No, it didn't. What it proved is that technology has to be backed up by robust rules of engagement. Saying your helicopters can't fire at armed men coming through the holes they've blasted in a fence unless you have confirming ground observers to sign off on a kinetic response is not that.
According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, aid to Palestinians totaled over $40 billion between 1994 and 2020. No other country has anything like the UNRWA, which has enabled the ridiculous concept of passing down refugee status across generations to settled Palestinians and calling entire 50 year old neighbourhoods refugee camps. Hamas leaders are billionaires and have zero regard for Gazan lives.@@SungazerDNB
@MsBhappy you could give a billion dollars to inmates in a prison, nothing they could buy will change that they are fundamentally trapped and oppressed. Hamas and their acts are unforgivable, but it is not hard to see why it happened and how they were able to recruit so many Palestinians to their cause
@@maxanderson8872 The claim MsBhappy refuted was that the Gazans were "forsaken", not that Arab desire to kill Jews are incomprehensible. Nor is a Jewish impulse to exterminate Gaza incomprehensible. What's your point?
It is sad that Oct 7th happened and NO ONE in the US were in the streets protesting but as soon as Israel struck back, total outrage from people who have NO IDEA what they are talking about. I stand with Israel.
People/HAMAS appeasers were out on the streets protesting against Israel on 8th October, that was even before Israel had cleanest its streets of the HAMAS terrorists.
Basically, the fence upheld the job it was designed to do. The “failure” was the underestimation of the threat, which would’ve necessitated a more durable design of the fence.
Hamas 2018-19 Border Demonstrations Gave Them The Political Capitol To Upgrade The Anti-Terror Fence Line Into A True Wall With Hesco Bastions & Anti-Climb Mesh! They spent millions of dollars digging up land & moving it around at published demonstration points but blew off building a permanent Hesco Bastion Wall with Anti-Climb Mesh.
Basically, the barrier held, what was not anticipated-and should have been- was the proven persistence and willful determination of the resistance- as these freedom fighters are called. What are they resisting but oppression and capricious domination wrapped in the cloak of colonialism
@@williamdempsey-tf6zu It took them minutes to cut through the fence line & cement walls, Full Stop! If they'd have run a triple layer of Hesco Bastions filled with sand, rocks & debris it would have taken far longer & cost far less. They could not have feasible done a worse job! That the IDF Soldiers & Kibbutz's were refused fire arms of any kind was ignorant arrogance! Ever single man, women & teen should on the Kibbutz's & IDF Base have had smg or carbine
No the failure was that at the time that Hamas attacked almost all the IDF forces that guard the wall were pulled back in to the West Bank and were in the West Bank terrorizing the Palestine there. Hamas never expected their attack to be so successful. They expected the moment they broke through the fences to be met with heavy resistance. Instead they realize they were free to do whatever they wanted. What solider were still left behind were not even alert when the attacked happen. Many of the Israeli soldiers were killed before they could even get to a weapon. If I was Israel and I had just pulled my entire military force to another area leaving barely any one on the boarder of Gaza and Israel. I would make sure what soldiers were left would be on high alert and weapon in hand. Of course I would never have pulled my entire military force away from a boarder that held an enemy that would see to destroy me.
Frontline is no joke!! They'll report on stories that ABC, CNN, FOX, NBC or CBS won't report on. This is what I call fair and balanced reporting. Keep up the good work!
Yes mostly..until they succumb to pressure and start censoring their producers/ directors as they did with their documentary called Netanyahu, America & the War in Gaza -- a few days after release, it got pulled. Unfortunate shameful act by PBS management
@@ahappyyotubeuser9851The question goes much deeper then that. Why are the Palestine denied basic human rights and dignity for 56+ years. Why is Israel allowed to brutalize and oppress the Palestine people. If you really listen to Palestine what they are asking for is very simplistic. They want the right to return to their lands and homes. But more importantly they want to be treated with basic human rights and dignity. The reason Hamas was born and exist in the first place is because of Israel brutality and oppression. That is what has lead to this escalation of violence. People want to talk about about all the atrocities Hamas does but ignores the atrocities Israel commits. Did you know in 2023 IDF killed 492 Palestine in West Bank. Those deaths never made a ripple. No one cares about the Palestine no one cares if their basic human rights and dignity are stripped from them. No one is willing to stand up to Israel and say no this is wrong. Hamas is the only one. Hamas made sure on Oct 7th that the Palestine people plight is no longer ignored. They filled the void that the world refused to fill. Which is standing up for what's right. Here a little unknown fact that many of you are ignoring. The security Fence and wall around Gaza isn't just monitored by cameras most of the time. The vast majority of IDF military usually guards that security wall around Gaza. However on Oct 7th the bulk of the IDF was pulled back to the West Bank. They were harassing and terrorizing Palestine there. When Hamas broke through the fence they expected to meet heavy resistance. Most expected to be killed attacking the military instalations. However because IDF was pulled back to West Bank. Hamas uttler annihilated those military instalations. The few IDF soldiers at those instalations were caught completely off guard and were slaughtered. They didn't even have chance to get to vehicles or to weapons. The attack was so devastating that it is complete and utter embarrassment to Israel and the IDF. Hamas was not expecting to take these military instalations. They expected to be forced to retreat or be killed in the process. Once they took the instalations there was no plan for what to do next. So they pushed further in to Israel reeking havoc and dearh with no goal or purpose really. There was also no real leadership going on. It was just a free for all. This is why Oct 7th happen the way it did and why it was so bad. I don't think Hamas intended for things to go as far as it did becauae they were banking on there to be heavy resistance. The attack showed not only failure on Israel part but also how Hamas lacks any kind real command structure.
@@michaelrunk5930 Is that why they've denied every peace regarding a two state solution so many times over the past 70 years? How about all the peaceful Gazans who cross the border to work or the ones who live peacefully in Israel.
Well, look at Gaza. It was a beautiful area, on the beach, perfect for growing crops, fishing, etc., it could be a beautiful place - except it was filled with the equivalent of crackheads. Hence, it looks like the love child of a dump and a toxic waste site.
Can you imagine how many more thousands of israelis would have died if there wasn't that wall there to lessen the amount of terrorists and slow hamas' advance? This documentary seems like anti border wall propaganda , but it's actually self evident why we need to FINISH our Southern border wall 🧱🧱🧱

