sussing 2 of my nemesis tunes, and this kindly gent pops up, pure class, sorry to hear of his passing, dig that tone and a group that knows how to punch it right out there,
I think its a Cort LCS-1, a not very fashionable but excellent archtop made by CORT. LC stands for Larry Coryell. The one played by Louis seems to have had an Epiphone compensator tailpiece fitted in place of the original. You could probably pick up one of these guitars for £500 or so.
I think he only sounds to busy because the mic picks up more from him -- pointed right at him (camera). In the club I bet the balance was good and that drummer is playing tasty tasty stuff
drums toooooo loud. .making louis force the issue. .Jim hall would NEVER have worked with that rubbish. .not in a million years. .he was polished and so were the musicians he worked with. . this is all over the fucking place. .terrible.
Good grief, fancy seeing you here, Mr Barfe. But no, the drums weren’t remotely overpowering in the room at the time. In the best tradition of US guys with a big beat, the time was implacable, the volume absolutely controlled, and the accents a massive kick in the Khyber.
Great solo from Louis. Killer drummer too!
Only saw him once in my life - because I’m a total dope. I remember he was playing shows on Sundays in JJs in and around 2014/2015. I blew it. 😢
Never saw Louis play the same guitar twice. He made them all sound bloody fantastic.
What a gent, moving away after his solo to allow pianist his moment
Saw Louis in a bar on Chatham row in Dublin about 2000ish. Fabulous player
Wow!..This swings like a dunny door in the wind!! - Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!
i realy like him❤❤

Was there that night sitting beside the cameraman. Glad to see these videos surfacing. More please.
makes me thirsty for guinness and jazz
They are fantastic!
自然に身体がリズムを取ってしまいますね。
The drummer who sat in was from Baltimore USA as I remember.
He is a great drummer.
I thought he Looked familiar
Lee Pearson 👍🏾
Killing as always! Anyone know what kind of guitar Louis is playing here? He always seemed to be playing some really cool guitars
Looks like a cheap Asian guitar. Probably replaced pickups but he would sound great on any guitar believe me.
Looks like a Cort Larry Coryel with an Epiphone tailpiece.
Who is the drummer? Great cymbal sound
Wonder what guitar he's playing, sounds good.

Correction. The black pickguard means its probably the less expensive LCS-2. Still an excellent Korean manufactured instrument.
he loved the drink
he loved the drink. Unlike anybody else that ever walked the earth, right?
He played in my old mans pub. I know him well, he is a gent!
So long ago, and , so many great nights at Kelly's on the Quays.
Great drummer but hes too busy
as is gitr solo and piano....ppl gotta learn to leave SPACE !

These days he's quite laid back. Drummers now solo from the minute they sit down to the end of the gig. Drives me nuts.

Tosh
Wheres your video asshole? show us how. He was a great musician.
I think the drums aren't helped by the compression on the recording device. In the room, they will have sounded much more balanced.
Good grief, fancy seeing you here, Mr Barfe.

Is the drummer even listening?
you weren't there you liar
