm strange, maybe they were just saving it for old times sake 🤓
@@npoleary any chance I can send a pic or so?
Belfast is strange. The only Mercedes garage here in the “country” cause more issues every time when I have my car in for a service. Thank hod I have a service plan and extended warranty.
You can email me “contact@npo-media.co.uk”
Ah awesome thank you! Glad you’ve been enjoying them! 🤓
Any ideas why the facelift shooting brake boot space has decreased from 505L to 485L? 😮
What's the weight penalty of the hybrid batteries.
Don’t know the weight of the batteries themselves but
Petrols are approx 1,505kg
Diesels are approx 1,610kg
Plug-in hybrid is approx 1,740kg
According to Mercedes tech specs in their brochures 🤓
Hello Mr O. Shooting Brake! till your brilliant video i wood have no clue what car that was strange name for a car
Thanks Professor-Jack! Glad you enjoyed it!🙏

What's the black beast in the background, looks more interesting than the Cla.
Think it was a Mercedes-AMG GT (plug-in hybrid, designed to make it go faster)
Looks like it from the light design anyway 🤓
I miss the leather seats and the touchpad 😢
Nice!!!
Thanks for watching delorespico 🤓
Hope you’re feeling a bit better! 🙏
@@npoleary not yet soon I hope 🦅🦅🦅😂
Would rather have a Used C class or used C class estate
Has a flat boot with no load lip so definitely quite useful! 🤓
Coupe looks much cooler and sportier. The shooting brake is just versatile in usage, but does not look cooler or more luxurious at all.
Oh how strange, have you spoken to Mercedes? They have technicians who’ll be able to check it out for you
They have different ground clearance.

Hi nick plzz can you plzz explain new CLA FACLITF about the headloght . Cla plue difrent lights .
Hey, I already have on my UA-cam Channel: www.youtube.com/@npoleary/search?query=Multibeam
I believe they’re available as an option, so double check with Mercedes for the specification etc 🤓
MB still badging Renault engines as Mercs…