The guy at 17:20 is telling the truth, the fence wasn't meant to stop an organized assault, it was for deterring small raids. The Great Wall of China and Hadrian's Wall had the same limitations.
Yes because normally the boarder between Gaza and Israel is heavily guarded by the IDF. The day of the attack IDF or the bulk of it was pulled back in to the West Bank were they were terrorizing and brutalizing the Palestine people. What few IDF soldiers were left behind were not even on alert (which you would think they would be on high alert given the circumstance.) none of the soldiers had a chance to even put up a fight because they were killed before they could even get to their weapons or vehicles and tanks and what not. I don't know about you but if I was Netanyahu and I was pulling the bulk of my military force from the boarder then I would instruct the soldiers left guarding to be on high alert and stand guard ready for anything. Not sleeping in their bunks. Yes almost all the soldiers were killed in their bunks.
You give your enemy years to map out your defensives and underestimate their willingness to kill you and die in the attack. You will fail 100% of the time.
@jakobaa9031 do you think hamas's rhetoric and goals were different when gaza was given to them? They wanted to do this massacre before israel even started blockading and closing gaza off.
@@milckshakebeans8356 No I dont. Do you remember when Israel called Hamas an 'asset'? Or remember that Israel has allowed suitcases filled with cash to be delivered to Hamas for YEARS?
@@jakobaa9031 First this has nothing to do with your previous point so I guess you conceded that one. Do you think that if Israel invaded Gaza then it would've been better for the palestinians? I think that looking back Israel shouldn't have underestimated hamas's willingness for murder. But I bet that if Israel had done anything to prevent this from happening the entire world including you would condemn them. Israel had done everything it could to make peace with the palestinians in gaza and that was to a fault unfortunately.
Yet they did not mention the "Mass Hannibal" order of the Hannibal doctrine, the fact that so many of their people were killed by their own helicopters and tanks PER ORDERS.
What provokes these ungodly attacks? Maybe the oppression of humans for decades, walling people in, depriving them of basic human rights and necessities, of dignity, of clean and ample water, of voting rights, of freedom, of prosperity, of hope , and mainly depriving them of possibility brings this on. Who else on earth needs this kind of "protection" from their neighbors and why? Israel provokes these attacks every day of the Gazan's lives. What goes around comes around. This will NEVER END until Gazans are granted equal and human rights. And this is not a "war". This is a slaughter of civilians, 70% of whom are women and children , using unguided bombs and eventual starvation and infectious diseases - all violations of the Geneva convention.
They showed the Israeli justification for this "war" and barely glanced at the reality of what's going on in Gaza. If you're upset by the killing and tragedy presented in this video, how do you react to it's magnification by many thousands? The heartless slaughter in Gaza is genocide, carried out with unimaginable ferocity and cruelty. Denying food and water to two million people is, all by itself, a war crime, a deliberate attempt at mass murder calling for immediate rescue and the arrest of those responsible. But Israel is doing far more, far worse and, yet, The United States is shielding Israel from the consequences it has earned. Instead, it helps Israel paint itself as the victim. That is the reality.
I never knew any of this. I knew about the wall but never knew they have to go to this of a sophisticated extent to keep these people back. An yet, yet it still failed. Unbelievable. An they will either try or do it again. I seen the tunnel video. The engineer involved. They were all in on it.
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold. Faith alone defends." ~ Helen Keller. Having been in the policing and security industry most of my life, this has always been my go-to.
Yeah don’t use that oven mitt, just grab the pan with faith cause there is no security in nature. Sorry but that quote is a jumbled rambling that isn’t grounded in reality. To take a failure and extend it to the idea that defense doesn’t work begs idiocy.
Compare apples with apples, conflict is not home baking. Safety is purely perception. We can make ourselves feel safe and secure, but are we guaranteed that? No, we can only mitigate.

