@@laurajones5784 I think with time we'll get there. I think we've reached that point somewhat inside of Israel, as most of the younger generation that I know define themselves as Israeli. Hoping we will reach it with our neighbors, too.
For what it's worth, though, as part of my work, I got to meet a lot of Arabs from abroad. Many seem flat out ignorant about how things are in Israel, and do change their mind when they see that it's not all bad here.

I’m an American who was volunteering in Israel during the attacks. I’ve never seen people come together for one another more so than I did the day after the attacks. It’s as if the whole country was called to action, everyone felt it.

Yes, everyone felt it, because Israel is such a small country with a small population, so in such a massive terror attack everyone knew personally someone who was murdered/kidnnaped/wounded/escaped. For me, 2 of my cousins survived the music festival, one of them got wounded.
As a Ukrainian I understand this feeling of unity and solidarity in the face of enemy. Sending all love and support for Israel citizens. Also I want to say that the forces who support Hamas are the same who are responsible for deaths of Ukrainians.

The most optimistic picture of the Jewish people I've seen. It warmed my heart. I stand with Israel and all it's people.
I am a proud Jew with family in the US, Israel, the UK, and Latvia. And I can tell you this makes total sense. Our grandparents and great grandparents were slaughtered like animals. 6 million were murdered in less than 10 years. But what happened? We worked, we fought, we trained and we educated ourselves to the highest standards we could. We are the most hated, most powerful, most resilient minority group of people on this earth. We have been blamed for plagues, for Jesus, for Gaza, for everything one can imagine. Yet here we are. Stronger than before, as always.

In September 1997, Israeli agents in Jordan attempted but failed to kill Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal. In a bid to release Mossad agents captured by the Jordanian authority after the failed assassination attempt, King Hussein secured a deal with Israel to swap Yassin with Mossad agents. Two years later Hamas was banned in Jordan, reportedly in part at the request of the United States, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority. Jordan's King Abdullah feared the activities of Hamas and its Jordanian allies would jeopardize peace negotiations with Israel, and accused Hamas of engaging in illegitimate activities within Jordan. In mid-September 1999, authorities arrested Hamas leaders Khaled Mashaal and Ibrahim Ghosheh on their return from a visit to Iran, and charged them with being members of an illegal organization, storing weapons, conducting military exercises, and using Jordan as a training base. Hamas leaders denied the charges. Mashaal was exiled and eventually settled in Syria.
These events tells you that the actual organization of Hamas has already been dismantled in the late 1990's and early 2000's, and that the current Hamas they are mentioning is a false narrative.
In April 2005, an advisor of Benjamin Netanyahu, a principal right-wing opponent of Ariel Sharon, secretly negotiated with a Hamas representative, according to the Le Canard enchaîné. The meeting was about the "possibility of an administrative co-gestion with the Hamas in the occupied territories", which is already the case in some Hamas-controlled cities of the West Bank, according to the French newspaper, which continued: "But, in both sides, participants to such a dialogue keeps their mouth shut (bouche cousue). It is impossible to admit that one has met and negotiated with his sworn enemy."
On October 8, 2023, Tal Schneider claimed in an op-ed article in The Times of Israel that Netanyahu's policy for years had been to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state by treating Hamas as a partner at the expense of Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian Authority and its West Bank government, resulting in "wounds that would take Israel years to heal from". For years, she wrote, Netanyahu divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, bringing Abbas to his knees while propping up Hamas. One method she described was collaborating with Hamas to increase the number of Israeli work permits granted to Gazan laborers, from approximately 2,000-3,000 work permits in 2021 to 20,000 after Netanyahu's return to power in 2023. She also wrote that "While Netanyahu does not make these kind of statements publicly or officially, his words are in line with the policy that he implemented."
Avner Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked for more than two decades for the Israeli government's religious affairs department in Gaza, as saying "Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation" and that Israel had "encouraged them as a counterweight to ... I’m an Israeli and have been, sadly, an inseparable part of this tragedy since the beginning, much like every citizen here. You didn’t say anything that I wasn’t aware of, didn’t even show many videos I haven’t seen-and yet from the first minute, I couldn’t look away, and I sat here with tears in my eyes and goosebumps rushing over my skin.
I love my country. I’ve always loved my country. But there’s something especially beautiful and uplifting about seeing a video like this when we’re all feeling so broken.

@@JAWIID I completely agree. Completely. I ACHE for the horrors the Palestinians and Gazans in particular go through. Since I was old enough to understand the meaning, I’ve fought for equality and to this day still believe in a two state solution and that the vast majority of Palestinians hope and wish for peace. I have to believe that, or I worry I might lose hope in this place.
What I refuse to accept is how the world remains blind to the true underlying issue of this, and that is the hate and fundamental belief that Israel should not exist that resonates through the Arab extremists. There’s a FALSE narrative that its mere oppressor oppressed, but the way I know it to be true, is that its defender and attacker. You cannot make peace with those who wish for nothing more than your annihilation. You cannot make peace with those who torture and murder and FAIL their supposed own people at every turn.
If you think the fault for the Palestinian suffering lies with Israel, then you simply do not see or listen to the truth we’ve been screaming for decades.

What an amazing, comprehensive video. Brought tears to my eyes. I'm watching it twice, at least. I just don't understand the Palestinian hate. Seems to me most of the things they object to ("occupied" areas, security wall, checkpoints, Gaza restrictions, etc.) resulted from Arab-initiated wars and terror attacks against Israel. What does the world expect Israel to do? The present Israel criticisms and calls for a cease-fire seem hypocritical to me. The Palestinians have been offered their own state on multiple occasions (over 95% of what they wanted under PM Olmert), yet they walked away. They don't want a state; they only want to annihilate Israel and the Jews. May God continue to protect and bless Israel.