The general of the IDF and other intelligence heads were warned about activities on the boarder. They were informed in the evening and replied that they will look into it in the morning. Well morning came and this happened. It was not an intelligence failure. It was human recklessness.
It was much more complicated than what you explained. The head of Shin Bet was all night awake because there was a warning from Gaza. There wasn't enough warning
@@leon19736 I understand that it was also a holiday but they should have deployed troops. Anyway I know that most of the terrorists were already inside Israel. They attacked the kibbutzim in the morning but the army bases were fighting them all night long.
Not reckleness, they allowed Hamas to make that entry and slaughter to have major excuse for final elimination of Palestine "problem". Visible from the plane.
@@nienie68 No, they weren't. They entered at 06:29, under the cover.of the massive rocket barrage they started at that point. They had been training along the fence for months, though. And collecting info for decades likely.
One thing that seems really weak about all these remote controlled guns is how much of an obvious target they are. They're static, their position is easy to see and target from anywhere, and the enemy knows exactly where these all these guns are months in advance. Seems pretty naive to expect they wouldn't be taken out early in a fight.
The problem was, they never thought that they would get attacked like that. Even the guy from the fence authority was saying it wasn’t built to withheld an army.
My understanding of the Bar Lev line is that it was a military installation. The wall was also staffed by members of the IDF. At 16:51 Dr. Dany Tirza stated that the wall was not meant to sustain a military attack. Therefore, the wall's purpose was to detain a stateless population indefinitely. Maybe it's time to admit that Zionism is wrong. It's too bad Israel is a failed apartheid state and it's too bad the IDF is committing an ethnic cleansing in 2023.
they couldn't rely on the wall, they were busy harassing Palestinians at the West Bank while Hamas invaded. there were calls from eyewitnesses near Gaza Strip asking themselves "Where is the army?" (oh and regarding source, i won't tell shit because they won't care anyway)
except they weren't relying on technology. The Gaza boarder under normal circumstance even before Oct 7th was heavily guarded. However on Oct 7th the bulk of the IDF was pulled back to the West Bank where they were brutalizing and terrorizing Palestine in the west bank. It why it took 6 hours for them to respond. The few soldier left along the boarder were slaughtered with out ever having a chance to get to a weapon. They weren't even remotely put on alert. Which should have been the case if the vast majority of the forces were pulled off the boarder.
@zionist424 if rapes had occurred, as yet, Israel hasn't allowed independent investigators from going to Israel. Because Israel has said it's anti-semitic to even question their verdict.
They live in the worlds sh1teholes, always killing each other, always being beaten by everybody else and haven't progressed scientifically, medically , socially or militarily for over 1000 years, any advances are only because the West has led the way. So you'd have thought by now that if Allah exists, he really must hate Muslims.
Which is exactly why the attack dwindled out. All they were prepared to do was kill, but the were NOT prepared to hold power. That was their chance to overthrow Israel and they blew it.
Lol, they’d never do that. Too damning to one side of the aisle. PBS Frontline is fantastic but don’t forget PBS is essentially a sibling organization to NPR, which is a out-and-out Democrat propaganda organ. On the other hand, if you’re looking for programs about “January 6th,” PBS has predictably made about 20 of them 🤣
The answer is easy. The bases were at minimum staffing due to the holiday. Its importance is like Christmas in Israel. Many of the soldiers lived upwards of the central region. It takes time to get to the Gaza envelope from there. Even with entire units reacting very quickly, putting 2 and 2 together, and self-organizing to get down there to help, it took time to get there, then to get organized on the ground to make sure you're not shooting each other...plus road blocks set up by terrorists, so you can't just run towards a kibbutz, way too risky... There are many very easy reasons that explain the delay, no need for conspiracy theories.
@@mimikrya8794 As the guy in the video said - they'll analyze it, and analysis is ongoing. But my guess that this will be the result. And yes, Hamas had us fooled. But Oct 7th was a gift to him and now he is a maniac trying to draw the US into a full on war with Iran. Netanyahu needs to be stopped. How many Palestinians and Lebanese need to die to avenge Oct 7th?
It wasn't pride. I can't prove it but he knew the attack was coming and wanted it to happen. That's why he pulled the entire bulk of the IDF from the boarder back in to the West Bank. He wanted the attack to succeed so he could have a justification for going to war with Hamas. This war not only keeps him in power but keeps him from going to prison.
The fence did its job 100% of what a fence can do. Who didn't do their job is the IDF. Goals of a military attack are surprise and using imagination. A military has no excuse for being surprised or lacking their enemy's imagination. Also militaries plan on what their enemy is capable of doing not what they think their enemy is going to do. Since Hamas trained in the open in Gaza for a year flying paramotors, practicing breaching fences and walls with live explosives, assaulting cinder block buildings with the Star of David on them, mockup guard towers and Israeli Merkava tanks and were overheard saying on their radios "I've reached the Kibbutz" it was known what Hamas could do. On Oct. 4 Israeli settlers stormed the Al Aqsa Mosque. On Oct 7 Palestinians launched Operation Al Aqsa Flood to capture military and civilian hostages to bring back to Gaza to exchange for hundreds of Palestinian men women and children held in Israeli jails. When the IDF reached the Kibbutz there were Hamas fighters with hostages and civilians locked in their bomb shelters. Hamas had AK-47 rifles and some RPG-7 antitank armor-piercing rockets. The IDF had infantry with M-16 rifles, Merkeva tanks with 120 mm high explosive rounds, 50. cal machine guns, 7.62mm machine guns, Apache ground attack helicopter with nose-mounted 30mm chain machine gun, high explosive rockets and Hellfire anti-tank missiles. The aftermath in the Kibbutz is the IDF fighting Hamas and killing all of them and some hostages in 5 hours. edit: Why there was a music festival with hundreds of kids in a war zone 3 miles from Gaza where journalist have to wear body armor and helmets and people are supposed to be able to reach a bomb shelter in 15 seconds after a Red Alert rocket attack alarm goes off I have no idea
Not going to comment on all of your nonsense. Just the Nova part. What do you call a war zone? What type of war was in the are during this time? What do you define as a "war zone"? Seems that you are lacking some basic knowledge.
they were simply just thinking that they were the victors, but the vanquished doesn't say they are vanquished. oh and IDF not doing their job? They do, just... not where are they supposed to be.... they're somewhere else entirely (Bank).

@lisawise9849 We have not even to risk the adventure alone, for the heroes of all time have gone before us. The labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god. And where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves. And where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.- Joseph Campbell
Personally i was pretty surprised Hamas was able to do this. I wonder if Isreal let it happen so they could justify taking care of the problem once and for all.
I told someone back home the evening of October 7th (I was in Israel visiting that day) that I was concerned and shocked that Israel's border had been breached. I didn't think that was possible. I lost a lot of faith in their security departments that day.
I don’t think so? You asked the wrong question based on a wrong assumption. The assumption in your statement being Palestine is a war zone. It isn’t. What’s happening in modern day Palestine is literally the textbook definition of an apartheid regime. Israel is illegally occupying Palestine and by international law, the Palestinian people have a right to resist the occupation, even if it means the use of violence. A revolt, uprising, and resistance is NOT war. Indeed, even if it WERE a war, Israel has not abided by international rules of engagement. EDITED: I meant to add, re: asking the wrong question. The “someone” in your question is a colonizer. By virtue of being a colonizer, they are possessed to colonize more, to build on the land they stole, even if what they build is a commune.
This violence toward humanity needs to stop. I watch this months later and watch these leaders on bothsides sacricing their civilians. It is time for the world leaders to cherish humanity.
Not gone happen in fact its only going to get worse. Right now Israel wasn't to divide Gaza up in to different parts and build walks and guard towers along those walls. There the Palestine will be locked in whatever section their in. Nothing will be allowed to get out and everything going in will be decided by Israel. You can go find maps and plans for this all online. In short Israel is going to turn Gaza in to a concentration camp. I am willing to bet over time Palestine in West Bank will be rounded up an moved there. Fact is things are going to get very very worse for Palestine. The world has no empathy or remorse for the Palestine people. They see them as animals needing to be wiped out. That what a lot of Pro-Israeli see Palestine. They have dehumanized them to such a degree they can't see they have become no better then the Nazi.
Islam. Just look at what Europe is becoming. Acid attacks, honor killings, female gntl mutilation, brides (use your head). We must prevent the islamization of the west.
As a Religious, Zionist, Israeli Jew, I can assure you all that the failure was a lot bigger. This is a great video, showing how deep the failure was technically, the fence, the maintenance, etc. The failure was within the Israeli Jewish hearts, the un-ending elections that raised for the first time in the last 30 years a new right-wing government. The depression of the left-wing and their enormous attempts to overthrow this government although they were elected democratically, not to mention their 'deep-state' holding that collapses. The entire army was "asleep", and the interrogation for these reasons are still ongoing, we believe high-ranking left-wing commanders abandoned their responsibilties, morally and technically. Young recruited army women that called for aid, were abandoned to their horrific fate with Hamas. The irony is so strong, that most of the people that had been massacred were mostly left-wing members who were trying to emphatize with the Palestinians. I was staying at my wife's family home in southern Asqhelon and thank God we were not killed during that attack as we were hiding in the shelter. I lost a relative that went to the Nova Festival, Avia. We will never see her again. This is something that never happened, but we all feared it might. This is a war that has a resemblence to the 'Yom Kippur' war, another war that occurred 'unexpectedly' in a Jewish holiday. This was a 'Godly' act, that Hamas leveraged. and they leveraged it for the last time. Gaza will never be a terror hive again.
Thankyou Frontline for this Doumentry. The world needs to view this. The Truth. It is so devastating when humanity is forced to live with so much terror and Anger. Why what is so powerfull to destroy a whole city, country and innocent people live with so much terror. I can't even imagine. It is so disturbing. God be with you all. My prayers.
The world is roiling with hate. It’s scary how everyone can feel it, but no one seems capable of stopping it. Something is out there, inside us all, that can’t be reasoned with or made to feel pity. How it gets through our defenses is beside the point. You can’t stop such things with walls.
The fence was useless, adding the fact that, unfortunately, there was not enough (so little) man power in the most dangerous border in the world, is even more mind blowing. 💔
It was a luxury of modern times that you could expect raiders on villages and cities to not come after a settlement with no wall. The national wall matters, but every settlement in the world now needs at least a palisade if not a construction in concentric walls like a medieval castle. It was not an accident that the building of castles was necessary, the only thing that offered protection against viking raids was a stone wall.
This is one of the biggest intelligence failures in history. And while what Hamas did was unforgivable, IDF leadership and Netanyahu contributed to the loss of life on Oct 7 and need to be held accountable as well. Violence increased exponentially when he shifted to a far right government and aggression towards Palestinians was ramped up. It was a recipe for disaster and didn't happen out of nowhere.
I am totally against the Netanyahu government, especially this one. But their government had little effect on this attack. They planned it already years ago, and planned to execute it much earlier, around a year and a half ago. So ut has not much to do with Netanyahu. They did it because they thought it's the right time, and because that's their ideology, that's their charter.
this attack didn't just spontaneously happen on October 7th, it was years in the planning. they even had to buy in and then train terrorists to fly paramotors. If there had been a different Israeli government on october 7th it would still have happened.
Um, Hamas’s motivation isn’t exactly a mystery. Nor the IDF’s. It’s two recently invented nations fighting over the same patch of land. Same thing happened in the Balkans, Alsace-Lorraine, Poland, Ireland, India/Pakistan, Lebanon and the American West. There’s nothing particularly interesting about the Israel/Palestine case, besides the ruthless skill with which both sides have convinced the world *their* zero-sum territorial conflict somehow has more world-historical and metaphysical importance than anyone else’s.
Ok, well, in 1946 the newly formed United Nations said "we need to put the Jews somewhere that is outside Europe so we don't have to deal with them" because just like today, only developed European nations really seem to matter to the UN. Britain said "well, we control the land that the Romans forcibly removed them from and it's pretty shit land that we really don't want..." The UN all thought about it and said "That works for us, better than giving them someplace that matters." So Jews in Europe were encouraged to immigrate to the newly formed state of Israel, and the people who lived there were encouraged to move out. The Palestinians, naturally, weren't real thrilled with that, so they got together with the neighboring Arab countries and decided that it would be totally cool if they finished what Hitler started, as soon as those pesky Brits were out of the region. In 1948, Britain saw their chance and told everyone Elizabeth wasn't into riding dune buggies through deserts and they left. As soon as they were sure the British weren't playing some British humor joke on them all the neighboring countries attacked Israel, resulting in around 700k Palestinians realizing that staying in a war zone was pretty stupid, so they hauled ass out of the area. The Arabs, uniformly, performed less than spectacularly and Israel occupied a lot of the land that the Palestinians fled from and then made it pretty clear that the people who didn't flee might not be so welcome because...well, their neighbors did start a war of extermination that failed and just like Germany was occupied when they lost...so was a lot of Palestine. Then the Palestinian refugees said "whoa whoa whoa, we should be allowed to return home, or at least get paid for our houses." Israelis said "Sure, you can return home if you "agree to remain at peace with your neighbors" and the Palestinians said "whoa whoa whoa, that's asking way to much." There you have it, the short version of how it all started.

I tell you what is even sadder though, the horrific crimes of Israeàł which have been committed for many decades. Yes, it's true, and this isn't an argument for what-about-ism, but the difference here, is this ended in a few days and many of the deaths were friendly fire (up to a quarter). Gažâ is still being bombed and people dying there to this day, almost a year on. What we know almost for certain, is that people should look back on the former illegal settlements and current day 'Isràël', with it's oppressive and awful policies (only emboldened by this event) with the same embarrassment and distain we had for South African Apartheid in the last century. There's no justification for mass rape, child detention without charge, and an armed force of a nation acting against the court in mutiny (such as the illegal occupation of houses in WB currently ordered so by the country's court. Shame on anyone who is so against humanity they believe otherwise.
@@mousegreen8462 The Hamas government (along with their cronies Islamic Jihad) of Gaza Strip have been firing rockets blindly into Israel, kidnapping and murdering Israelis ever since they were handed control upon Israel's complete disengagement on September 30, 2005: in other words, Israelis have endured 18 long years of air-raid sirens and random deaths from terrorist rockets, only slightly blunted by the technological innovation of Iron Dome. How much murder and mayhem must Israel endure, before they go in and end the threat, hopefully once and for all time? It seems very much like the October 7th 2023 massacre of 1200 and the kidnapping of 240 was literally "the straw which broke the camel's back": which seems to have been a massive miscalculation by Hamas/Islamic Jihad and thoroughly backfired on them, as they are being killed in combat or surrender in droves, as the IDF sweeps through Gaza Strip.
Of course everyone knows, Israel would never miss an opportunity to show themselves as victims... Instead of using this as an excuse to kill even more innocent people Israel should have done some soul searching and learn that it is your occupation and actions against Palestinians that is the greatest threat to your security. Israel will be most safe when there is peace and when Palestinian people feel safe and free...if that were the case then Palestinians would not support Hamas they would condemn and fight any true terrorism because it would threaten the peace... But now Israel is no different from Hamas...they create terror together...
I can't help but think after watching multiple videos on Palestine that you can push people so far and cage them for so long before they snap. While what Hamas did was horrific, what Israel has done for years is just if not worse.
A typical excuse. The Palestinians were offered numerous peace deals - land, half of Jerusalem, investments, etc. The ONLY thing the international community asked was to stop attacking Israel and recognize the state. They refused both of these conditions and chose war. Whoever wanted peace with Israel - Egypt, Jordan, now the UAE and Saudi Arabia - got peace. Whoever chose war - got war. It’s time they learn to live with the consequences of their choices. I’m sick and tired of people legitimizing barbarism, just because the barbarians claim oppression and victim hood. Sick of that narrative. They will either learn to live in peace with the rest of the world (not just the Jews), or they will go to Allah. I’ve reached a point where I’m comfortable with either option.
@@cliomuse1206 Maybe the peace deals weren't sufficient for them? You act as if someone should just take a deal without considering if the terms are sustainable for them...... you must not run a business....
@@jackofalltrades3378 in the real world, you compromise. Most nation states wouldn’t exist today, if people didn’t compromise. Also, they have demonstrated that they don’t want a state - they want a perpetual war. If they wanted to create a Palestinian state, they would’ve done it by now. Business has nothing to do with this topic. I’ve been to the West Bank, and I walked in there with a heart full of sympathy for them. Walked out with a very different perspective, after everything I saw and heard from the locals. I no longer see them as victims.

Yes, it says that a hell of a lot of Jews who were not in the US got killed off in the years 1933-1945. And Hitler wasn't able to kill off the ones who got to the US before those years. And the US and Israel being on friendly terms, there's a lot of travel back and forth. Lastly, if you learned English in the last 50 years, there's a pretty good chance you learned American English from movies, TV, American teachers, etc.

I can't imagine how humiliating it must be for the citizens of Gaza to look at a heavily armed wall built to prevent them from ever walking on the land that their ancestors lived in for centuries
The same ancestors who refused a two state solution and waged a war to destroy the other side - and lost. Not just the war but also their land. Yea.....very humiliating but richly deserved
The pain those poor people must feel is unimaginable and my heart really goes out to them , but does inflicting total war on the people of Gaza really help?? No it doesn’t, there is only one solution to this cycle of violence that erupts every few years and that is a peace solution so no more Israeli or Palestinian families have to go through this horror. It pains me to see anyone die in a futile war that will never end until people on both sides start seeing the other side as human and start seriously looking for a peaceful resolution to this madness. From what I’m seeing both sides just want to eliminate the other side, I seen the exact same thing happen in Northern Ireland in the 70,s and 80,s and it was a horrible chapter in our history that no one with any humanity wants to go back to. Don’t get me wrong things in Northern Ireland are far from perfect and the hate is still there but we are not slaughtering each other anymore, I only am aware that as bad as the troubles in Northern Ireland were what’s happening in Israel and Gaza and the West Bank is far worse and needs a peaceful resolution
@charlotteschneider6080 If Gaza is an open air concentration camp, why don't the Gazans leave through the rear door to Egypt? Why won't any of the 55 Muslim countries let them in? Why have numerous countries - Jordan, Lebanon, and Kuwait come to mind instantly - thrown them out? Why did Israel not erect a fence until Gazans begam sending suicide bombers to blow up passenger buses?
@charlotteschneider6080concentration camps governed by Hamas. Ask Hamas why all aid are rockets, ammunition, tunnels, etc. can the people suffering in Gaza eat rockets and billets now? Don’t think so. Job well done, Frontline. IDF underestimated the enemy. And how can you fight an enemy you don't know? Someone in Israel should be sent to jail for this inexcusable negligence bordering on treason.
Frontline is always on point. I can only say....all Israeli citizens should be ready to fight at any time......young, old, men and women. This will be your best means of defense.
Oct. 7 proved that technology for guarding borders can never be a replacement for personnel on the ground.
No, it didn't. What it proved is that technology has to be backed up by robust rules of engagement. Saying your helicopters can't fire at armed men coming through the holes they've blasted in a fence unless you have confirming ground observers to sign off on a kinetic response is not that.
To me the 7th of October mainly seems to prove that the world left Gaza to fend for itself by forsaking them for over 70 years.
@MsBhappy you could give a billion dollars to inmates in a prison, nothing they could buy will change that they are fundamentally trapped and oppressed.

That the IDF Soldiers & Kibbutz's were refused fire arms of any kind was ignorant arrogance! Ever single man, women & teen should on the Kibbutz's & IDF Base have had smg or carbine
It was intentional. They wanted this war in exactly the same way that the warnings regarding 911 were ignored.

"A line is only as strong as it's weakest link." An old military statement.
Why would Israel have to hold a line at all? that is what needed to be asked first.

But Oct 7th was a gift to him and now he is a maniac trying to draw the US into a full on war with Iran. Netanyahu needs to be stopped. How many Palestinians and Lebanese need to die to avenge Oct 7th?
No kidding, Einstein - what would YOU have done differently
@@tomf9253 Uhhh, NOT commit genocide perhaps?

@@heidiharris_ can you be slightly more descriptive?

When comes a video about the genocide in Gaza?
there is no genocide there. its a regular war
Hasn’t happened 🤷♀️

The world is roiling with hate. It’s scary how everyone can feel it, but no one seems capable of stopping it. Something is out there, inside us all, that can’t be reasoned with or made to feel pity. How it gets through our defenses is beside the point. You can’t stop such things with walls.
💯 the walls (that are purely to stop people from entering/exiting areas) are a sign of humanity failing
The technology of the fence was good, but no effort was made to protect against a major multi facetted attack on it.
What a documentry❤

The attackers' motivation, rather than their methods, should be the focus of inquiry.

Then the Palestinian refugees said "whoa whoa whoa, we should be allowed to return home, or at least get paid for our houses." Israelis said "Sure, you can return home if you "agree to remain at peace with your neighbors" and the Palestinians said "whoa whoa whoa, that's asking way to much."
There you have it, the short version of how it all started.

A typical excuse. The Palestinians were offered numerous peace deals - land, half of Jerusalem, investments, etc. The ONLY thing the international community asked was to stop attacking Israel and recognize the state. They refused both of these conditions and chose war.
